Flapper Girl - 1920s Era

Now thought I would post this. Lately it seems it has been coming to my recollection that there is a past life as being a Flapper Girl in the 1920s or so era. There has been some signs of this for years but only now have been seriously looking into them. Years ago I collected briefly several barbie dolls and one that I just had - just absolutely had to get was the Flapper Girl barbie. It could also be involved possibly with the Ziegfeld Follies (???). But it seems whatever life was in this era, I must of died really young it seems. But as of late when looking deep withen, do see several little signs that point in this direction which I find interesting and which does makes a lot of sense it seems. How much have these signs been buried beneath my love affair for everything Native American and the wild wilderness west but it is there. In this life am so conservative it seems also and this was not the way I was raised. Could say more on some on the various subtle signs but will let it be with this. Something am deeply exploring currently.

Now there is this youtube video on those who died who were involved with the Ziegfeld Follies. When I saw this yesterday, I ended up crying and crying and had to watch again and again which I thought was interesting. So there must be some connection in all of this. It is entitled 'Beautiful and Tragic {Ziegfeld Girls in Memorium}'.

Is there anyone else here who could of been a Flapper Girl and/or possibly involved with the Ziegfeld Follies do wonder?

Wishing Everyone the Best!

Now do think there is really something behind this. Spent sometime after that first post watching several more Youtube Videos on the Ziegfeld Follies - when I watch a real deep and profound sadness comes over me and I end up just crying and crying it seems.

Another video is entitled: ' A Tribute to the Women of the Ziegfeld Follies'. Have already seen this one today how many many times. When I watch just look deeply into the eyes of these ones in the photos.

Now this was just the other day after getting in town from another wilderness sojourn on a whim checking this out. Since then Jeminy Crickets but this is all that has been on my mind. And indeed if so then guess someone on the other side thought I might be ready for this I guess! But there is some pain it seems involved. Could say so much more but will keep it at this.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

I lived the 20's as posted .

Well, not it's easy I was not flapper per say

Think some of us really didn't like the label of Flapper.

I wore clothes from what I remember some clothing

some I would not wear.

I went to parties lot's became boring for me.

Sang by myself at theaters no dance numbers etc.

My friend was a performer at a like ziegfled follies.

For me I look of pictures of anything 20's on google

I typed in 1920's actress pictures way too much.

Alot feelings came thru the other night.

I might known some in those pictures.

My journey started many years ago .

Just last year a fuller picture is coming through.

Now thanks for both of you for what you posted. And Thanks for that story Tanguerra of that recent life of yours - Wow!

Now as for myself, do know that there is something definate about all of this. When I was young before I ever went on a long wilderness hike, there is a part of me that really wanted to be a fashion model. My mother was so disapproving of any of that sort of thing it seemed and thought it was akin to prostitution. There are little signs buried deep inside that do see that point in this direction.

This brings to my mind with all of our various multiple past lives, how much are each of us are such multi-faceted people. And in any life, how many various and different paths each of us could pursue with picking up some thread from some former life.

Now some of those Ziegfeld Follies Videos really does hit 'Home' in some sort of way it seems. How many of those girls did die young also. It seems to me that whoever I was, did die really young also in that life it seems. There has been a whole lot of questions I have had on my more just recent past lives it seems with how little do I know.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

The 20's I believe was really too fast for alot people

especially young impressionable women

trying to make in the medium at silent movies

and fashion modeling nude modeling as the last

resort for most.

I hope you explore more from that past life from that era.

There are alot untold stories lost by time.

There few people here that posted they had past life

in 20's post little an disappear:confused:

Shadows, Yes do agree with what you are saying on how that time period was too fast for alot of people. Now things have been coming to me but will keep them to myself for right now. I find it interesting and it is indeed answering some questions that I have had.

Now thought I would post something on this today. Yesterday I went and did that Brian Weiss Self Regression thing where the link to this is here somewheres. A few things did indeed come to my mind which will share.

Now as for myself it seems as if I have an adventurous soul and willing to go for something that is new it seems. Now in the self regression I saw New York City in the late 1920's which I thought was interesting. Then I saw some theater filled with people. Guess very possibly I was here in the Zeigfeld Follies in some way with the Flapper Girl nightlife here in the 20s. In going thru those videos, they put me in a kinda sort of trance it seems and do see things also. When I go thru these videos, am soooo unable to keep a dry eye and end up crying and crying. I see the fast paced life with the shows and all the people. But I also had my friends in that life and we would do things together. And then there was all the nightlife. And being so young with all the dreams for the future. Then something happens and this life is cut short. There is some real sadness and heart break here at the end of this life with everything and with this life being cut short it really does seem. Guess with the sadness that is involved I really tried to bury this deep withen. Still hope to know more on this life and how this brief life effects me today in this life.

