Extremely evil people in life?

There was someone who wrote in to the forum a while ago wondering if she might have been Anne Boelyn. She certainly had many very vivid and detailed memories of King Henry's court and so on. After some discussion and a few meditation tips, she began to get more memories and more detailed memories and wrote them down. Then one time she could remember looking at the Queen and realised she had been a Lady-in-Waiting, and so had witnessed many private and public events, which had given her the impression she might have been the Queen...This in itself was quite fascinating. She wasn't disappointed, she was relieved in a way.
I call that process storytelling, because we put together what we've got thus far into a narrative.

I'm the poster child for that type of thing, because although in a prior life I was convinced I'd been Heinrich the Fowler, in this life, I had a clear flashback where I was looking at him and I know now that I was around him, but I wasn't him.

Phoenix

That is interesting Phoenix that you too had a false memory.

I think it can be explained as being a bit deeper than story telling. I guess I would like to have another word, maybe a new word to define what it is when we misremember something.. I guess I see story telling as something where you can have total control over. I feel in my cases of false memory it is not like I really planned on telling these stories... .. The story was a bit more real ..

I think it reflects our own personal stuff going on.. So for me I had to resolve " overpowering husband/ father figure " issues and so the state of Ann's life being ended by Henry got integrated into my own mind. Also I was a young female child when it happened so I was more impressionable..

This also happened as I said in another post where I had a false memory of having my leg amputated in the Civil War . In this life though I was into marrying age, but yes I was still neive and overprotected by a dominating father. This scenario of having my leg amputated was reflecting strongly a real experience of mine. Maybe it is the strong body memory that makes it hard to distinguish real from story.??

I had the false memory of Ann when I was doing mind/body therapy concerning the area of my head. It turned out the head issue was from being thrown against a wall as a child in my last life and this head banging feeling is the thing that is on my mind when I am feeling physically depressed... so that side of me having faith in life comes out through this mind / body connection. This same thing happened with my leg as well.

How about false memory being called transient core memory -- no not right..shall have to give this more thought.... The scenario of that person's life reflects our own but the totality of it means we will eventually realise that we are not that person as only part of it reflects us. And because we relate so strongly with visually seeing our and other peoples bodies maybe more so than we do relate to people's souls we are easily impressed with this image.

And doesnt compassion mean relating strongly to another persons pain.. so it is not a bad thing .. just something to become wise to and to not take on..

I didn't. I just jumped to the wrong conclusions and built up a narrative around the memory that I experienced. That's what I mean by storytelling. Storytelling is also an excellent defense mechanism. I used it to build up this really cool past life as an Allied spy in WWII who had infiltrated SS Headquarters.

False memories are just that. False.

Hi Phoenix,

I am also from the beautiful state of Michigan.

I see that you gave up gossiping and became a cruise director....grin....

Here is something I have always wanted to ask you. (I lurked for a very long time)

Marilyn Monroe's astrology chart suggests that she had taken her life as she had also done in a past incarnation. It's said that people will come back and be presented with the same problems once more until they are overcome.

In your past life you were surrounded with people who were seeking power over others and you were drawn in to that rather evil group.

Have you found that in your present incarnation you are again being tested or confronted with these same kinds of people or situations??

You don't have to going into any detail if you don't wish to.....just a yes or no would be fine with me. I don't know of a better or more honest person who would be able to answer this kind of question than you.

Best regards...Florence

Florence,

For the record, I didn't give up being a notorious gossip. It's a play on what I really am-a local journalist and police informant. I'm just feeling like Julie the Cruise director these days because of some of the things I'm involved in. Festivals, lots of festivals.

I take the rational realists view when it comes to reincarnation. I leave the whys and wherefores to the philosophers, and I don't believe in astrology.

I will say that we often repeat the same mistakes and patterns in one life, so it is hardly surprising that we would do so in more than one.

After I wrote to you Phoenix, I went to your link and THEN I realized where the gossip had come from.

I read the whole paper....it's neat...

so then what happened to you that really filled in the surrounding facts for you enough that you could tell what really happened and not assume the missing pieces?

teacup, if this is directed at me, it's to much a one-on-one convo for the topic of this thread. If you have questions, please feel free to PM me.

There is no such thing as evil people because everybody is loved the same. Being on earth is a learning experience and everybody makes mistakes. And yes everybody gets to incarnate back on earth when they want to.

The only person who judges us are ourselves, so somebody like Hitler will relive his German past life through the eyes of everybody who he hurt and it will be up to him if he wants to go back to earth and make things right again. He might take his next life or so to learn some very difficult lessons.

