Where to start yikes
About three weeks ago, I managed to find myself set up on a blind-date with someone I did not know and had never met before. It was also the first time I have ever been on a 'date', as I am not exactly the most confident or talkative of people.
I had seen a couple of photographs of the guy, and something about him just made me think, I really know you, although I've never met you. It was strange too, that the photos, though the same guy, could almost have been of two different people. (They were all most definitely him).
So, I was sat in the café, absently contemplating the wall-hangings, when he walks up from behind, practically bursts out my name and sweeps me off my feet in a bear-hug!! This from a guy who has never met me before, and never even seen a picture of me! No introductory 'hello, are you ...?'
Now in general circumstances I am most definitely not a tactile person - I will just about tolerate shaking hands. I certainly will not tolerate being hugged and swept off my feet by a total stranger... but it just seemed so natural... It was like I had always known him.
Then when he finally put me down and sat in front of me and I managed to actually look at him, the first thought that came to my head was 'he's my Augustus Springberg!' The man whose life I dreamt about and who was my husband in some PL dreams. But, I never ever refer to him as Augustus. Always by his first name or surname. Though, I know from having seen an old family letter relating to a visit to the family, that he was sometimes known as Gust. OMG (His name is not Augustus Springberg currently)
Another thought that crossed my mind as I listened to him - he was very talkative, was that for the last few weeks I had been almost continuously singing an old Norwegian folk tune that had lodged itself in my head. (No, I don't speak Norwegian, but for some reason learned this song). Gust might very well have known it too. Indeed I remember smiling to myself has he chatted, thinking, he's my Water Spirit from that song! (Apparently he's a Scorpio) and it was as if my singing that song had called him up lol
I have to say, since then I have heard absolutely nothing from him. Just total silence?! (Strangely, since meeting him the need to sing the song has gone too, and even when I do, it doesn't sound the same??). But the thought that has been left in my mind is, why of all people would I meet this guy who to all appearances I have known forever; why would the first thought in my head be that he was my Augustus Springberg; and then why disappear again??
Could he really have been my PL husband, who for some reason the fates decided to let us see we're still around before leaving us to carry on our separate ways again?? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
