dream triggers PL interest

Hi, I am a newbie here and have a couple of questions. I became interested in past lives after I had a particularly odd and vivid dream. I'd love to get any thoughts on this dream. I had a friend who died a few years ago. He was a very loving, spiritual, vibrant man. He was very loved and I was very sad he passed of cancer. It bothered me even more because I had been praying for him and he was such a beautiful person & he had just married his boyfriend & they were so happy. It was heartbreaking to lose him. I have been spiritually seeking for a fee years now and his death made me cynical (I didn't know it then but can see it now a few years on). So I had a dream that I was at some outdoor drive-up restaurant . And a tank full of soldiers pulls in and my friend jumps out of tank and runs up to me. Wearing full camo gear and very excited to see me. I talk to him happily and we hug and thenit occurs to me that he passed away. and I say "how can you be here? You're dead." And he smiles and leans in to whisper something to me--i recall being nervous at this point because I knew he was dead yet he was talking to me--and he whispers "it wasn't a big deal. I was kissed by Leila and then I woke up again". And then he was gone. I woke up so confused but happy I had "seen" him. I had no idea what Leila meant so I looked it up. It means darkness/night. So he was saying "I was kissed by the darkness/night but then I woke up again". It truly felt like a real interaction. and I have derived from his words that yes he died but later he woke again. Thus triggering my interest in past lives. He was not military nor was he related to anything military in life so I don't know where camouflage comes into play.any thoughts? Am I reading too much into a dream? Do friends visit us in dreams after they are gone?

Hello and welcome, TruvyShoes

What you experienced is called ADC or After Death Communication. It is very cool, he came to visit and let you know he is okay.

In Heaven we can do what we truly love and it seems perhaps your friend is now in the military. I find that interesting, perhaps in life he wanted to join but couldn't because of his sexuality and now that he is in Heaven he does not have that limitation.

Talk to him whenever you wish, he can hear you .. and he sounds like he is very happy.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, your friend did pay you a visit. Coming to us in dreams is often the easiest way for them to contact loved ones and friends left behind. What did the tank look like? WWII? Maybe that's how he looked in a past life.

Leila is also a girl's name, and the name of my best friend, so I know a bit about it. It is debated as to being Persian or Arabic in origin, and is also a Scandinavian name - spelt as Laila. In Persian it means night; in Arabic it means wine or night; and in Scandinavian it means holy. Its interesting you have spelt it Leila. Most people tend to write Layla. I do detest that version!

Thanks everyone for your insights! I did feel he was visiting me. That is so interesting, the idea that could be PL related, his military appearance. I felt like the dream was more of a real visit because I felt he spoke in code almost. Because I didn't know the meaning of the name Leila until I looked it up. And I felt the "kissed by Leila" reference was a poetic way of saying he died (kissed by the night) and he was so joyful and twinkly eyed when he said he woke up again. I am now reading Carol's book. I have to admit, I would've scoffed at the idea of reincarnation year ago. I don't know why I was close minded about it....I think our culture in America makes it seem woo-woo or kooky. But the more I read the experiences of sane, rational adults and since my dream, I am becoming a believer.

Lynette, I am not sure why I spelled it "Leila", I guess I just think it is prettier than "Layla". But my main reference for that name is Eric Clapton's song "Layla" so it is odd I spelled it the other way.
