How to make peace with your past?

Ankhe

New Member
There is something, I feel is connected with my past life, which is a reoccurrence throughout my present life. Whenever I speak of it to others it pains me! I thought recognising it and speaking openly about it, would create "peace" however has not. I cannot past life regression properly, so I have no idea how exactly it's intwined with my past life. I had a dream warning me of this! How do I make peace with it? It's a significance part of me, but I must make a mense* as you wish with it, to make peace. How do I do this?

Hi Ankhe

It's hard to comment not knowing what's happened, but in general sometimes people carry what is like PTSD over from previous lives. Usually talking about it helps. Sometimes it requires some 'self-talk' as well.

If you care to tell us about it, I'm sure the members here would be happy to try to give you as much guidance as they can.

There are also some good threads about this kind of thing you may find useful:

I cannot talk of it, even if I wanted too, last time I shared it with someone (last night) I immediately felt uneased, then pain started in my stomach, I could not sleep at all last night and still partially suffering. As if Im being punished, for sharing it. This has always been the way, yet this is the worst incidence so far. I do self talk, that is fine, as soon as I mention to someone else, it's bad, I feel as if Ive done something wrong. As I do now.

There is none in my town. There is one women who does past life regressions, however she is no professional. Is there any youtube versions that may help?

Ankhe, it sounds like this is something that has caused you a lot of pain in the past and it is continuing to do now in the present. Even though you feel like you shouldn't talk about it and in doing so you feel physical pain, I think this is stemming from whatever the source of this past life pain is. I think not resolving it may be doing more damage to you spiritually, emotionally, and mentally than if you were to get it all out there finally.

I'm not saying that you need to talk to anyone here on this forum, but I do think that a past life regression will help you immensely or someone who is trained in therapy but has experience with past life issues. I hesitate about YouTube videos because it will be an unguided experience, which can be dangerous. But if you are determined, I think Brian Weiss has a YouTube regression video.

Please be well and I hope this all works out for you.

Writing it out might help.?

It helped me very much. If you chose

someday maybe could tell who and why

this past life is bothering you.

Susan, for me my past life in 60's was very painful

Everytime I heard Baby Love on the radio by

Supremes I cry my eyes out.

Some how? I was able to make peace with her.

Yes I may try writing it out, it did help last time this happened, just did not happen to the same extent.

The thing is I don't know who it/I was, it's a repetitive thing, a symbol, that bares a lot of significance to me. Sharing it with someone two day ago I had the unexpected turn for the worst.

It's like what I read in one of Tanguerra's suggested threads, "

The persons indentifcation with the wounds of their past is so strong it defines their identity in the present" this is how I feel to some extent. I begun as a good thing, now from my reaction of telling people I assume it's no longer is? However I want it to remain a good thing.

I have found I often do not believe what I think I believe, and watching how my body responds to a situation brings me more insight than how I think I should be thinking. It's important to listen to your body, but perhaps not always to obey it. After all, my body will tell me not to eat when I am tense or worried ... and that is not good.

I, too, have things that make me physically ill to face or talk about. It used to happen constantly, so I learned to recognize and accept the reason I didn't want to eat, then I make myself a smoothie or something simple because I knew that would help me most, in the end.

Before I knew the trustworthy friends I turn to these days, I wrote it all down. It helps to understand your own story, even if you do entrust it to someone, also. It's surprising how many lies I told myself, not even knowing I was merely parroting what someone had taught me to believe. If you brought your problem from a past life, your inner reactions will be even more unconscious. Having framed it for yourself, it's easier to watch your body for signs, catch your thoughts, and then train yourself to see where the thought process can be interrupted.

A trustworthy guide is a huge help, because they will see what you might miss, but it is something you can begin on your own. I'll probably get professional help myself, once I can afford it. But I've come a very long way with the help of my friends. Don't give up. :)

I'm a little tipsy, so I find this the best time to speak of it, it may seem immature, but it's the best way I can speak of it.

I was a lonely child, so I believed in the sun! For my entire childhood, so when I remember my childhood that is my memory! It was very significant to me, it's engrained to me now. When I tell people I feel physically ill.

Please help me.

I'm not quite sure what you mean Ankhe. Do you mean you remembered some kind of sun worshiping cult perhaps? I'm assuming this has an Egyptian connection?

I do not know, nor do I want to assume anything, I have spoken of it previously on this forum, however it some what easier to do so then...

Ultimately, as a child I wanted to understand the world better, so I was utterly convinced the thoughts in my head (my sub-conscience) were that of the sun. From that I believed in the sun as a god like thing, it was a very significant aspect of my childhood. It sounds wierd I know. However one day I realized it was not real/true and I fell into great anxiety and sadness, the first I ever experienced in my life, from then on I have encountered other anxiety attacks. The other day I told someone of this and as I was finished explaining it, a pain came into my stomach and two days following I suffered anxiety attacks.

Yes it sounds wierd/crazy, but this is the truth. I wish to do a past life regression, but they never work, even when done professionally! How do I fix this?

I wonder if its Aztec in origin. Hard to say. You can't force memories, they have to come on their own and they won't come out if you are anxious. You can start dealing with the anxiety by practicing deep breathing when you feel it start.

This site also has some good ideas on dealing with anxiety, the natural way: http://www.wikihow.com/Deal-With-Anxiety

Once you calm down a bit, your past life memories might start to come out, via dreams or in some other way.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ankhe,

I'm sorry this is all so anxiety producing for you. Nobody here is qualified to give you any sort of counselling for anxiety or anything else. But I can offer a word or two of general advice which I hope is helpful.

Try to reduce your stress levels by reducing your consumption of stimulants: c*offee, sugar, any kind of junk food/'sport' drinks, candy, tobacco, alcohol and the like. If you add up the number of stimulants the average person consumes, it's a lot and they all add to anxiety levels. Avoid stress-inducing activities like too much TV news, too much 'screen time' of all kinds, too much of anything that makes you anxious, like friends or family members who upset you. Be sure to get some fresh air, exercise and sunshine every day, like taking a nice long walk in a park if you can. Eat properly and get enough sleep. I know it sounds basic, but taking care of your health makes a huge difference to your state of mind.

Above all, remind yourself that whatever may or may not have happened in the past is in the past. It can't hurt you now. It might be causing some kind of delayed stress reaction, but that's OK. Remember, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Use some 'white light' meditation to create a sense of calm and safety. Lie down quietly and imagine yourself and your whole room (or even your whole house/building if you like) surrounded by white light.

If I feel stressed or anxious about something that is 'spooking me' in one way or another, I like to imagine a few of my more protective male friends in 'angelic form' silently standing watch at each corner of my house to keep any 'baddies' away in the night. For some reason it just makes me feel better.

Sending you positive vibrations. Hoping you start to feel better soon.

Great. Let us know how you get on.

Whatever it was that may have happened in the past can't hurt you now. That's important to remember.

Take care of yourself.

Oh, yeah? Says who?

Perhaps your perception of it, when you were a child, was from the point-of-view of a child, but that does not make it untrue. For what it is worth, I see nothing wrong with believing in The Light.

True, Blueheart. If I filter the most basic description of what I believe through a literal lens, it could easily be considered "worship of the light." My guides often show up as a warming inner radiance instead of always taking on an identifiable human form. I can see how the similarities would become very deeply symbolic to anyone, not only children.
