Another Gift?

Sometimes (on occasion still, but usually when I was much younger) something would happen to me while I slept, and I suspect I know what it is, quite often I would go to bed, with a problem bothering me, be it a social or personal problem or a mechanical problem with something.

And usually by morning, the problem had corrected itself, fixed itself, righted itself, whatever, the problem had resolved itself to where it worked for me, again whether it was a personal or social problem or something was broke, quite often the problem had resolved itself.

Now it wouldn't work on big problems, like a wheel fell off my bike, but it did work on more subtle problems and in the dreams, which I remembered, I felt that someone (or something) was helping and guiding me in some way.

Nowadays, people are reluctant to ask a complete stranger for help because of, rightly the dangers involved in such a request, but in becoming so suspicious, we may have closed doors to rooms that contained solutions to our problems.

What this “gift” was (or is) called, I have no idea, perhaps some kind of “channeling” but I'm reluctant to call it that because of the “New Age” label being attached to it.

So was it just me or did you have (or still have) such a gift as I am curious how widespread this “gift” is?

When my father was alive he used to say that whenever he had a problem with something he was fixing or building all night long he would be working on it and when he awoke he knew just how to accomplish his task.

The old people in my neighborhood used to say "Sleep on It" or they would dedicate the problem to a bedpost and in the morning they would have the answer to the problem, seems a shame we as a society are forgetting the "Old Ways".

It seems to me, that from time to time, people have consistently resorted to some thing or system for possible answers instead of seeking the help or opinions of other human beings – possibly because we know that other human beings have their own problems to solve, or that any suggestions will be filtered through that other persons particular viewpoint which has nothing to do with our own. So, we will often choose to go into a quiet place to either meditate, take a shower, go to dreamland, or consult the wise 8-ball. I have even known people who would open their family bible and blindly point to a passage to read in hopes of receiving a helpful message.

I think that, whatever the problem is, by choosing a system of any kind has the effect of temporarily removing ourselves from the problem in a way that allows us to count to ten, take a deep breath and open our subconscious minds to the collective consciousness. It probably doesn't matter what system is used, as long as we cease rushing around in a panic.

One of the most inspiring methods of solving problems is, as you said, Hydrolad, to "sleep on it". I am reminded of numerous accounts regarding scientists and engineers who worked and worked on some seemingly unsolvable problem, falling asleep with exhaustion, then having a dream in which a solution was clearly shown as if by magic or heavenly inspiration.

It is not clear how this works, but I suspect that any system devised by humankind shares a common thread with forms of divination whether it be tea leaves, i-ching sticks, bible code or even tarot cards. Any system relies on first doing the ground work, then taking the necessary time out away from the problem in order to let the subconscious mind connect in some unexplainable way with the unknown.

Yet Another "Gift"

Yet another “gift” is the ability to see and understand the lights around a person (or object), all animate and inanimate objects have these lights in what is known as the “Aura”.

IMHO, these lights, I believe, represent an energy field or “life essence” in all objects, be it a rock, a tree all the way up to the human entity.

We all start out in life with the ability to see them, and as children, take this ability for granted, similar to having blurry vision, but not realizing that you had eye trouble until you got them examined.

Some people continue to see Aura's into adulthood, but for most of us (myself included) the gift fades into our sub-conscious mind where it quietly runs and operates (much like a computer program) without us being aware of it.

This may explain why we have “vibrations”, good or bad, when we first meet a person, and as it turns out, the feeling was right on the money.

Animals as well as small children can readily see the Aura, and can tell if you're a threat to them, whether you're a good or a bad person.

Newborn infants and babies tend to stare at a spot just above your head, instead of your face because the Aura is at it's strongest at the crown of your head (hence the name: Crown chakra).

And no matter how hard you try making googly faces at the baby, if your Aura is off, then that baby will start crying or the animal will act accordingly.

And I believe that information from Past Lives can be made known in the Aura and read by others.

So instead of cultivating pretty faces for the baby, try cultivating the good parts in your soul and banishing the bad parts and this will be reflected in a much cleaner Aura.

I have only seen auras a few times, but I haven't really tried to see anything in a very long time, either. In one the girl's aura was black and the color appeared to cover most of her face, also.

The other was my oldest, and it was red.

In times past, Black was thought to have meant death, but this is NOT true.

IMHO it is most likely related to lack of forgiveness to oneself, unresolved karma or needing compassion for self.

Red can often mean anger, frustration, determination, sense of importance, feeling overwhelmed by change.

Interpretation of the Aura is NOT an exact science and it is also up to the viewer to correctly describe the colors seen to the Interpreter, so they might arrive at a correct conclusion. :)
