Childhood Vision?

I am putting this here, as this happened when I was very young, three or four years old.

We were staying at my Grandparents house. My mom had me in a cute dress and had a bow in my hair. She then took me downstairs to the hall outside the living room She wanted me to go in the living room and show off my new dress to my aunts, uncles and grandparents. I remember being scared. I didn't want to do it and hung back. Mom told me that 'its ok, they love you." So I go in the living room, but I don't see the living room as a living room. Superimposed over the living room was some kind of theater or chamber with stern and judgemental faces looking at me. They were raised up above me and I was standing there, terrified, thinking that anything I said or did would get me in trouble.

Then my aunts, uncles and grandparents all started telling me what a pretty dress, etc and that shattered the overlap and I started seeing the room as it really was. I ran back to my Mom and clung to her legs, not understanding what had happened.

Its interesting how clear this remains, well into adulthood.

Very interesting. It sounds to me like it triggered a past life memory. Maybe you will be able to get more information on that lifetime. It must have been very important and/or traumatic for you. Do you see any connections between that vision and your current life? Are you afraid of crowds?

Chryscat, Were your later relationships with these family members good? Do you have any feeling that the relatives in that room sat in judgement on you in a PL? Perhaps you faced judgement before by others? It's intriguing how vivid memories from that age can be. Did you by any chance, try to talk about the "vision" with your mother? Some would be open to listen, even to a pre-schooler, others would dismiss it. I agree with Argonne- it seems important that you somehow trace the roots of that experience.

My grandfather died just before my 5th birthday. I don't remember him that well, just that he used to rock me to sleep in the rocking chair. I had a great relationship with my grandmother until she passed when I was 16. I had a good relationships with my Aunts and Uncles right up until Grandma passed and then the usual crap started and people got greedy. Took a while to heal that.

My family were regular Christians and past life stuff was unknown to them and there for, not discussed. So I couldn't talk to anyone about it, even if I knew what to say. I have not tried to meditate on this, yet, but now I wonder the same thing. The circumstances must have triggered a past-life overlap somehow. I should try for an era at least.

I am a bit wary in crowds, its not fear, per say. The only time I was afraid as when I went to a concert and the crowd so large that I thought I was going to be trampled. I ended up on the side of a building until it was safe.

Interesting you still remember this trigger Cryscat - there is probably a reason you do...Either the relationships with the people in room did it, or the situation, like the room - people looking down at you from above, etc.

I think that it was the situation, something about it that made you feel like you were in a spotlight, and those around you were judging you. Perhaps you were in a situtation like this in a past life. It really sounds like to me that you were brought before some kind of tribunal, and you were being judged for some belief which you held dearly. Does this possibly ring a bell?

That does ring a bell, G of G. It doesn't feel like it was during the Inquisition though. It may be earlier.
