I first read this in the early 80's during very mystical time in my young life after a profound 'near-death' experience and it has stuck with me. At the time, I worked in retail and the owner of the retail outlet noticed a trend. I was new and being transferred from one store to another. He noticed that whatever store I transferred to - the profit had a sharp increase. In fact, they admitted they were transferring me around so much to see if it was a fluke or if I had something to do with it. When they asked me about it - I told them, "English is my second language. Math is my primary language because that is the language I speak when I am home." (I was referring to the NDE.)Plato, also, the most opulent thinker of antiquity, found in geometry a revelation of the Infinite Mind, looking upon it as the very essence of religion, the knowledge of God. “What does Deity do all the while?” one of his pupils asked him. “God is always geometrizing,”........
I was promoted to Manager and had the highest commission in my area. All the Supervisors where trying to get the other Managers to share my 'trade secrets' about getting such a high profit margin on my P & L's. I would tell them the truth - and they would think I was pulling their leg in an effort to get them to make a fool out of themselves and have their 'bottom' line take a nose dive. These were professional minds in the trade and yet they thought my ideas were radical and unconventional even with proven results. Their (older) minds couldn't grasp the language of numbers as I did. I was aiming at 'lower' numbers rather than the 'higher' numbers. They were allowing their 'greed' for profit blind them to the simplicity of 'less is more.'
There was a parable in the theme of 'mystical mysteries' because I found the average person couldn't grasp the 'non-logic' of spiritual truths. Sometimes, logic becomes the biggest stumbling block when searching for 'truth' or - what is real and what is deceptive in the 'state of illusion' the physical plane is all about. Just as some people had a mind to grasp math and some didn't - I felt some minds could grasp the mysteries and some didn't have a mind for it. I stopped talking about both - and just kept the info to myself after awhile.
Recently, I befriended an older man who plays the lottery games. That is an 'astronomical' equation with odds that the length of it could wrap itself around the universe several times. I mentioned something off the top of my head and he looked at me like I had lost my mind. I told him there was a way to stack the odds in the lower (3 and 4 digit) games to 50/50 if you played it right. (Less is more.) I went in search on the Internet for a "human" mathematical equation to prove my point. I felt someone had to have written this equation down somewhere (to prove my point to my older friend.) I couldn't find it written down anywhere. So - I started experimenting with it - on a spreadsheet and proved my point to my friend. (It is the art of randomization and how you can produce the same effect in an opposite direction.)
The whole experience reminded me of the obstacle of 'religion' is to many people's minds and how some religions 'sell' the idea of 'heaven' - similar to 'winning the lottery' - the whole pulling the 'wool' over your eyes. (Every non-believer will have their eyes opened to the truth when they pass over where reincarnation isn't a theory as much as it is a fact.)
His arguments and debates with me - in the process - just reminded me of the encounters I had with 'closed minds' about how God gemetorizes and there is no such thing as chance. I wrote a blog post because I am a little long winded at times. The story can be found at "God is always Geometrizing". It was funny how researching lottery players reminded me of 'reincarnation' and how organized religion is selling 'dreams' and 'tickets' to heaven where (supposedly) 'reincarnation' don't exist. The world is constantly looking at the 'truth' backwards because worldly minds want it to make 'sense' in a logical way.
Sincerely
