Blood and thunder - my daughter's fears

I've just started reading Carol Bowman's book, Children's Past Lives, and have experienced two intensive past life session where I found out about 4 past lives and my untimely deaths. During the sessions, the past life therapist, mentioned if a child is born with their umbilical cord wrapped around their neck, it's often a sign of a previous death by hanging, strangulation, or something related to the restriction of their neck, chocking, etc. My daughter, who is 3.5 years old, was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around loosely around her neck twice. She does have a small spot on her neck, which sometimes flares up with eczema - similar to Carol Bowman's son on his wrist prior to his past life experience in the Civil War.

A few months ago, a friend of my daughter's threw a glass at her and my daughter's finger bled. The sight of the blood caused my daughter to cry uncontrollably for three hours. She is still very frightened of seeing her blood. (She fell and skidded her knee and foot last month and had me cover her foot until it healed, two weeks later.) She is also terrified of the sound of thunder. It sends her immediately crying and screaming, uncontrollably.

I am wondering how I may best help her. Or can I only be there for her and be open to hearing about her past life experiences, should they come up?

Thank you in advance. This is all very new to me and I am trying to learn as much and as quickly as I can to best help facilitate my daughter.

Well, those fears are so extremely common among children that I would be careful to impose any assumptions! I, as a child, was also scared when I saw blood and used to cry even if it did not hurt and I have no past life memories whatsoever. Also, thunder might be sacry just because it is so loud...Don´t get me wrong, some phobias in children MIGHT be past-life related but others might be just related to childhood experiences from this life...

Welcome Juliet!!

I think many children deal with these issues in similar ways. And whether it is past life or not is hard to say. Your best reaction is calm, loving assurance. Watch, listen and comfort in a way that shows her all is good, all is quite normal. Certainly keep your ears open for other references to past lives, but I wouldn't allow that to influence her at all. I'm one of those people that believe all things have purpose... and if a past life comes forward it is for a reason. It will unfold on its own without any outside influence. Some find it helpful to journal these things. You are smart to have read Carol's books on the topic, they will certainly provide guidance.

Thanks for sharing with us!!

Hi julietkang, welcome to the forum :)

Do you think these fears of blood and thunder are impeding your daughter's life in any way? As Iris said, they are both very common fears among children, but I can also understand that there's a difference between common fear and a phobia. Do you mind me asking how old your daughter is? These fears could possibly be related to a past life trauma, and if that is the case, then most children usually forget past life memories at around the ages of 6 or 7. If she's that young, then I think all you can do is be there for her and open to hearing anything she has to say related to a past life, then you can reassure her that she is perfectly safe now, and that you won't let any harm come to her.
