Hi, Folks,
I thought I'd throw my two cents into this thread since there seem to be very few people on here with psychic or medium abilities. I can do both, though I don't do either professionally. For the record, I agree about taking this kind of information with a grain of salt and even the most talented psychics are said to only be right about 70% of the time. And, I always thought SB seemed a little, um, what's the polite way to say suspicious?
To expand a bit on what Conroy was saying, when I connect with someone on the other side, I tend to ask for (and often it happens without even asking) an image or a piece of information that would be otherwise unknown to me, or meaningless to me, but would have meaning for the person I'm reading for. Often it's something that seems totally out of left field and I'll be hesitant to bring it up. E.g. I read for someone who had had a difficult relationship with his now deceased father and I was getting splashing water and big inflatable rafts, so I sheepishly said "I'm getting something that looks like white water rafting" and had the person say that he and his father had done that together many years ago - something I would never have guessed or known. I had it happen another time when reading a living teenager for his mother, and got the word boogie board (I don't really know what those are) and I brought it up, only to have her say "yes, he's crazy about it." For me, (and the person I'm reading for) it tends to validate the connection and the information that I'm given.
I never set out to be psychic or a medium: it was something that I gradually became aware of, and it took me a long time to learn how to manage it. It was more like I didn't have much of a choice - maybe like trying to convince oneself of right-handedness when one is in fact left-handed? Again, I don't know - I'm right-handed.

The first time I experienced mediumship, I had the spirit of a deceased person come to me out of the blue, and I did my best to make him go away, but he had a message for the person I was sitting with, and he was so persistent that he finally wore me down and I had to say that he was in the room.
I'm also going to go out on a limb a bit here, and say that I think there's a connection between these abilities and reincarnation. If we accept that when we incarnate, it's not always 100% of our soul, wouldn't it make sense that the non-incarnate percentage of ourselves would be tuned in to the bigger picture as it were? I don't know - it's just something that I think about.
Anyway, a longer post than I had intended - thanks for reading if you made it this far.
