Door with a Red X

I totally didn't believe in Past Lives until this past September when I had the most vivid and intense dream. It explained why I fear some of the things I do and why I hate certain kinds of movies (mostly westerns and WWII movies). I've completely changed my view point on the idea of reincarnation. It seems completely rational now.

Thanks for the link. Weird thing is I am not scared of rats whatsoever. Most people I know are scared of them but I am not. My mums cat brought a mouse home once and that didn't scare me either...

Reading about the plague is out the question.. My friend brought up a book on the plague called the great plague by Stephen porter and it made me feel really emotional and just depressed. Plus it makes me feel worse.

I however did read a book about life in the Middle Ages and I think the reason I am maybe not scared of rats is because they would of been like an everyday sight... I read that they would be running in the streets. This explains why I have no fear of them. It would of been an everyday sight and I probably would of just ignored them..

I can't bear to read about the plague... I always skip that bit out of history...

I won't deny I feel sorry for them. Out of all history they are the ones I feel for.

Sorry if this don't make sense

It makes perfect sense to me. Reading about the Plague reminds you subconsciously that you may have died from it. People were not afraid of the rats running around because they had no idea the rats were the cause of the plague. I read someplace that in some areas people noticed that Jewish neighborhoods seemed to be plague-free. They concluded the Jews had put a curse on the Christians. So then more attacks on the Jews. It turns out the Jewish areas had less plague because they practiced better hygiene and there were fewer rats running around. Superstitious Christians went around killing black cats, who were trying to keep the rats in check.

That's exactly how I feel about certain movies. WWII and Westerns turn my stomach.
Glad I am not the only one... Thanks all. If anything more comes to me I will keep going if you want me to x

Sure Della

It's all very interesting. You may find that having talked about it will make you feel a bit better about it all. Sometimes it helps.

Where did these words come from.

I don't know where this has come from but I said if anyone I care about gets ill I will not desert them. I will be there for hem no matter what. I also said I will not let them go through the heart ache of being deserted.

Another time my friend turned to put a film on about the plague and I suddenly burst out crying and said I can't bear to watch it.

All perfectly understandable Della. Maybe by working through these feelings from long ago you can eventually release them and they won't bother you as much?

Maybe slightly offtopic but first thought I got when you mentioned herbs shop and happy memory was...that maybe you had to buy them for your family? And going out to this shop was some kind of special experience for you? Especially if at this time you could not go out freely (for example as a servant).

Just a thought :)

What the hell is wrong with me!?

This is freaky and nothing has ever done this to me.

My friend came over to stay and she brought a movie for us to watch. I accepted not realising it was actually going to be about the Great Plague. I got half way through when it was wiping out most of London when I suddenly ran into the bedroom and burst into tears for no apparent reason And even as I am writing this I am still in pieces now. My friend has tried to calm me down but to no avail. She keeps asking me what is wrong but I have no explanation.

She keeps saying it was before my time and it is sad but she says she has never come across someone this emotional after watching it.

Is this normal or have I literally lost the plot.

I guess I need some one to talk to. My mate is saying I must be over tired but I know it was that film.

Thanks

Does your friend know you had a past life during the Plague? There is no such thing as coincidence. She must have "been told" to bring it because you needed to see it.

If she did know then she is cruel. Mind you I think she had a feeling about it. I think she wanted to see how I would react like. She always knew I had sympathy for them. It's weird cause got to the bit where the family was deserting a son and I just went into pieces.

That's upsetting Della. It's a stronger reaction than I've heard of before to something like this, but people often get very emotional about past life traumas. I wouldn't worry too much, but perhaps you can try not to get so upset by reminding yourself that whatever happened was a long time ago.

Since this is such an upsetting thing for you, it might be worth considering a professional regression to lay some of this to rest?
