Yes, fortunately two families believe in it
Our family and my sister's husband's family. Recently, my niece Robbyn who is 4 has been giving my sister the flux. She's told my sister that her name was not Randall that her last name was something else and that Robbyn was Mrs. Randall. My sister told her her name was Randall. Robbyn insisted that my sister was not a true Randall, which is true, it's my sister's married name. She understands why her daughter said she is Mrs. Randall, because she was...Bobby Nell Randall in her past life, the mother of Rob, my sister's husband. Also recently, Robbyn told my sister that she thinks she's a mom. She doesn't know why but that she feels like she's a mom...she's 4!
Also, the last time she visited her dad's family-only twice now, she was 3 yrs old and Robbyn immediately spoke to the members of her family as if she was familiar with them. She refuses to call her Aunt Carol, Auntie. She just calls her Carol, which is odd to them because she calls everyone else Auntie. But, Carol was Bobby's first born child, so they believe that's why she doesn't call her Auntie.
She also had mannerisms that spooked the ex-husband of Bobby. He saw the way she was acting and said that she acts exactly like his former wife Bobby. Rob, Robbyns dad, has also seen mannerisms that have spooked him too, the way she turns in the mirror and tilts her head, is the exact way his mom did, etc.
His mom used to tell everyone that she would come back as his daughter. She was killed by Rob's father in front of him. She had several children, a very large family but Rob was the only one that had a separate father.
I have witnessed my niece's bossiness and telling my sister what she should be doing and how she should discipline her 2 yr old brother. My sister is frustrated with her because Robbyn keeps trying to tell her what to do. Recently, we were all in the car and my sister told my daughter a very simple explanantion of what a heart-attack is, because my daughter had used the word without knowing what it meant and Robbyn had asked what it meant. Well, my sister gave a very simple, kid-friendly answer and Robbyn said, "That's not true. That's not what it means." My sister insisted that it was, but Robbyn said that it was not the meaning. My sister asked her how she knew and she said she didn't know how she knew.
Unfortunately, we live in Colorado. We are orginally from Michigan and this is where my sister's husbands family is as well. My sister is dealing with the reincarnation of two of her husband's family members as her children. Bobby, who said she would be his daughter and has stated that she is...and Pop-pop, Rob's grandfather, who chased women and was an elderly man. They're son Jameel, sucks on his teeth, walks like an elderly man, has mannerisms like an elderly man that is not consistant with a 2 yr old. He likes to have his clothing as a t-shirt underneath his shirt and his pants pulled up to his waist. He also has been very interested in women's body parts, even at 1 yr's old, often squeezing them and making comments, like "OOh, Mommy...". He has been known to rub on women and sneak to look at women. He also likes being catered too by women. His personality is not as strong as his sister's but everyone calls him old and says he is definately an old spirit. They believe he's Pop-pop.
I fortunately do not have my ex's relatives as my daughter, so that is better for me in a way because I can deal with her as my child. But, as family and strangers have pointed out, my daughter and I act more like sisters than mother and daughter, even the way she speaks to me and I respond to her. I've had my daughter's teacher pull me aside and tell me I needed to act more like the mom-LOL! My problem with dd is that she thinks she is older and able to do what I can. She also doesn't recognize that I am her mom, she does think we're sisters and has even told people we were sisters. So for me, dealing with a 7 yr old who thinks she's on the same level as me, and who doesn't understand that she needs to take me seriously is hard to deal with, but it's better than dealing with your mother-in-law in your daughter's form!!! I told my sister not to worry, when she gets older she'll start forgetting to a point that she is Bobby. So, that brought some comfort to my sister.
