how do i know

My son is always talking about the boys that beat him up bad and made him go away and never never come back. He at times gets really animated hitting himself on his head and chest to show me what they did. He also was born with a scar on his chest below his right breast. Now what makes me not sure on weather this is his imagination or this is what happened is that he sees these boys in his room at times and becomes terrified and we have to turn on the light for him and at times block one corner of the room. He is three years old and has just recently started talking about the big boys but has had a problem with boys in his room for awhile. Any opinion are appreciated on whether you belive this to be imagination or rememberances. THanks Kandi

Kandi, how old is your son? My first thought was that in the past 4 or 5 years, I think, I'm not sure how long exactly---I think there were a couple of cases where bigger boys (pre-teens or teens) beat up and killed a couple of little kids. I think one case was in England and one case was on the east coast of the U.S.

In the American case, it took place in a mall; a 3 or 4-year old little boy was taken by older boys, beaten and left for dead. There was a recent article re-relating this because, if I remember correctly, the boys are up for parole.

As far as his "seeing" the boys in his room, he's probably getting visions of them out of his memory.

Have you read Carol's book? It gives a lot of indepth advice on how to handle the situation when your child relates bad memories. A pivotal thing to remember is that you should assure your son that he is *safe now.*

My son will be 4 on May 22nd. If you come up with any info on where I can find any article about the boys beating up another boy could you please let me know. This is all new to me Im kinda confused and scared cause he will actually cry at times when he talks about being kicked and punched and stomped on. Thank you for you reply

sorry i forgot to add no I have not read Carols book but have been seeing alot about it that I do plan on buying it.
 
In 1992 two British boys of around 10 or may be 11 , kidnapped and killed a baby called James Bulger in Liverpool.
James was about 2 when he was taken from his mother in a mall and taken away to be eventually murdered .
One of the boys was called Jon Venables .
The way they killed James was simmilar to what you describe .
As far as I know the killer boys are still in prison .

Baby´s mother name was Denise.

Well being from England, I know all the details of the horrendous case of Jamie Bulger and would be more than willing Kandi to discuss the possiblities with you, based on what your son has already expressed....it was a very, VERY wicked attack though that resulted of course in his death at two years old...it went far beyond simple punching and kicking....far, far beyond.

The two boys responsible were Jon Venables and Robert Thompson...I wonder has your son offered up any details beyond the boys beating him badly and sending him away??? I'm sure there are many cases that out there - worldwide - that all have cases similar to what your son is describing, so I wondered if you had gained anything further from him???

That terrible case triggered in Argentina a discussion on what is the minimun age requiered to be considered responsible for a crime ? , and the discussion is still there .

It also was very impressive as my daughter was also two by that time.

Regarding case of the two boys murdering that young toddler in England...I think I remember reading that those two boys were soon to be released, if they haven't already.
