Crystals and PL dreams

Hi,

I was wondering whether anyone has any experience of using crystals to aid with past life dreaming?

Last week I went to visit a Hippy commune / village, just to be nosy, and found myself drawn to someone selling a whole variety of crystals. Despite the incredible number available in the stand, I found myself continually coming back to the same limited number - lapis lazuli, azurite, malachite and turquoise. And also one single little purple and white stone (normally purple/pink and black, apparently), which the seller said is often used to assist with finding past-life memories. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what it was called, but it began with c or k.

I found it very interesting that she would suddenly come up and say that, as I had made no indication of having any such interest. I also found it interesting, afterwards, that all of the rocks I chose apparently were highly specific for dreaming and enhancing psychic abilities, memories and intuition.

However, this was my first foray into the realm of crystals etc, and so I have no experience of considering them in this way. So I was wondering whether anybody here has, and how effective they found them, or whether there are any particular techniques for using them? At the moment I have tried just holding them in my hand, and, which may sound fanciful, but they all do make me feel slightly different.. also, whilst holding it, I made one rock change colour. It was a drab grey/brown boring little thing, but turned a beautiful violet and turquoise colour after holding it in my hands. Bornite, I think..

And while on this subject, I was wondering also if anyone has tried using red sandstone? None of the sellers had this rock, and I tried looking it up in some of their rock and crystal books, but it wasn't there. However, previously, many of my memories have come whilst in close vicinity to or surrounded by this sandstone..

You're not thinking about amethyst, are you? That's purple quartz. Normally that's used for healing. Anyway, found this link for you. Personally, I've never heard of using crystals for past life stuff, but I do think they're good for meditation and healing/chakra balancing, etc. I've heard that it's fine to just hold the crystal in your left hand as you meditate, but I've also tried putting them over relevant chakras for chakra balancing. Clear quartz is used as a sort of catch-all "chakra cleaner." Just be sure to wash your crystal in salt and water or let it soak up a lot of sunlight before you use it. :)

No, this one wasn't amethyst, though I did get myself a piece of that, too. It's name was kyanite or kyalite or choradite, something along those lines. She said it is normally black with pink or purple splashes. My colour variation of purple and white was more unusual.
 
I managed to confirm the identity of my little purple and white crystal today. Its name is charoite, and apparently is reputed to aid long-term memories and psychic abilities and past life dreaming... If anyone else has used this, or tries using it, I would really love to hear of your experiences with it.


Oh, and one other question, Jody, you said to clean the crystal in salt water before using it, but I was told to keep most of my stones well away from water??
 
Perhaps the rock "Red Sandstone" reminded you, on a sub-conscious level, of a Past Life (PL) where you lived amongst such a rock (I'm thinking perhaps, Native American or First Nation) in the Southwest of the United States, and I don't know of any crystal (stone) that actually brings up Past Lives, except to possibly help you to dream more.


I hope this doesn't get too far away from the Forum guidelines, but sunlight as well as sea salt can rejuvenate a stone and bring it back "in line", so to speak, for it's original purpose, this is just my own personal feelings, but I believe that each stone has a specific purpose or purposes, a purpose that was infused into the stone in the beginning by the Creator during it's creation.


Some stones should NOT be exposed to the sunlight, to name a few, Amethyst, Green Jade, Turquoise and Yellow Citrine, but most stones do well in Sea Salt, and others might disagree, but I like to rinse my stones under COOL clean, filtered water (I say COOL water as HOT water may damage or crack the stone) then immerse them in Sea Salt OR if not damaging to the stone, to lay them in the noon sunshine for several hours.


I made the mistake of exposing a rather large stone of Rutilated Quartz to all Three, "the Triple Whammy" of Water, Sea Salt and Sunlight, and was I ever sorry, unknown to me, being new to stones, is I ended up with a highly energized stone that I proceeded to carry with me during the day and by evening I had the worst sensation of being "Out of Sorts" is the only way I can describe the feeling.


I've become more educated in the ways and care of stones since that day, but I am still learning, and again, these comments are mine alone and not as a Moderator and your mileage may vary in your results.
 
Thank you both very much. I shall bear those findings in mind! Though at the moment, mine would be more at risk of a double than a triple whammy since there is no sunshine!


I had never considered the dream and sandstone issue in that way before, Hydroload, that is, it being around the actual rock that I might be remembering. Although, whilst you state specifically Arizona, the family I remembered, I actually managed to find on a census, and they lived on a reservation up in Montana. Although, on the other hand, I suppose I have always been fascinated by Big Bend Canyon (border of Texas and Mexico) though I've never been to the States, and have no connection at all with that area...
 
What a great discussion. I was very intrigued by your description of charoite's powers. I have a strong affinity for deep purple stones, I can't get enough amethysts around me. I love their powerful energy. Amber is another favorite of mine.


I am still trying to get beyond the state of powerful feelings and affinities for certain times and places and access my own memories as I know that is the only way to cleanse my karmic energies and acheive true enlightenment, so I am always looking for new techniques that I can try.


I've been meditating with the crystals of the Four Heavenly Guardians at each cardinal point and there are times when I am almost there, but I guess my soul is just not at the right point on its journey for those memories to reveal themselves.
 
Hi Lightwalker, by the four guardians, do you mean ruby, emerald, etc? Charoite is indeed a marvelous little stone, and whilst it has not directly accessed any further past life memories for me, it has certainly had an impact on my life.


I am over a month on now since stumbling into my crystals, and skeptic and unconfident that I am, I abandoned trying to meditate with them, since I didn't quite know what I was doing, and took instead to wearing them as a pendant. Since then, I don't know if has been as a placebo or what, but they have certainly changed my life. Or rather, I suppose, they have certainly changed me!


They have almost opened my mind somehow, made me more attuned to feelings and intuitions. Bolder and more confident. Up to doing things I would never have done, and standing up for myself, or being assertive and saying no instead of meekly obliging. Past life-wise, I have had no further DREAMS as such, but I have been able to feel/be more clearly, the view points/emotions of the people I used to dream about.


I don't know if that makes sense, but for example, say my Catherine. She grew up in Scotland and emigrated to America when her parents passed away in the 1880s. I used to dream about her life from her point of view, like, literally seeing snapshots of the scenes she was seeing. Now, the visions have gone, so I am no longer 'seeing' what she saw, but am able instead to 'feel' her reactions to what she saw and put myself in her shoes when I think about her, so to speak.


So, yes. I guess I have to conclude that crystals can affect one's ability or awareness to past life memories. At least, I think they have in my case! I would still very much like to know though whether they have for anyone else, and in what ways?
