This was a nice read, thank you. In my personal experience, it seems that a lot of people remember being a soldier, sure, but I've not met too many that remember being in The Great War.helz_belz said:

I've had an 'affinity' with the Great War for a while now, various things have drawn me towards it over th years, but only really in passing. I had a few hunches about what this may all mean, so I tried a youtube self-regression the other day to see if anything came up. I can't tell what was 'memory' and what was my imagination, but I got a view of myself in uniform, at the docks, there were horses being walked onto a ship. This much I can possibly put down to my imagination, but what I find harder to explain is that I was clearly in officers uniform (there were yellow 'V's on my upper arm), and a wedding ring on my left hand! those are harder to explain I think (I'm not married, I'm female, and not overly familiar with historic uniforms). So now I am a little confused as to what is memory and what is imagination filling in the gaps 
After so many years of just being interested and curious, it took a lot of courage to try the self-regression, had been putting it off for a long time, was a little afraid I think. Getting these memories/imaginings/whatever they are, is a little un-nerving in a way, but also very life-affirming, a way to find out more about who I am The walking on the Moon view is an excellent way to describe things, will keep that in mind from now on :thumbsup: There are other hunches I'd like to investigate, but this life seems to be calling to me at the moment
I've started this long process, because like you say, the little things (which could be forgotten over time) can make more sense later and be validation. The thing that made me start writing it all down, was when I realized some of my dreams were repeating, I was seeing some of the same people, places & events more then once. I will probably be working on it for the rest of my life, and only for the purpose of my own research, but I have found it to be an amazingly rewarding feeling so far.
