Babylon/Persia/India?

I did a self-regression today with an open mind - and by that I mean there wasn't anything puzzling me and I wasn't expecting answers to any specific question. It seems I discovered a new past life as a result.

I'm not sure where or when it took place, but I'll list here things I got during the regression. I'll probably look more into this lifetime as time allows, but if other members want to help me with the exploration and validations, I'm happy to hear your suggestions and findings. :)

At the beginning I saw myself wearing a green, floaty dress, slippers and a headdress that had a round disk standing above my head. My hair was long and dark, my nose long, too. I felt the surroundings were dry and deserty even though I was in a lush garden. I got a name Miriam, Maryam, Mirja or something else like that. Could've also started with Myr-.

When I was trying to think of my location, I got Persia, then India... Middle East, I was also thinking about Egypt. Later I got Babylon and somehow connected this life to Judaism.

I saw a big palace with the huge garden I was in to start with. There were rectangular pools of water, and tiles of a yellowish colour. I got one childhood memory in which I was a toddler, walking barefooted on those warm tiles. I had recently learned how to walk. Just before I reached one of the pools, a woman grabbed me under my arms, and lifted me up laughing.

As an adult/young woman I think I was living in that palace surrounded mostly by other women and guards (?). There was a lot of dancing, singing and festivities going on regularly. Life was easy and a lot of fun. There were parties where people would dance around a fire, there were magicians doing tricks, and on normal days I and the other women would lie around on big pillows and cushions etc. eating delicious food on plates served to us.

When I thought about the delicacies we ate, I remembered things made with halva, dates and figs. I was also thinking about olive trees and jasmin in some form. I'm not sure if it was the flowers, scent or what, but jasmin was somehow significant.

Stars were somehow very important. I'm not sure if it was about science or religion, but I think we thought "everything" was in the stars.

I had a boy child, and it was a huge deal. I think the boy was called Arun or something like that, and I saw him as a newborn wrapped in an ornamented shawl/cape (?) that was blue or had a lot of blue ornaments. The baby's skin was also painted or decorated with jewels or something. It's possible he had a bindu on his forehead. There was a big celebration because of his birth, and we were carrying him in a parade.

For some reason I don't have a clear picture or my husband, but apparently he was someone important. Even though he was "there", I think my everyday life was spent with other women and my child. I remember lying on my bed with my son and it's late evening. It's just us in this room or ramada, I'm not sure if it's closed on all sides. At least there are window/s with no glass, just thin cloth that moves in the mellow wind. I know there are guards just outside.

I get an idea of exotic animals, like elephants and tigers, which would point to India.

If I think about the clothes we wore, I see floaty clothes of thin material, but I think even the women wore mostly outfits with baggy trousers rather than dresses. Lots of scarves that were used in dancing. Men had baggy trousers, too, and slippers with turned-up toes.

I see myself as an old woman, probably very close to my death, probably in that same room and bed. I'm very content, and ready to go. I'm talking to a young man and woman, I believe they are my grandchildren, and I'm very pround of them.

I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, I'd say I was from Babylon, possibly of Jewish descent, and my husband was Indian. Maybe the area we lived in was Persia. I'm not familiar with the history of those three, but I have an idea they have had business with each other at times. I was getting Persia strongly all the time, and it was mostly some things I experienced that made me think of India, too. And then came "Babylon" loud and clear, so I suspect it has something to do with all this as well.

I think I know why I remembered this lifetime now. I found out a week ago I'm expecting a baby boy, and even though I remember dozens of past lifetimes, this far I didn't have any memories of having a happy lifetime with a son I loved and who loved me, and in which we both would've lived to an old age and nothing tragic would have happened. With this memory from today I got this feeling of having had a very good relationship with my son, and us both living happily to the old age, loving each other and other family members. It felt like a very, very good life.

Congratulations on the boy ,,,

Interesting memory. You sure do get alot of visual, tactile memories Karolina.

I love this --ie to have that reaffirming support from remembering how good life can . It helps to change outlooks on life. I tend to be a pessimistic person and need to remain more hopeful for more nice memories like this to boost my self confidence. I sense I block these nice memories due to a guilt complex .

Could you get a date??

Fascinating stuff Karoliina, thanks for sharing. Your description does sound like Persia to me, and there's a lot of detail there to research.

Maybe there is some significance in the timing of this recall like you said. Or maybe somebody from that lifetime is about to make a reappearance in your present life? - ;)

I have a bit of spare time on my hands this evening, so I can try doing a bit of research for you. I'll get straight back to you if I find anything.

Chris - :)

((((Karoliina))))

Thanks for sharing! I'm always excited about new memories and these are certainly wonderful ones to remember.

I get an idea of exotic animals, like elephants and tigers, which would point to India.
Just throwing in a comment, but the exotic animal business was huge in ancient times. They were captured in Africa and India and brought to the palaces of rulers and the rich :)

Thanks for your comments, everybody!

And takk, Sunniva, that's very interesting and I had no idea. It seemed very odd and far-fetched to have animals like that around.

I'll try to get more about this life later. So far I've found through research that Miriam/Maryam is a name used in those cultures (Jewish, Arabic etc.). Some headdresses with a round disc symbolised the sun or the moon (in some cultures, some era, I don't know the specifics), and I also found out that Arun is an Indian name and it apparently means sun or was given as a sign of respect to the "sun god", so I was wondering if my headdress and the fact my son was called Arun could've been connected?

