I will be gentle with you. I am a newbie to all this and am trying to find out more about my past. I have had dreams and memories but not exactly like yours. Thank you for coming forward, because people like myself can learn from you and others like you. I have had very bad dreams that I have learned to block since childhood and am fairly certain that I have something locked inside me from a past life that I don't want to remember or that it is not the right time. I have a freind who is trying to help me and I am grateful for all the information I can get.
 
Wow, I really enjoyed your website - what a fascinating story, thank you so much for sharing it! You are so fortunate to have such vivid memories that you were able to validate as well. I have a very deep desire to remember my past life, but unfortunately all I get are very vague impressions. Impressions that I can only guess come from a past life...for all I know they could be of my very early childhood.

Have you ever wondered why you are getting these flashbacks in your dreams? I gather that these dreams were totally spontaneous and you did nothing to actively try to remember a past life. Do you think maybe you are meant to remember for some as yet unknown reason?

Thank you for your kind words :) I do believe I was meant to remember this for a reason. A lot of it has to do with my religious background and dealing with issues surrounding my faith. When I started to discover all my dreams were checking out, my entire journey (both spiritual and professional) started making sense. It was like I was where I needed to be to approach these dreams the way I did.

Perhaps had I known more about the paranormal or reincarnation, I would have gone directly to a psychic or regression therapist and then who knows what would've happened. Instead, I let them come to me naturally over a course of about 3 years. Of course, I felt like I was going bonkers in the process, but now I see why it had to happen as it did.

There are other reasons, and I could write on this for awhile, but suffice it to say that Francine's life ended too early. When she died (she was 28), her children were 3 years old and nine months. She wasn't ready to go, and I have always, always, had a pessimistic outlook on when I would die. That's probably why I refused to have any children until later in my life, after my career was settled.. ;) Ironically, I was 28 when I had my first child and the dreams began. I think I'm back because I didn't finish whatever I needed to do in that life.

I just hope that I honor her memory and the memory of those she left behind with what I am doing.

We've corresponded briefly, but I suggested that based on my own experience, she might not want to get her hopes up too much in terms of expecting society as a whole to pay much attention (based on my own experience with my documentary), and I didn't hear back. I'm in Atlanta, also, so perhaps that was a bit unnerving? Anyway I wish Lagrima luck and intend to post a link on my website.

Incidentally I don't agree that these cases are rare. I think they are common, but that willingness to accept and share them is rare. I think a lot of people out there have had similar dreams but don't know what they were; and people who do know what they were are afraid to share them for fear of being ridiculed. I would agree that *verifying* a case historically is more rare, however.

Yes, I received your reply! I wasn't sure what else I could say except to agree with you 100%. I know people's perception is not likely to change and that's okay. I'm not out the change anyone's mind.

I do however strongly maintain that mine is different from those that have been out there and publicized. I don't see too many remembering their names (first and last names) and the names of their family members correctly. I also don't see a lot of people starting their research with the names they recieved and then matching their previously documented dreams with the same family that matched their names.

What I do see is a lot of advertisements for past life regressions by psychics and/or hypnotherapist. I also see people so desperate, hurt and confused that they are turning to these professionals for help with their past lives. Had I done that, I don't believe my case would be as strong as it is. Is it easy? NO. But, with a proliferation of more communities and support network like these, maybe it will be possible for MORE people to have these memories, deal with them and then come out without hypnotic regression.
 
We're arranging to videotape an interview, and it should be available on my website within a month or two. I'll post a note here when it's ready. Based on our phone conversation, there are some very interesting aspects to Lagrima's case, especially that the geneologist gave her misleading or incorrect (intentional or unintentional) information which she disagreed with based on her memories, and it was her memories which turned out to be correct. This has happened in other cases, as in the Bridey Murphy case where historians turned out to be wrong, and of course it happened often in Dr. Stevenson's cases where villagers would deliberately try to fool the child and the child would insist on something to the contrary, and be right. This case seems to have some pretty strong examples of that.

Thanks Kris! Although I'm not out to convince anyone of anything, I do hope my story will help people and encourage a more objective approach to reincarnation.

I just watched it and it was great!

Angela -- you were super. A really good presentation. It's clear in the video that you are 100% confident about the reality of your memories, and it's also clear that your research was careful and that you never allowed yourself to be "led". Those two factors give your story a great deal of credibility. If I were still a skeptic, your interview would certainly have encouraged me to learn more about the idea of reincarnation and probably would have made me a little more accepting of people who claim to have past life memories.

Steve -- I'd been to (and enjoyed) your website in the past, but never realized it belonged to the friendly man from Georgia on CPL. :-)

Jenny Cockell... I googled a bit but can't find much of anything; I suggest you contact S&S directly, as Fireside is a division. Snailmail fan letters are usually passed on by publishers straight to the authors, so I suggest trying that route.

Sure, IARRT's going to want to hear from you. They research reincarnation and have a professional interest in putting out evidence that supports it.

I think that regression therapy has suffered, not only in reputation alone, but in genuine dilution, from being designated a "fringe" profession. Because it edges into that which much of our society considers marginal, it does attract genuine crackpots and charlatans. However, the two long-time regression therapists whom I know personally, one of whom I visit as a client, are very professional; one of them is a clinical psychologist. Yes, there are people out there who will try to put "memories" into a client's head, but a therapist who has integrity as well as good training recognizes that his or her job is to help the client access what is there inside, rather than create something which is not, and also that this is something to be taken very seriously, as you say in the video, not party entertainment.

You might be interested in reading pieces from the IARRT's Journal of Regression Therapy -- one year's issue is available for free download: http://www.iarrt.org/journal/99-12/index.html . Hans TenDam's article on "false memory syndrome" speaks directly to the issue of regressionists planting "memories."

Good luck getting your story out there. Enough solid cases, and the public will become educated, however slowly.

I just watched the video you talk about and its GREAT. She comes across as very sincere and genuine. I am still not sure what I believe, but she makes some good points in there!

I spoke this weekend at The Theosophical Society in Atlanta, GA on reincarnation with ssake. It was a last minute thing so I didn't get a chance to advertise it here or on my website. It looks like we'll be speaking again sometime in the Fall for them. They were very excited about our presentation and asked us back! :D

This is the first time I have spoken IRL publicly about my experience and it went really well. Send good vibes so that the story will continue to reach those who need to hear it!