And in seeing New York City in that little self regression thing. Later did a search on Google on images of New York City in the late 20s and interesting to see the similarities. Also interesting in the self regression thing as for the theater and how this was indeed kinda similar to one where the Ziegfeld Follies was held there in New York City.

Also to remark, guess with the fast pace of what this past life involved. My soul turned it's back on the city with the fast pace. For the life after this, went back to the Cheyenne and had a life on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana. But that life also was cut short with dying of tuberculosis. And guess to this day, my back is turned against the fast pace of the city with staying close to the mountain wilds even though there has been a choice to follow that other path if I so desired. Now thru this it does answer various question inwardly that I have had. Also it is illuminating to me how in each life we have various choices and paths that we could pursue if we so desired even though one path or another path is more predominate.

Now like I said hope to know so much more on this brief life and how this life effects me in this present life today. This is just what has come to me and what have seen. Always looking to know more and to have further confirmations as to any of these my past lives.

Hope this makes sense. Wishing Everyone the Best!

If it were me, I would use New York theaters that were in operation in the 1920s as a jumping-off point for research. Looking through whatever photos you can find. You may see one that jumps out at you, rather than being just sort of like it.

Architecture and interior decorating follow trends like anything else, so several theaters could look similar.

Guess now in my mind today am slowly returning to this modern era. Since this came up to the surface of my mind, it has been like a flood it seems and it seems like I have been living lately back there in the 1920's wth all of this. It has been something like an spiritual earthquake it seems when the facade of this present era was broken and all of this came rushing out like a breaking of some dam. All I have seemingly been able to do it seems as of late is to live and breath back there in the 1920s. But over the weekend did somehow manage to do some hiking. So maybe time for another good wilderness sojourn.

Now as for myself on this, would like to say this. For quite sometime I really knew there was a past life back here in this time period. I would be thinking of my past lives and asking questions. And it would pop into my mind about a past life as a flapper girl in the 1920s. But as soon as it popped into my mind, I somehow would let it dissipate from my consciousness. Guess with the pain involved and such, there was a part of my inner self which did not want to face the issues and everything which this past life brought to the surface. But the other day when it popped into my mind again, I thought 'Yes', 'Yes' I would look at it. Then once that I started looking at some flapper girl images and photos from the 20s, it came like a flood. Guess this past life really wanted to come up to the surface of my consciousness. It has been amazing. This past life does answer sooooo many questions that I have had in many a way as to concerning this present life and as to some of my more recent past lives.

Now another hint that somehow I never mentioned and is related to this past life as a flapper girl and indeed as a Ziegfeld Follies girl was how one of my most favorite movies ever was the movie 'Flashdance'. I let you to see how the two would be easily connected. This again was one of my most favorite movies after I first saw it.

Stellaria, Yes have been going thru images on the internet of some of the theaters in NYC. The photos of the New Amsterdam Theater really clicks for myself. The Ziegfeld Follies was held here on quite a few occasions which I find interesting. It is still up and running there in New York City.

Now so many images have come to me on this life. I was laying in bed last night just letting things come to me. I could hardly go to sleep. How many times recently have I looked thru various photos and videos back to this era. When I do I can hardly keep a dry eye it seems. When I had that self regression several days ago, I found myself even mumbling several persons names at times in the regression. Also do believe I know who I was in this past life but will keep this to myself for now. But if indeed so then there were certain physical features in her photos and myself that are exactly the same physical features which I have had, with espicelly in my youth it seems, which do find interesting. In all of this would ask for some confirmation then some other little thing as concerning this person and this life as to myself would pop into my mind. There are other things that have come to me thru all of this which for now will keep to myself. But all of this has really been illuminating personally to me even more in some ways on this whole process of reincarnation and just how real all of it really is.

This again answers for myself so many inner questions that I have personally had it seems. Guess might have to take a trip to New York City one of these days. Personally in this life have never been to this big city.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

I don't have anything to add, other than I can not think of anyone who has displayed "opposites" with such intensity and verve before. It makes for interesting reading!

Look up Jeanne Eagles from that era

she had to fast and hard life.

It's so many of girls got burnt out at such a young age

I was one of them but, I had alot other things going

besides drinking and drugs in that life.