The clothes used in the area in ancient times look similar to what I saw. There were wars, occupations etc. between Babylon/Mesopotamia, Persia and India, but the history is so rich it's difficult to know where to look, as I don't have a date.

I've yet to take a look at the garden designs of the area in history. I was a little puzzled about my childhood memory, because it seemed like the same place I lived in as an adult, but wouldn't it make more sense I lived in my husband's palace after I got married?

Halva, dates, figs, olive trees and jasmin flowers were/are all used/known in the area. Astronomy and astrology were important to all three cultures.

Hi Karolina,

Congratulations on the baby!...Motherhood is truly great.

Your description was great. Even though I am not very familiar with middle eastern cultures, I am Indian by birth and I want to show you some pictures that might help you determine if some of your memories were from India or not.

I felt the surroundings were dry and deserty even though I was in a lush garden.

Rajasthan is a desert in India but there r parts of this area that are not completely "desert"...

Here is a picture of Rambagh Palace in Jaipur(Capital of Rajasthan)..click on the slideshow or the photos tab..and see if any of these pictures resonate with ur memories..It may not be exactly the place u had in ur memories but maybe similar.

It is a hotel now so pardon the "touristy" shots...

It could be salwar kameez, a traditional indian dress...the following picture is kinda modernized ..but the traditional version is similar. Also the scarves like in this picture, r used in folk dancing.

For some reason I don't have a clear picture or my husband, but apparently he was someone important. Even though he was "there", I think my everyday life was spent with other women and my child.
The society in Rajasthan was mostly polygamous, with kings having multiple wives. They mostly married to acquire land and territory so it was not uncommon for wives/queens to lead kind of solitary lives with their servants/courtesans etc and mostly centered around their children.(Dont have a reference for that but I remember reading it in history books in middle school).

Arun is definitely an Indian name...very common one. However, these kings were Hindus and I dont think there was any judaism in these parts of the country(I could be wrong though).

Hope this helps you ruling in or atleast ruling out India as the place in your memories.

Those are wonderful pictures, Believe2007 :)

Karoliina, I was just wondering - is it possible that your son's name was Aron and not Arun? Aron would fit with the Jewish notion :)

Wonderful memories, K!

It's great that you are having memories of a wonderful mother-son relationship now that your own little guy is on the way.

Makes me wonder - if as Chris suggested previously - the two of you have been together before ;)

If it was India - Arun would be right. I have a friend named Arun and he pronounces it ah-ROON. Different than Aaron or Aron. If you were Jewish the latter would be correct as Sunniva said. :)

Thanks, again!

Believe2007, the palace and the garden with the pools looked very similar to the pictures you linked to. There were also some similarities to the dress, but the ones that I saw and remember were more floaty, like chiffon. But the trousers were of a pretty similar design.

It's very interesting what you know about kings and polygamy in Rajasthan. Also the fact that you're connecting my memories to Rajasthan in general, because I've known for some time I have a PL connection there, but I thought it was only that in the 1800's in one of my English PL's my uncle lived there, and I spent some time living with him in his colonial estate and became good friends with his Sikh guard and the guard's son. But who knows, maybe I returned there then for a reason. ;)

I'm not sure if I was Jewish, but I don't think my husband was - I think he was Indian and a Hindu. I have a feeling I was born or had at least ancestors in some other place and culture (possibly Babylonia), but was married and thus had to move to another place altogether. This is why I'm puzzled by my childhood memory that seemed to take place in the same or similar pool garden. Maybe the marriage was agreed on when I was still a child, and I was taken there already then? Or maybe I got the viewpoint mixed up, and I was the mother of the memory, not the child after all?

I don't know if it ever happened that Indian rulers would have wives from different countries and religions. I still don't know the era - and if I was Jewish or not. It was just something that popped up with Babylonia at one point of regression.

I'll try to do another regression and some research soon - it's just that time is scarce nowadays. :)

Thanks again you all for your help and interest!

Karoliina

Congratulations on such a detailed recollection. At least you have lots to work with now. ;)

Having lived a lifetime amongst Alexander the Great's army myself, it is good to hear of others' having recollections of the same areas - even if it wasn't during the same time frame.

Sincerely,

Laurasia

That was an absolutely beautiful memory. I, much like soulfriendly, tend to be negative and pessimistic about life, so it is great that you had this memory that reaffirms the beauty of life/relationships.

I guess we'll have to wait some time before we know if your son shares these memories, I'm sure you'll keep us updated! And I hope to hear more about this life when you get details.

Thanks for your posts and interest, Laurasia and Ginger. :)

I will keep you updated, when something comes up. It's been a busy month, so I haven't had time yet to look deeper into this.

Karoliina

Karoliina, I have wanted to reply as soon as I read your thread. Your memories are beautiful and I am glad that you are blessed with such sweet recollections!

The reason I haven't posted before is because your memories made me think of a book I read some years ago, and I wanted to refer it but couldn't think of the name.

Today it finally came back to me - they are two historic novels actually: The Abyssinian and The Siege of Ispahan, by Jean-Christophe Rufin. They are lovely books IMO and although the story is set in the 18th century, for some reason your memories brought them to mind. I think you would enjoy them!

Thanks for sharing! :)
