Film Evocative of Pre-War Germany

I found a documentary called, "The Double Headed Eagle: Hitler's Rise to Power, 1918-1933". The interesting thing was that the entire movie was actual footage shot in Germany between the Wars. I know that we have many members who were alive in Germany during that period, whether civilian, or military, Jewish, or National Socialist. I thought the film might serve as an excellent memory trigger, and was a good illustration of what life was actually like in that time. It was interesting to watch, even for someone like myself, who is just trying to gain a better understanding of history. I recommend this film to anyone with an interest in the period.

I found the film on Netflix, and forgot to mention the source. I'm sure it can be found elsewhere. By the way, welcome to the forum, GreenFace.

Although I really like to see documentaries about that era ... It usually annoys me that they are absolutely partial, and only describe the view from one side ...

These documentaries almoust never explain the real reason how it was possible a man like Hitler came to power ...

But yes... they are an excelent memory triggers... :-)

I sympathize with your plight. I have found a few that attempt to be impartial. I think the movie I cited was mostly in German, and a portrayal of daily life. The generations of Germans following the War seem to be as divided and conflicted about the causes and events of the War as everyone else. I seriously doubt that many of them were even German during WWII. My understanding of reincarnation is that souls change nationality at will. I am not European, so you undoubtedly have greater understanding of the continent, and it's politics than I do. I'm making a study of the War for my own purposes. There are always more sides than one, and living in truth demands that I try to understand them.

I think the Great Depression is one of the main reasons Hitler was able to come to power. The Depression affected the whole world, not just the U.S. Also the French and British demands regarding war reparations via the Versailles Treaty were very severe. In the 1920's Germany had run-away inflation which left many families destitute. Then you get a charismatic leader like Hitler (family name had been Hibler previously) who comes along and promises them the Moon. People thought "What do we have to loose?" Another thing most people are unaware of is the fact Hitler and many top Nazi's were Austrian, not German. The Austrians were the main anti-Semites, the Germans not so much.

Their is even something scarier if you up anything

more Hitler back then.

Hitler and the Occult I have the

dvds about his obsession with the occult

I had couple sleepness nights watching

did he did behind closed doors to all

people he hated .I seen photo's.

It's mere drop in the bucket what his army did.

It's well known that the Nazi's were into the occult. I think they were hoping to use it to their advantage. This is why they stole the swastika. The swastika was an ancient good luck symbol. The Nazi swastika is turned around backwards.