Hi Shadows! Yes I looked up Jeanne Eagels. Do you know that at onetime there was rumored to be a 'Ziegfeld Curse' because so many of the girls had died young or had died in some tragic circumstance. And then there were those which afterwards died in proverty and obscurity with only their photos remaining. And I guess in that life was one of those who died young.

Now do think it was this whole time period that was at such a fast and hard pace. Here was the 20's framed by WWI and then afterwards the depression with then WWII. At this time consider all that was going on with prohibition, the speakeasies, the beginnings of the various gangsters and rum running, and such. Then there was all the change that was happening in society at that time with the new airplanes, the Model T's, women getting the right to vote here in America, the beginnings of the movies, and everything. Also like always in every era there were those who tried to go for it in anyway they could. Such an interesting time in history.

Be aware that some flappers were in a word

dangerous. As I said some where.

Some women carried knives, letter openers,

and small guns on our person or in a purse

I carried a gun and letter opener.

Alot men could not, deal with the new independent women.

No man or morals to hold me down.

From what I want to do.

A little song sample I wrote.

Ever watch Ken Burns Prohibition and the Jazz Age?

Prohibition started the ball rolling for me.

Shadows, Yes I have seen that Ken Burns documentary. It was on the PBS station here locally this past spring and watched the whole thing. This whole time period was interesting with all that was going on. Personally I think there is still quite a few men who cannot deal with an fully independant woman. But this is just my thoughts.

Now it seems I had lost my father when young and when I was discovered by Florenz Ziegfeld, the family moved to New York. It seems with myself, since I was young, with it all remained close to my mother and the family with helping them out thru it all till my early death.

Do you know quite a few saloon girls in the old west would carry a small pistol for their defense also. So this in the 20's with women carrying a small pistol to defend themselves was nothing new. I have been to the huge gun museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wy. It is really something else! There was a story I heard where in the mid to late 1800's, a really small pistol was being produced in the east. This really small pistol became popular among saloon girls in the west. The one who produced this small pistol later became absolutely shocked when he found out that so many saloon girls in the west were buying and using his small pistols for their defense. In the cities and nightclubs, it has always been an atmosphere where one had to watch themselves it seems.

Now for whatever it might be worth. Yesterday was going around and doing some things and then it suddenly occurred to me that one of my principal health worries I have in this life, is directly linked to how I died in this past life. I had to pause and consider it all. Whenever I do go to the doctor which is not often for am really healthy, I acquire on this. And his reply is always on how I am fine and not to worry. We have known each other for years. I think this is interesting how these little things that are in our present lives in some way and are past life related.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

Now since I posted the above, so much has come back to me as concerning this life. It has all been soooo interesting! It is like so much as the lost piece of the puzzle that I had been looking for in a big way. It seemed how much was there right under the surface just waiting for me to say 'Yes' to this life and the memories. And once I did here came the memories like a flood.

Recently bought several books as concerning this life. One was: 'Supreme City, How Jazz Age Manhatten Gave Birth to Modern America'. In this book there was a photo of New York City at the time whose name was Jimmy Walker. When I saw his photo it was like my eyes popped out of my head and how much it seemed I knew him in some way. Jimmy Walker was known as a real nightclubber during this time in the 20's - late 20's. He was the mayor of New York City from 1925 to 1932 or so. The other book is: 'Jazz Age Beauties, the Lost Collection of Ziegfeld Photographer Albert Chaney Johnston'. So interesting! Yes photos of my former Ziegfeld Follies self are in the book it seems. Also how much it is the same with the photo of Albert Chaney Johnston with to my recollections and memories of him that has come to me. And interesting as to former friends and people I worked with. Could say so much more but will leave it at this for now.

Again all of this to me has been like finding that lost piece to the puzzle that I had been looking for.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

I wonder if your life in the Roaring 20s as a dance where you would have been so out in the public all the time is a basis for your need and happiness to be in the wilderness alone?

I kinda connect that to my previous life as a prostitute where that life was about sexuality and this one ... isn't.

Mama, it is kinda like that. I have always loved those things that one would see during this time like Model T's, the early planes like bi-planes, the early telephones and such. I have an adventurous soul it seems and went for this - something new with all the new society things coming in. The life before this one in the little I know, it seems possibly I died with a real dissatisfaction with life in the San Francisco Earthquake. Lots of questions as to that life. So my soul went for this other path it seems.