HI Solysombra,

I am curious -

yes everybody gets to incarnate back on earth when they want to.
How can you be so sure? The materials I have read - suggest possibilities and the case studies vary.

Everybody reincarnates, no matter who they were. It just happens.

Also, just because somebody was a bad person in one life does not mean that they're going to be the same in the next life. Sure, some aspects of your personality stay with you throughout your lives, but you are also somebody else now. You may not be even the kindest person, but just because you hurt people in the past doesn't mean that you're going to go on a killing spree in your next lives or any others.

I don't believe that anyone should have the right to judge me or anybody else for what they have done in another life.

I agree with you Lulz :)

My personal opinion is that realizing that what you did in a past life was bad, being repelled by it, and yet being able to forgive that person, and in a way yourself, is a great karmic lesson. If there is no evil, then how do we know what is good? If we don't see what is wrong, then how do we know when it's right?

I am not saying evil actions are justifiable, but we must learn from them. Afterall, unforgiveness and a lust for vengeance is what has caused most conflicts in history.

I agree .. We are born into different circumstances , not always in our control . This environment molds our characters. But the wisdom of love comes from our own makings. If we work at it we grow in love . That is not dependent on our environment .It is the responsibility of each soul for their own growth.

I dont agree. We are all feeling beings. Love is the thread of life. We all have our right to feel. It is wrong to assume we should all forgive and forget. We are all growing in time.. and their is a heck of alot of that before we find perfection.

Judgement is not a dirty word. We need to discern evil and want to learn to stand up against it , in honour of love and goodness.

What we have done in our past does remain in our karma. If we do not make amends in our present

for our actions our journey will come about to having to make amends in some way in our future .. IT is through what we do that we make amends , not just what we say.

An example .. My mother has her nasty side of her. She poisoned me with hemlock? in a past life. She is continuing to poison me now with her toxic heart. That aspect of her has not changed . She suffers from jealousy.. a lack of self esteem about her own abilities.

I believe she will continue to have that core belief if she does not change it in this life. If I do not claim and judge that poisoning and stop the abuse it hurts me.. Me standing up to it does not necessarily change her.. I can only do so much and it is not my responsibility to change her. I have learned to not carry any guilt for not being able to help her now. I too am not perfect , am not wise and am still growing.

Her anger may not manifest the same way ,, but it has its same affects of destroying someone's soul--if not mine then someone elses. It is up to her to realise her faults and to take major action to change it .

We do not change our inset patterns by just thinking about it . It takes action and intent to take any movement forward .

I do not hate her for it.. now that I understand where it coming from. Before doing therapy work I could not see her poor self esteem. She hid it well behind her bravato exterior. Now seeing that she has this attribute I now to judge it for what it is and protect myself against it.

Emotional abuse can be just as destructive . Emotional abuse is still here with us .. or else we would all be living in heaven here on earth. I would not have learned to see that she is poisoning me until I reached a certain point of wisdom. Growth takes time . If we are truly loving then and only then can we expect total forgiveness.

We are all feeling beings.
Yes, we are. Including those who have done some not so wonderful things in past lives.

It is wrong to assume we should all forgive and forget.
Forgiveness is the basis of many wise teachings, along with compassion.

One cannot exude love if one is harboring judgment against another in their hearts. One is not living a life of honor and goodness if one is mired down in negative emotions. Forgiveness releases the hurt - heals the soul.

It's my belief that the act of not forgiving is more damaging to you - than to the person you are holding a grudge against. Holding onto it just draws more negativity towards you. It keeps you trapped in a cycle of anger, resentment and negativity, bound to the victim role, instead of rising above it. It takes great strength and courage to forgive, imo, - but it is the ultimate healer. ;)

I believe we should all pursue forgiveness and try our best to acknowledge other people's quest for it.

We all have our right to feel.
Certainly we do and this right must be, and is, respected, but it is a dual action.

It is wrong to assume we should all forgive and forget. We are all growing in time.. and their is a heck of alot of that before we find perfection.
Perhaps it's just the way you're phrasing it, but I think we definitely should assume forgiveness. I personally find it a very wrong approach to blame a person in the present for what they did in a past life. How can they possibly be responsible for what happened? A fitting analogue would be the numerous cases of people not being able to differ between an actor and the role the actor played. How many times do you think Jennifer Aniston has been called 'Rachel' on the street? I actually remember her telling in an interview how people wrote her hatemail to tell her how awful they thought she treated 'Ross'. But obviously Jennifer Aniston was noway responsible for Rachel's actions and could do nothing about.

