My memory of childhood is pretty hazy, and there are times when I wish I could remember more, but I remembered recently that when my younger brother was somewhere in the 5-7 age range he was obsessed with WWII aircrafts. He used to get books on them, collect models to create, watch all the TV shows there were, the whole sh-bang. But I can't for the life of me remember if he's ever said anything PL related in his younger years.
I bought up the planes with him recently after we found one of his world war books he owned as a kid (he's 16 now), and he took into account all of my PL experiences and came out with "Maybe I died in a plane crash."
I'm stuck between wondering if he's said this just to peak my curiosity and/or to share a connection with me via PL interests, or if he genuinely believes that he died in a plane crash in WWII.
Saying that, he's always had a fear of flying, and has been extremely sensitive to loud noises since he was born. He still to this day can't watch fireworks displays or travel by train without covering his ears because the loud sounds make him nervous and uncomfortable.
I'd like to try and coax more out of him, as I've noticed over the past half a year or so he's been increasingly interested in Germany (though he says its just because the German football team is good, I can't help but feel it's maybe a little more than that :laugh: ) and I've tried breaching the PL subject with him on many occasions since the plane crash conversation, even trying to talk to him about my own PL memories of WWI, but he seems pretty avoidant or 'uninterested' in talking about it at all.
