Can one regress/age in-session while solo (no guide attending)?

Newbie to this forum, browsing shows a widely diverse subject matter here, but nice peeps to chat with. Thanks for having me

Recently I have thought of regressing or working past lives as solo only; not assisted by another human being. Can it be done, and if so what steps and processes need to take place?

btw have been quieting my mind for approx. 47 years.
My testing to-date is lacking progress.
Your thoughts an opinions matter.

Regression is hypnosis, meaning you get into an altered state of consciousness to access information stored in your subconscious. You can hypnotize yourself, so you can regress yourself. I did it many times. Auto-regression can actually be better than when done by another hypnotist to you, because it removes that hypnotist's influence (you are in a high state of suggestibility). Be it auto-hypnosis or hetero-hypnosis, you have to leave aside all your beliefs and expectations to reduce distortions.

I did my past life regression on my own at home, only using a YouTube video to guide me. So yes you can regress alone. Past life therapy however, I don't know.

I've been doing my own PL therapy with Guides for almost 10 years now. I've had a few physical people come and go, but only two have stuck around the long haul, so yes I mostly do it "physically alone". My Guides mostly help me by me being in regular contact with them and asking them questions or asking them to show me memories. It's a real happy kick to realise something that you didn't notice in your PL, and it makes me feel better liberated and healed when I've discovered things on my own.

Open yourself up to your guides. I've spoken with people who, while they didn't play a significant part in my PL, still had something to teach me. That's really neat when that happens because they bring a different or a 'outsider's' perspective to your healing.

I wish you the best,

It can be done solo. The probability of success differs from person to person. Personally, I need triggers for success. My entire life, I've had triggers but no tools. So I relied on deep feelings of connection to certain people and places (abroad). Some speculations, some flashes now and then but not much material to work on.
The youtube videos have become a great tool for me in recent years. Still, I need triggers that stir me up first. This can be people I meet or triggering situations I find myself involved. A feeling of unease and wondering what is going on.

A good guide on Youtube will take a lot of time for relaxation. Never pick a video that is less than an hour (personal rule) because you need that time to silence your surroundings and descend to your inner self. (So many times I just used such a video to ease my mind and body without the intent of going back to a former life, just because I knew how effective they could be ;) ).

Take a look at this thread where we share our favorite videos and feed back: https://reincarnationforum.com/threads/which-self-regression-video-works-for-you.8860/

I assume by the words of your post that you are not in a psychological crisis. In that case, I wouldn't recommend doing anything solo without experience. The risk will be that traumatic experiences from the past (those often surface first when you start) will overwhelm you and make you 'crazy'. In such a case, it is wise to consult a professional who is trained to guide past life regressions. They will take care that your mental health remains healthy.

This disclaimer is important for all the other readers and non-members of this forum who accidentally visit this forum with the same question that you have. As you mention that you feel stuck in your search for memories of past lives, I presume that you are just curious and interested.

Well, just start reading our thread with recommendations and pick a video that seems to resonate with you. Sometimes you just fall asleep because of the exercises of relaxation. If you lay down on your bed with your headphones on, this will happen easily. My best regressions were done while sitting in a comfortable armchair. This prevents the association with falling asleep which happens easily when lying on your bed.

Some people get easy access to past life memories, others do not. It is also not clear to you what to expect, so don't give up too soon. Another anecdote: I did a lot (!) of trials to go back to my most recent past life, mainly because that was a great blank after I already had gained memories of much older lives. Every time I wanted to enter that life (often represented by opening a door during self-hypnosis and stepping into a specific life), I still saw a kind of emptiness and gave up. Then one day, as in a hunch, I turned my sight to what was behind me instead of staring at that emptiness. To my surprise, I saw I was in a small military airplane. There was a wooden bench along the entire belly where soldiers were sitting quietly, waiting for their turn to jump out. My own point of view was in front of the open door, looking at the empty sky (white, so maybe inside a cloud). It was my turn to jump. I had never interpreted this as such, so many times before I just gave up on a regression, thinking I failed to regress.

A suggestion might be that you first determine your own hunches about a former life. I guess you already have some intuitive feelings toward something. Concentrate on the kind of information you already possess and start a guided regression while you are in this mindset. It doesn't guarantee that you actually will get into memories of such a life but it might help. Sometimes you will be surprised by unexpected visuals and that is ok as well.

After having had some experience with those guided regressions, my mind already knows that I intend to go back in time and sometimes I get visuals before the voice of the video tells me to open a certain door to a past life. I am still walking through a landscape (part of the relaxation exercises) or climbing some imaginary stairway and some animal or person is already walking with me along my path. Sometimes I get bombarded with random visuals before completing the introduction toward the actual regression. It is what it is. Sometimes the information remains incoherent and fragmented and sometimes you experience highly coherent regressions. In my personal experience, I see symbolics or graphics (like drawings) when I encounter traumatic incidents.

What I want to say is, don't expect daily logic when you start regressing. It's not like watching a chronological video in your mind when you regress. Often, trauma surfaces first, or other highly emotional events. Sometimes people get very disturbed afterward because of that.

I hope this information serves you in you own path.

Thank you all, very nice comments and helpful thoughts to work by.
I was a bit short and to the point. I can drag on with subjects as this.

Last I recall Regression is the updated term or means similar to PL, or can be used in a sentence as PL Regression.
Anyhoo, I will be mindful of the terminology forthwith.

Brief history for this subject - stumbled on self hypnosis long ago, 21 ish I recall.
Extreme pain with no relief. Drug induced, and as all the personal stories go, I gave in and let go.
Accidentally,...... Dark room, noise was not an issue, sit with eyes closed and rock.
What I called relentless extreme pain, simply disappeared.
It would return after awhile, but found this life saving trick.
The drugs causing the issue also went away.
Years later I found I wasn't doing "many things", it was a simple quieting of the mind.
Literally that simple. Like a chanting. Lots of good data on that.

Anyhoo, 40 some odd years added, I'm still learning and exploring
Self regression, I would like to say that I coined it years ago, but I probably ready it somewhere in the 80's.
Most on this subject that I have read is guided, and guided, and guided.

I setup an audio recorder, and even added a cam later to walk through the testing.
I gained ground when I made a brief list of wants and stated them as I quieted. I noted changes and some sounds
But need the Conscious Q&A. Most of the time what is taking place within is not mentioned or recalled when in a fully awake state.
So I may be regressing, but my records are not indicating it
Did I feel better, anything change? not any more than before, and nothing noticed

Now many will state that my assigned Guides will help, hmmm. We have a love hate relationship
They are jokesters, and sometimes I ignore them for a time. Then they can become drama queens, like out of the blue a kidney stone. Really???
Yea I know... I ignored them

So every time you learn more, they expect more, or source does. it's annoying and source needs to give me a break. I'm moving, just slowly
So, if it were my idea I wouldn't even try, but I am informed that this is what needs to take place. sigh

Love the term, "psychological crisis". ha, yep that describes my existence.

So the whole term "Past Life" I have a thought.. Next post
And it may be out of context for this thread, I will gander a bit and get back.

I have guides who like to joke about too. It used to irk me, but now I just find it funny and laugh every time. I sometimes ignore my guides too, but they take that with a grain of salt because they know that sometimes I don't mean to ignore them (sometimes I purposely do because I want to learn on my own). In fact I have one guide standing beside me right now while I'm writing this, because we were doing something else and I got distracted by checking here, so I'm getting told off (heeh.)

I'm curious about your guides behaviour. My guides do get mad, but it's more or less a "milli-second" mad thing for them because they don't have the concept of linear time like we do. How long do yours stay mad?