Of course this is on a lighter note, but I think the principle is the same.

Forgiveness is, imo, one of the most beautiful things among humans. Forgiveness is not necessarily love, it is compassion and empathy. It is what makes people big, what makes them progress. If you forgive then you are able to move on, leave the pain behind, let the wound heal. Let me stress, forgiving is not the same as forgetting, not in the least. Unforgiveness on the other hand is destructive and it keeps you in a pattern of negative thoughts and pain.

Just my 2 cents ;)

Yes it does take great courage to forgive. It also takes wisdom. And wisdom takes humility.. ie knowing when you cannot handle pain and cannot forgive.. It is a nice thought to forgive everything.. just not practicle. If we deny our true feelings we will be surprised when we really face our death..

Sure, we all have the right to feel certain ways, but nobody should be looked at in a bad light because of something that they did in a past life. Their present self cannot help it. They can't change it. What they can do is learn to live with it, not hate themselves for it, and learn from the mistakes that they have made in previous lives.

Although we may have been "evil" in a past life, if that's what you want to call it, we are not going to be "evil" for every life from then on.

I do want to call it evil. One more life of being that is too much for anybody .

This is such an interesting thread. I myself agree with others that reincarnation is just the way that it is. Our true inner selves goes on which means after one body passes away, we come back in another body and continue on with all life that life brings.

But on this topic of extremely evil people - what would be exactly evil and what would be good? For this does differ among different cultures today and thru history. For there have been some people like Genghis Khan for instance that has been portrayed by westerners as so evil but is treated almost like a God if one goes to Mongolia. History is always written by the victors and not the losers. And how would Hitler been portrayed today if Nazi Germany had won WWII. He would probably be portrayed in a completely different limelight. And doesn't each one of us have a mixture of both good and evil which makes us who we are. I remember some Star Trek episode in which Captain Kirk was divided up into two people of which one was his good self and the other his evil self. And the crew had to somehow get the two selves back together for them to have who they knew as Captain Kirk back again. But do think that when it comes to Judgement and Forgiveness, it is us ourselves which can be the harshest of critics on our ownself and our misdeeds.

And will just add some thoughts from Joseph Campbell. He was someone who deeply studied Mythology and what it means as t comes to the Human Psyche. I have loved Joseph Campbell. This comes out of the book, 'Reflections on the Art of Living, A Joseph Campbell Companion'.

The warrior's approach is to say

'Yes" to life: "Yea" to it all.

Participate joyfully in the

sorrows of the world.

We cannot cure the world of sorrows,

but we can choose to live in joy.

When we talk about settling the world's problems,

we're barking up the wrong tree.

The world is perfect. It's a mess.

it has always been a mess.

We are not going to change it.

Our job is to straighten out our own lives.

Then I will continue on with one thing more from Joseph Campbell and a story from his life when he went to India and met with some guru. His question and the guru's reply I do think is something to consider when we think of life, good, and evil.

" Two days later, I was invited to meet the guru. if you're on your right track, that's the way it goes: doors open miraculously. So I went to a lovely cottage, and at the door was an Indian with a long, white beard. he said, "The master is upstairs." I went up to an attic that was perfectly naked except for two chairs. Atmananda was seated in one, and I was to sit in the other, facing him. I mean, it was a real confrontation.

He said, "Do you have a question?" I had the good fortune, I later learned , to ask exactly the question that had been his first question to his guru, so we had a very good conversation. When we'd concluded, he said he had now to go down to his class. He dismissed me, and I thanked him. Now, I had made arrangements to meet some members of that class in a coffee shop after the class was finished. When I came in, one of them said, "The master said you are on the brink of illumination." Why? Because of the question I had asked.

My question was this: "Since all is Brahma, all is divine radiance, how can we say 'no' to ignorance or brutality or anything? His answer was: "For you and me, we say 'yes'."

Now done with Joseph Campbell and just my two cents worth for this thread. Hope you enjoy and it helps you out as it has helped me since I first read this! Have a Good Day!

Maybe, but one life being that way shouldn't condemn somebody.

I like this idea from our friend fiziwig: there is only one soul and we truly are the same thing. We are each other.

How can we condemn our own self? Love is the medium in which we exist in eternity and Eternal Love overcomes all else. There is nothing greater.

This thread is being closed - since it has run it's course. ;)

Stardis...nicely said. :D Fiziwig has a way with words. ;)

kmatjhwy I enjoyed the read. :)
