Interesting Things My Son Has Said

AussieGirl

AussieGirl
I have a 4 and a half year old son. The first incident occurred with him just over a year ago. My husband was putting Alex to bed as I was out that night and as my husband was standing at Alex's bedroom door Alex asked perfectly calmly who's hand was on Mark's shoulder? Mark asked Alex what he meant and Alex replied that someone had their hand on Mark's left shoulder. He was so convinced that someone was there he got out of bed and walked around Mark to check. Mark, very quick thinking told Alex that it was Daddy's Guardian Angel. Alex to this day remembers this vividly and recalls it the same way each time.

Shortly after that Mark and Alex were watching a Wallace and Grommit movie which Alex had never seen before. It wasn't even 15 minutes into the movie when Alex announced he had seen it before and told us the entire plot. Now I know for certain I hadn't shown him it before, nor had Mark and I called my parents to ask them if they had watched it with him and they hadn't. There is nowhere else he could have seen it.

Our next incident occurred last last year when I was in the bathroom and Alex came down and told me that the TV 'spoke'to him. I asked him what he meant and he repeated that the TV spoke to him. He said he couldn't tell if it was a man or womans voice and he couldn't understand what they were saying. I asked him if it was just the'voiceover' people and he was adamant that it wasnt and that was not like anything he had heard before.

Shortly after this he and I were watching TV again and he kept asking me what the noise on the TV was? I could hear nothing but the ordinary show we were watching and kept asking him what he meant but he was unable to really tell me, got very annoyed that I couldnt hear what he was hearing and hasn't mentioned it since.

The last thing I should mention is that he tells us he has an invisible friend which I thought was just normal only child behaviour until he mentioned one day that his invisible friend could walk through doors and windows. I also hear him talking in his room alot after he has been put to bed and it sounds like he is having very real conversations.

I know this might not be exactly Past Life related but does this sound like unusual things to be happening to and to be said by a 4 year old??

I need other opinions please.

Welcome to the forum Aussiegirl,

You may want to look into the Childspirit Institute which helps parents whose children are having spiritual experiences. It is hard for small children to put into words what adults consider the unexplainable. Adults have a hard time expressing their own experiences - just imagine how difficult it must be for a child.

Is he your only child? I can recommend some good books for you if you are interested. Specifically Carol Bowman's first book Children's Past Lives. It would be a great place to start - considering his comments regarding -seeing a movie "before."

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

How long has the Wallace and Grommit movie been out? It doesn't seem like it has been out for more than 4 years so he may not have seen it in a past life. He might be psychic though. Most children are more open to their spiritual selves and it could just be an awareness that he has now that may subside as he gets a little older.

I wholeheartedly support Deborah's recommendation of the ChildSpirit Institute. I have been to their website and have spoken with them on the phone as I have a 6 year old son that has had similar experiences as your son.

I'd also recommend their book which Deborah loaned me but you can buy if you get onto their website. The Secret Spiritual World of Children. Title may not be exactly right but their website talks about the book.

Having a child talk about these kinds of things can be really overwhelming but it gets far less so when you start reading a little and becoming aquainted with some of these things that seem so strange at first but are more normal when you just learn a little more about them.

There is a book called Mountains, Meadows and Moonbeams by mary Summer Rain which helps you explain these phenomena to your child. I read it to my son and I don't feel your son is too young for most of it.

Vicky,

Thanks for your reply. I should have made it clear that the Wallace and Grommit movie that they were watching was the very first one 'A Grand Day Out' which I'm pretty sure came out in the early nineties. Its the one where they go to the moon. And Alex knew this, he knew they built a rocket and went to the moon which was cheese. (I haven't seen the movie, I am trying to recall what he said). That was why I was so surprised because the movie was out way before I even met Mark!

I will see if the books you have recommended are available here in Australia otherwise I will order them from the internet.
I really want to do all that I can to nurture this gift that Alex appears to have.

I forgot about the other Wallace and Grommit movies that came out earlier. I was thinking about the last one that came out about two years ago.

You will nurture these gifts in your son simply because you are watching and paying attention. It is obvious that you love him. There is no doubt that he feels that. It seems to help the child just to know that you believe them.

My son used to stress out when I couldn't remember some life time we had together in Japan or the like. Eventually, he seemed to just figure out that most people don't remember but that some believe he does. He will be 7 in two months and he rarely talks about any of it any more. From what I have read on this site and in Carol's books, this is fairly typical.

Hi AussieGirl, welcome to the forum.

It's good to see another Melburnian on the forum!

Did you ever ask you son where and when he had seen the Wallace & Grommit film? He might be able to give you more of an explanation.
