All of these dishes I describe here are typical German. But I acctually would correct this bacon-ting, as it was not really bacon, like most of us think about bacon today. But it was some kind of salty and smoked ham, that was fried in a pan before we put it on the hazelnut dumplings.Can I ask what country that second dish is from? That sounds delicious
We germans had a lot of very good food, you see. Sausages, steak, kraut, bread, butter, cheeses, marmelades, strudel, kuchen with fruits, berries and a lot of wipped cream... And drinks like beer, wine, weinebrandt, krauterlikör. And I remember that eating well, was a very important thing to us. Eating and drinking was said to be the porpous of life.
