I'd like to share a similar experience that I had with my daughter, Katia. She is 7 years old now, but when she was 3 my husband and I were going through a big marriage crisis. Ever the perceptive child, she never seemed bothered by our arguing, in fact, she was often the one to stop our banter by saying "mommy! you be nice to daddy!" Anyway, during the winter of that year Katia was very, very sick. She had a severe bronchial infection--with 102 degree fevers. It was a horrible time! Her fever would usually spike in the evening when she was getting ready for bed. One night, I decided to have her sleep with me, as I wanted to keep track of her fever and wake her for medicine. She had been very sick for about three days and I was very worried about her. That night before I went to sleep I decided to summon some devine help. I had been reading about angels and how they do not intervene unless we ask for help. In my sadness over seeing my usually happy, active little girl, totally listless...I mentally asked her guardian angels to come help her get better. The way that she looked-- I was afriad that I would loose her!
That night I had not been able to sleep very well as Katia had spent most of the night mummbling and talking...and then all of a sudden, she sat up. She was crying and waving her hands. I couldn't tell if she was in pain or scared or what! I quickly turned on the light and she looked at me like she was just beginning to recognize me again. She said "mommy ... where are they?" "Who?" - I responded. "All the angels?" I was shocked! They had answered right away! I got up to get Katia a glass of water and when I was convinced that she was fully awake I asked her about her experince. She said that the entire room was filled with angels. I asked were they babies like you see in the pictures? She replied "No, Mom they were young people" I said ... " did they have wings?" She looked at me and kind of laughed "Mom, these angels don't have wings". She said that they had come to take her skating and that they were going to take Daddy skating with them too, but, oh--she did not have time to get her skates and now they were gone."
Katia was rearing to go in about two days... but the following night she had a visit from two of her angels again. This time she was with her father... who had been very upset with her illness and our troubles. He had been keeping her company after they had read a story and they had started to fall asleep. Outside there was a huge storm and a branch had been blowing against our house. At the moment that Katia was about to fall asleep she said out loud "Oh, thank you God. Everything is going to be alright now" Mark, my husband, said that a chill ran down his back and all of a sudden the everything was silent. No more wind.
The next day she told me she had seen two of her angels again. This time it was a boy and a girl and they had come to take care of us.
Since then (and not necessarily because of it) Mark and I have worked out our problem and we are happy together. We have a brand new baby --Andrew --who was born with Down syndrome. And with some tears he has also brought all of us that much closer together. (Now I need to find out the karmic purpose of Down syndrome...because I know that Andrew is here for a special reason.)
