Hello, I'm a mom in Atlanta. I have thought for years that my daughter was somehow connected to my mom, who died of breast cancer 2.5 years before my daughter was born. She's now 9, and doesn't say connecting things too much anymore, but when she was little she said two things that made me sit up and take notice.
The first one, when she was only a couple of years old, she said to me out of the clear blue, "I used to rock you when you were a baby." At that point, I didn't think too much of it - maybe she was confused and got the I/you pronouns mixed up. But then...
Some time later, we were sitting in our dining room. I had a family gallery of perhaps 25 photos on the wall. One of them was a photo of my mom, my husband, my sister, and myself. My daughter, out of the clear blue again, looked up, pointed to THAT photo and said, "I remember when that picture was taken." I got the chills. The way the photos were arranged, that was the only one with her or my mom in it in that general vicinity on the wall.
Add to this, when she was born, she looked JUST LIKE my mom. I have photos of when my mom was a baby and when I put them side by side with my daughter's photos they are nearly identical. The night my daughter was born, my grandmother came to the hospital and commented on the similarity right off. My dad said a couple of years later that the first time he met my daughter he was sort of frightened - that she has the same eyes and same intensity that mom had.
So, I think that my daughter is somehow connected to my mom.
My questions, then - has anyone else run across a 2.5 year reincarnation cycle? How common is it that a young mom (age 49) comes back within the family? And, my daughter has a birthmark on her side, toward the bottom of her rib cage. Mom died of breast cancer. I am not seeing a direct connection there. Finally, if mom died of breast cancer, and my daughter is connected, does this mean my daughter shares the same fate?
Thanks,
I look forward to continuing to learn and read...