But onething that got to me with this life in the 20's is that I would have really seen all the many many games that people play in society. Here it was in the big city during the roaring 20s with prohibition, the rum running, and everything. Then being a pretty and young Ziegfeld Girl with being courted by how many of those that were rich and such to the nightclubs and speakeasies all the time. So could really see all the games that people would play and all. So after having a lifetime passing away wayyy before my time and experiencing all the games that people play, I decided to come back here to the west and the wilderness where things are real and not the many games that people play. Then the life after this one in the 20's, was back with the Northern Cheyenne in Montana but that life also was cut wayyy short with me only in my teens. How many times have seen myself and such it seems as a composite with these two separate past lives as being one past life. Could go really deeply in here. Here as for myself there were two past lives and not just one. One as a pretty and young Ziegfeld Girl in the big city then the next as a Northern Cheyenne Girl with both dying in my youth with my life in so many ways still in front of me as for both of these lives.

Now in this life I absolutely love it here in Jackson Hole, Wyoming! There is the bars and the music, the people, and such if one so desires. But all around is the wilderness wilds as it has always been and true reality. And it seems many people here desire the same things in life as I do with being close to the wilderness wilds. There are many similar souls here it seems. And even my landlord here in Jackson. He believes in Reincarnation and we talk of this often between us. He says he was a black kid here in New York during this same time and died in his teens.

The saddness comes in with a heart break at the later end of my life with also then being cut down in life at such a young age when I had so much going for myself and was acheiving my dreams and aspirations in that life. And then what the future afforded me for where I was headed in that life. Then also being cut off with my early death from my family and some really really close friends that I had in that life.

And to finish, now a few days ago while I was hiking, was meditating on all of this. And then it was shown me how now in this present life and now as I am getting older, how I have become and am sooooo content with life - with everything as in my present life is concerned. And isn't this where we are really sincerely happy, content, and enjoying life what we really seek in our incarnations.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

Eventually I feel you find a picture of yourself in that

life. try google .

I showed a picture of past life in 20's to friend

recently. He said it's you.

I am still learning more I don't think will

ever be closed book on my life back then.

Even though writing one.

Now Shadows, I mentioned this in post #12 above. But I sincerely believe that I know who I was in this past life with knowing my name and coming across photos of this my former self as a flapper girl. It is really interesting but there are various certain physical features which she had and which I have had as relating to the physical self which I find really interesting. Some of the features were it seemed more prominent in my youth then it is today in my older age it seems. Also as of late there were times when I would ask for some confirmation if I was truly such and such. And then various little things would flood my mind. But right now am just keeping this to myself personally.

Now as for the Northern Cheyenne girl, it has been some years ago that I visited the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana. This has been the only time in this present life that I have ever visited this reservation. But when I did I felt like I was soooo much back 'Home'. And this feeling of being back 'Home' stayed with me the entire time I was on this reservation. Then when I visited the local cemetery I practically almost like walked right up to this girl's gravesite and I had never been in this cemetery before. She died like a year to a year and a half before I was born which I find interesting. Anyway I thought I would never come across a photo of her. But the other day I indeed came across a photo of her and her family. I have also not posted the name of the person or the photo of this person either with right now keeping it to myself also. I really would like to visit again the Northern Cheyenne Reservation there in Montana sometime.

Now to finish, sometime ago I had a dream in where I saw one past life of mine after another come across in front of me in the form of a photo of my past life self. It seems in the dream I was seemingly floating out in the astral plane at the time. For in the dream was seemingly floating out in space with the starry background beyond in what I remember. But here then one after another came various photo images of various past lives with one right after the other. In the dream I wanted all the photos as they came across to sooooo slow down where I could linger and view each one as long as I desired. Then lately here in June it seemed as if suddenly here in my conscious mind so much has been coming to my conscious self various things as to my various past lives. It has not been only with this flapper girl life but a number of various past lives of mine. Maybe there is a possibly deep connection between the two.

Wishing Everyone the Best!

Hi, I am very late to this thread lol but I also had a life in the 1920s among Flapper culture.

In that life I actually started as a rural farm girl from Nebraska. Around 1910, when I was in my late teens, my mother and my younger sister and I all moved first to Omaha and then to NYC because we couldn't stay on the farm. Mother worked in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory when the fire broke out, and she didn't make it. In my grief I started drinking.

I think I became a Flapper (not sure how I felt about the word then, or even now) before the '20s, maybe around '17 or earlier. I don't remember much about the 1910s. During the '20s I frequented speakeasies and jazz clubs, and I was an avid fan of movies and talkies. At some point I got into show business, possibly as an actress. I see dressing rooms and stage lighting for sure. I also spent a little time living in New Orleans around 1929.

When the stock market crashed and the Great Depression began, I had to go back home to the family farm in Nebraska. I died before WWII ended.

So that's my 1920s past life. :)
