Hi guys! I'm really interested about past lives and I like coming to this forum to read all of the stories that are posted here. Recently I've been reading in the Past Life section and had me wondering how you can remember about a past life? I would really appreciate if someone can suggest something. I have tried a self hipnosis video from youtube but had no luck with it. I wonder what I'm doing wrong or if I'm trying too hard (if that's possible lol). I feel like I can't never just get to being completly relaxed. What does it supposed to feel like? Anyway if anyone can suggest anything I would really, really appeciate it!!! Thanks in advance*

Hello lovelypinks,

Thanks for joining us and sharing your interest. Reincarnation is a subject that you can research and study. There are many great books and even video documentaries that talk about it. As far as you yourself remembering... well, in my opinion you will remember what your souls is suppose to. I think just the idea that you are experiencing a desire to know may be the first step. But don't be in any hurry. Learn and study what it is. For some of us it hit us when we were not looking. The dreams, synchronous "coincidences" with people, the clarity of certain life issues, even habits, fears and phobias all can be signs.

I recommend learning to meditate with an instructor or experienced practitioner for a time or two. There are so many little things to know in order to fully benefit from deep meditation. There are a number of guided meditation/regression CDs out there. Enter those words in the search engine above you'll see several threads where we've talked about it. Keep a journal of your journey. Begin it now before you have any memories (if you do.) And lastly, I highly recommend professional regression when and if you are ready for it. I should also add, be careful for what you ask for... past lives were "forgotten" for a reason; often they are very, very painful and traumatic. I cannot listen to the recording of my regression it was so sad. Thankfully the doctor I saw was well versed in handling this and helped me work through it. The result was an incredible understanding of who I am now... and who I was then. We are a culmination (of sorts) of many past lives. Each with good and bad.

Good luck on your journey, we're here if you need us.

Hi lovelypinks

Welcome to the forum.

I second what Tinkerman has said. This is not a party game, so approach with some caution, because you never know what you might find if you start poking around.

But, that said, usually when people have trouble doing self-regression it's because they have too much 'chatter' going on in their minds which will interfere. I always compare it to trying to see into a pond. You won't be able to see anything if the surface is rippled not matter how hard you try, but once the ripples clear you can see below the surface, the rocks, the plants, the fish swimming around. They're always there whether there are ripples or not, it's just you can't see them.

For practise you could certainly try doing some regular meditation training to learn how to quiet and focus the mind without any other purpose than just to stop the 'chatter' and find a moment of 'stillness'. There are meditation classes all over the place and it's a good thing to do anyway for health and well being. Once you get the hang of it, it gets easier.

Why are you curious about past lives?
