Another Titanic Past Life?

That is haunting.

I find it fascinating that the Titanic launched May 31, 1911, the 22nd anniversary of the Johnstown Flood.

Hmm. Perhaps May 31st is not a good time to be around water OMG

Have you purchased anything related to a past life before?

There's not much I can purchase but I do own prints of portraits and also books related to my 18th century past life. I wonder what people around me would think of it but I've managed to keep most of these purchases secret so far.

Still, when it comes time to frame some of them and put them up, I've thought about how I'm going to explain when someone asks me why on earth I have all of these portraits of these people. I wonder if anyone might confront me about it.

In this case, he could have a past life related interest. Or he could just be a heavily interested person. Or perhaps was interested in the Titanic in a past life. I guess we'll never know.

I do have a few interests which aren't particularly past life related. There was a time when I had a fascination for the country of Brazil and it was completely unconnected to a past life. Never been there before in any life. :-P

Still, that is a lot of money for someone of that age to pay for a letter like that!

Well, I guess as far as I know it's not connected. It seems highly unlikely. It just doesn't feel the same as other past life connected countries I've had an interest in. So, I'd be really surprised if I did have a significant past life connection to there.

Meaning: I don't know 100% for sure but I feel very doubtful about it

Some of us have purchased things with a past life connection, obstacles. I suppose an acceptable explanation for others would be that you have unusual interests. People who indulge in antiquarian pursuits have never fit into the modern world particularly well.

Yes, sure it's possible he has a past life connection with the Titanic. He's a marine and so has contact with the sea in this life, his father introduced him to the Titanic as a young boy, and he has purchased Titanic memorabilia. It's very possible.

For anyone interested there was a thread a while back about purchasing items related to past lives: Buying momentoes of past lives? I think most of us here have bought one or two things related to past lives, although it’s good to know I’m not the only one to keep some of them secret! I have sometimes used the 'well, maybe I was there in a past life or something' explanation, usually seems to satisfy people.

It brings up the question, though, how many exotic or seemingly disconnected interests are past life related? Since most people are unconsciously affected by such things, it would be difficult to calculate.

How many antiquarians, historians, scientists, and archaeologists are out there incidentally researching the locations, problems, and joys of own past lives, without even knowing it?

An interest in Brazil might not mean one lived there ... maybe there is something about the presentation of that country that reflects the culture, explorations, or interests from a past life. Fascination with the Titanic might mean he was on the boat, built it, lost someone in the tragedy ...

All of it becomes a reminder of the patterns and inter-connectivity of life. It's fascinating how much of our forward progress is fueled by our history.

I agree, Dreamer. I often think historians, biographers, novelists, and scientists may have PL connections to their subject matter. I failed to mention archeologists, and that might be the most connected profession of all.

That's usually why they chose that field. Not always, though. I once heard a lawyer on a talk show. When asked why he wanted to be a lawyer, he said "All Baby-boom lawyers grew up watching Perry Mason in the 50's and 60's."

Agree also.
