Do you think this could be a clue to a possible past life?

There are a lot of other things that lead me to believe my daughter had a certain type of past life, but this is one that just came to mind. She's fourteen now, and a very good student on a highly-gifted track at school. From the time she was an infant through age four, she also had a great curiosity for subjects like math, even asking me for simple word problems when we'd ride in the car. She absolutely LOVED preschool from day one, anything to learn. So, I was shocked when she started kindergarten and had great difficulty with simple reading. It was the same in first grade. Her teacher, counselor, and I were concerned enough to wonder if she was dyslexic. Then, one day, she picked up a King James bible at home and just started reading it aloud without a single hesitation. A Old King James version! It completely baffled me at the time. She read like that all summer, never had a problem the following school year, and has been an avid reader and fiction writer ever since.

It might still be dyslexia. My husband could do higher math from a very young age, but stumbled on multiplication and subtraction. One morning he was struggling his way through math class and suddenly it all became clear. It was just *snap!* and there it was. He still can't explain what happened, only that it happened. It's possible that she just had a switch turn on. Dyslexia works in funny ways.

When I was little, I was tested and found to have a "mental block" for Math, but excellent in Writing, not to mention Reading and Spelling.


So years later, my partners would do Math calculations (if needed) on the patients and I would write the run reports! :laugh:

Mental Blocks


Those sudden "on" switches for learning and mental blocks in certain subjects really is pretty fascinating. I had a mental block when it came to math from 7th grade all the way through the end of high school. But when I took the SAT, my math scores were better than my verbal, which was surprising. I took it 3 times, practicing the first two, since my counselor said students' scores typically improve 10 - 20 pts. every time they take it. My math scores were so high I got flooded with mail and applications from universities with strong engineering. math, and science programs, which I had no interest in whatsoever. Thinking back, I believe my block was more about a certain math teacher I had in junior high, who was a demanding, harsh woman with a grating voice. Before I had her, I loved math.

I'm willing to bet it was just a 'switch.'


When I was in fifth grade, I believe, I was tested and had the reading level of a third grader, but the following summer I picked up a book series that interested me and in sixth grade I was tested and had the reading level of a high school freshman! I jumped six grades in less than two years! The mind is an amazing thing. Though I don't know why an old King James Bible would interest a child like that, nor how she just seemed to pick up the ability to read it so quickly. I think it could stem from a past life, but I'm no expert. Did she ever look at it before?

Old King James


No, that's the interesting thing about it. She'd never seen or attempted to read the bible before on her own. We had a couple of NIV bibles she'd heard read by us or in church (a very non-traditional church). But we were going through a box of old books when she plucked that old worn one out. The other interesting aspect is that my daughter's now an extremely gifted singer of Christian music. She's always loved to sing, but six months ago I decided to purchase an electronic keyboard for her, with the goal of eventually getting her into piano lessons when I could afford it. She'd never touched a keyboard in her life (at least not this one), but by the end of the first week she was already playing complex, pieces, leaning more toward Bach and Handel. She still hasn't had a lesson, plays by ear, and completely shocked her voice instructor last week when she plopped down and played "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" while waiting for her to get ready. After that, several members of our friend circle pitched in to help raise funds for a piano for her.

Then, one day, she picked up a King James bible at home and just started reading it aloud without a single hesitation. A Old King James version! It completely baffled me at the time. I found as I grew up, I went through fazes where particular skills suddenly developed themselves almost effortlessly. I think sometimes it directly relates from the age you are now to the age you were in a past life when you did that same skill, but not always.


Just one example of this is: my brother & I used to make our own working bows & arrows in the back yard and 'train' to shoot more accurately. Other then this, we had never done any archery in this life. We took a beginner class at our local archery club...We set records for the class, outshot kids in higher classes who were using triggers and sights, while we were shooting the older 'instinctive' way without any of these modern extras. The teachers begged us to compete, but we just do it for fun. My brother remembers a life as a medieval archer, I have yet to remember mine...


I to this day am enjoying seeing my skills from past lives play out in my current one, though I don't always realize that's what they are until later. Last winter I had such a desire to do specifically 13th century medieval calligraphy which I easily learned how to do, and listened to the monks Gregorian chants all the time. Much later the next year, I had a flashback of a past life as a monk during that time...I just roll with it, re-learning an amazing variety of skills accumulated from many lives that seem to all have their part in this one, and enjoy the fascinating process.

This thread reinforces my belief that we can draw upon talents and skills from a Past Life (PL) to assist us in a later life.


Learning Digital Photography on my own is new for me and is an ongoing process, but my experience with silver based photography seemed to me to be built in and the knowledge remembered from a PL.


However, my love of Photography as a career gave away to a more secure career, but my love and practice of Photography has never left me!

True true..I have a talent in espionage. But I can't find a job description which gives me a good job in that. But I am the 'go to' person to smuggle objects (not drugs or anything illegal, just mangas!) in school. I can hide it better than others and I also taught others in it. I too am good in Hitman Blood Money, well the only reason why I'm caught there is just poor timing. Frustrates me, I got a wicked strategy, stopped by a on-looker there and in school, I try not to use that skill. But my sister has a crush on her ex-wife (he's a guy currently)... As she received many dreams of her or more precisely him last time. So, I decided to place both of them in a series of tests. Which in the end, I told my sister, you'll make a bad girlfriend, don't try till you get that temper in check as the poor boy will suffer.


Other than that, golf. I just started but after 3 weeks (actually I only go there on Saturday every week) I can use the heavy Iron. And its right handed.


But I have some skills wholly my own. Pen spinning


PS. Though I wish I could do Maths. I see the questions, I can feel the answer on the tip of my pencil but I can't write it and the solving methods are wrong. Most probably I used old-style.
