I dreamed a dream...

Looking Backwards

Forgive me, Les Miserables fans. ;)

I'm posting this in questions because it doesn't relate to any actual PL memories, but is in fact simply a question.

How reliable, exactly, are dreams? When do ones that make us pause mean something and when are they the fault of a subconcious with an overactive imagination?

A few nights ago, I had a dream that someone was talking to me. I can't remember the exact conversation, but this person (who is as good as a sister in real life) told me that it was "obvious" we were connected through a PL. She said we even look a bit alike now, and something else that was so strange, but made sense, in my dream at least - I really wish I still kept up my dream dictionary, because I forget now.

That said, we have spoken before about PLs, so I'm not sure if that was it more than anything else. She's said it's possible we knew each other (and definitely believes in them).

Could there be any connection? How much thought should I put into that?

Hi,

Two things come to mind. First, in the book "The Self Aware Universe, How Consciousness Creates the Material World“ -- Amit Goswami, Ph.D. defines consciousness.....

"Etymologically; the word consciousness derives from the word scire (to know) and *** (with). Consciousness is "To know with." To me, this term implies nonlocal knowing; we cannot know with somebody without sharing a nonlocal connection with that person."

Second, another perspective on HOW consciousness is shared

The Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon, shows that when enough of us are aware of something, all of us become aware of it.

This concept confirms now what others are suggesting in their work (i.e., Gregg Braden and his book The Isaiah Effect for example) -- that the appreciation and love we have for ourselves and others creates an expanding energy field that becomes a growing power in the world.

A lot of work was done by Ken Keyes, Jr. who first published his book about the dangers of nuclear power and weapons in 1981; The "Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon" refers to a study conducted in 1952 in Koshima, Japan: One monkey learned to wash its food, and then taught other monkeys in its troop this new skill. Still more monkeys in the troop learned to wash their food until one day one last monkey, arbitrarily labeled the "hundredth" monkey, learned the skill... at which time, the entire troop suddenly learned how to wash their food, and monkeys from across the sea learned as well.

The point of this story is to illustrate that when enough members of a group are aware, their society can be changed. It also illustrates Nonlocal Knowing.

I would say it's impossible to give any set rules about "dream reliability". I believe all our dreams mean something, but it's not always obvious what exactly.

I once had a very close friend come to me in a dream, too, telling how many past lives we've shared and some specifics about them as well. This friend is an atheist in this life and personality, but I believe it really was her essence there having an astral connection with mine.

That's what I believe as it felt real to me and her words made sense. But I wouldn't know for certain, and couldn't tell on you behalf about your dream.

I once had a dream about my sister and me where she said something about a building in my dream being "like one we saw when we lived back in Egypt, remember?".

I was so excited by this dream and like to think that we were connected in the past. I don't know for certain if that's true - we don't talk about these things. Still was pretty cool. :cool

HI Kemetic,

Have you ever talked to your sister about dreams in general? That's usually a good way to start.

Hi Deborah,

I think I will talk to her at some point - we're really very close so it's worth a try.
