Imagination or memory..that is the question

Hi all.

I just wanted to share something Cohl said to me 2 nights ago. I'm torn between it being a memory and him having a well endowed imagination. He just talked and talked forever it seemed and I'll sum up the gists of it here.

I layed him in bed and I was patting his back and I asked him if he remembered who he used to be. Well, at first I got a silly remark that had nothing to do with my question and then he started giving me directions (as best a 3 yr old can) to some store..it was quite cute but then he changed directions and starts talking about being at something called a "Farm Fest."

He said that he was at the Farm Fest and a big truck was there and there were lots of men inside it, "But the men got found and 1 man got really really mad and he shot (he holds his little fingers up) this other man in the eye and people were running around and then this big man came and grabbed me."

He then elaborates some on the chaos I'd call it and refers to some large terantula's that were loose from a cage getting knocked over. He then mentions a large wall, "Theres a big wall and the wall is....." He just stops and shakes his head, wispers something, (wich I find this to be kind of significant because when he's spoken of his PL memories in the past, he always wispers something durring the recolection..everytime.) He tells me there are lots of trees and 2 really big trees and then he goes back to the chaos of that day and says that the Big man is running with him and puts him down but "He steps on my toe and breaks it! (gasp) It hurt soooooooooooooooo bad!" (he was so passionate about this little statement, he even grabbed his left toe and pulled his leg to his chest)

He mentions more about the terantulas and that one got on the Big man's shirt and then finally he mentions this big wall again and gets really quiet and then all of a sudden shakes his head vigerously and says, "No." he flips on his side, grabs his teddy bear and says, "I don't want to talk about it anymore."

I wasn't to enthralled while he was telling the story, I was simply interested however his sudden and serious reaction at the end made me wonder. He wouldn't fall asleep after that, he kept wanting me to stay with him and just as he was about to drift off, his eyes would pop open so I ended up having to take him downstairs with me so he could fall asleep while watching t.v.

Any ideas? If it was just a little story he conjured, it sure was interesting and he sure did tell it with great facial expressions but if it wasn't, I'm trying to think of where he may have been speaking of. The only thing that came to me was the wall along the Mexican border which forgive me but I'm not even sure a wall is there and how long it has been there... I know there is something called the Burlin Wall and I also am going to look up anything called a "Farm Fest"..Anyway, I'm going to do some research but there are so many intelligent people in here, I thought some of you may have some good thoughts on this.

Thanks!

HI Crissy2,

There are Farm Fests - all over the country - and this link talks also about a corn cob wall at a Farm Fest.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks Deborah.

You responded fast! I'm going to follow your link directly after this.

I actually was coming back on to post something I had forgot to add and a revelation I think i may have just had. Right after i posted this, I ran upto the gas station to grab me something to eat and I remembered that he told me his name was Alex. (I had asked him what his name was) Well all of a sudden while riding in the car, I remembered that he has told me his name was Alex before (I remember mentioning to my mom) So I started jogging my brain to remember when it had been and if my memory serves me correctly, he mentioned it one day to me while telling me a story of living in a wooden house and a monkey that tore through the house knocking stuff over. He mentions large trees there too and I really wish I had written this story down because it too was very detailed but had to of been about a year ago since he told it. He's always been afraid of monkeys. When we mentioned monkeys were to be at the zoo, he crinkled his nose up and said, "I hate monkeys." Monkeys are trouble. They are mean." He'd never seen a monkey before except on T.V and now that I think about it, he's mentioned this house with the wild monkey at least 4 or 5 times at odd intervals. I remember his story reminding me of a jungle setting or something from his description.

So my thoughts are that tarantula's and monkeys seem to fit together in some way like they both tend to resonate in the same climate or area of the world, both story's had large trees and the story about a boy name Jeshue that I've posted in here about getting lost in the woods. The name Jeshue is possibly a name that would link back to a wilderness or jungle civilization..I'm sure I totally grabbed the wrong word for that but hopefully i'm making since. Forgive me if I am not.

Could it be, my son's storys are tying together? This is kind of cool.

Hi Crissy,

Both stories could well be linked to a past life memory. I don't know if this is still the case, but rural and farming communities used to have big celebrations once the harvest was over. These were often called harvest balls, with dancing and ever booths and games. But some might have been called Farm Fests too.

SOunds exciting Crissy. Its not too late to write this one down or what you remember from the last one.

Just for the fun of it, I sometimes frequent the below listed site to try and investigate borderline walls that may have been attacked durring the time of a festival. It's a long list but passes the time sometimes. Posting so I can always return to it when need be.
