hey there,

i am from holland and i would like to ask your help in something that troubles me already a while.

20 years ago i lost my brother in a fire in my house during the night. My mother, other brother and me survived. 8 years ago my older brother got a daughter. From day one she always stuck to my mother(her grandmother) She really got crazy when my mother tried to leave her to go home. She cried her eyes out in a manner that wasn't normal for a child of 1,5 years old(at least i thought it was weird)

It never got any better, she asked if she could live with my mother
instead of beiing with her own mom and dad.
but the strangest things came when she was about three. I don't really know how you call it in english so correct me if i'm wrong but her eyes weré not equal( like she looked at her nose, how do you call that???) In Holland we call it lasy eyes. My diseased brother had exactley the same condition and exactley at the same eye. When she looks at the television, she takes on the same posture as my brother use to do. she looks up towards the tv in a strange way (i can't really describe it but it rang a bell when i saw it) and my brother use to do that to, even though my older brother or me never took on that posture...

But that's not all. She is terrified of fire, 2 years ago i was in a shopping mall with her and my mother. All of the sudden she got so scared! It was not normal, i never saw her like that. She clamped at my mother and screamed that she wanted to get out or else we would all die...

So we got out, my mother was depressed and scared and i tried to huss everybody. Not knowing at that time what it possibly meant. However she stayed holding on to my mother in a way that i have not seen yet with any other child. My brother is a good father and his wife is loving and caring for her daughter. I don't understand this great bond with my mother.

So i went on the internet and read about the book"childrens past lives" i bought it and reading that made me think about what could be.

Could it be that my brother reincarnated in my cousin??

I had a great bond with my brother, it happened when i was five.
i don't recall all of it my self really, mostly portions off it, but my mother told me a long time ago that i use to talk to my brother even when he was dead already.

I had long conversations with him. i talked about almost everything. Even with adults in the room. ans when he left i told it to my mother, she, at the time always crying, listened to me and made me think that it was normal to speak to him.

I spoke to my mother about this and about me asking this forum. She is normally very stubbern about thing that you can't touch but when i told her my feelings about this, she said that her mind tells her to be normal but her heart says otherwise..

So my question is, coul it be my brother reincarnated???

I hope some of you want to talk to me or even just give a reaction. To be honest i know that something is strange about this, and in my heart i feel my brother in this young girl, so even a negative answer is ok. But please talk to me, help me understand this better...

Thanx,
Coby

Welcome........

Dear Coby,

Your experience touched my heart in many ways. How blessed your niece is to have an Uncle that is aware -and searching for the reasons to her fears, and her behavior. It is one of the most amazing -experiences I have read on this forum in a while. THANK YOU for sharing.

Your niece also seems to have the physical ailment (crossed eyes)which could be an indicator. I am going to think on this for a while -and post later today more thoughts. Is there something I can do -to help you research the phenomenon? Or to help you make contacts with people who can help you on a professional level??

Great posting, it seems to me like your hunch might be right. Do you remember when your brother stopped communicating with you? Has your niece ever said anything that would make you feel that she was your brother?

She is truly very lucky to have you in her life. Please always keep an open mind for her.

Very interesting post! As a mom myself I wouldn't think it'd be the usual thing for a young child to want to live with the grandmother instead of with her own parents.

The eye condition is called "lazy eye" here too, at least in informal talk (one of my sisters had it). I was struck how you said it "rang a bell" when you saw your niece look at the TV in a certain way - just as your brother used to do. It doesn't sound like you were automatically expecting that posture to be mimicked by her.

Thank you for sharing and please feel free to read through other stories in this section of the forum!

Hello,

Thank you for the nice words and giving me the idea that i'm not crazy..

Deborah, about the condition of her eyes. I don't really know why it looks the same as my brother had but it does. In the book "return from heaven"i read a few things about similar (how do you call it, it's not easy to write in another language) conditions which were not easy to explain. I know that many children have lasy eyes but with her it was one of the many things that were odd.
I don't know the way to research any of this, i would like to find some explanation for this but in my heart i know that i can't explain it.

I talked to my mother just a minute ago and she told me something that i didn't know yet.

Last week my niece was staying over for a night at my mothers house. I didn't tell you yet that the fire started in the television during the night. Well on top of my earlier comment about her beiing afraid in the shopping mall this happened.

My mother was alone and has a young dog she had to walk. My niece was alreay showered and had to stay inside. So my mother stayed on the grass in front of the house and told her to scream out the window if anything happened. After a few minutes she came inside and my niece said that she turned of the tv because she was scared that anything would happen with it, she saw stripes on it she said. That's strange because my mother is always carefull with the tv and if she would ever see stripes it would be kicked out. I know my brother would not say anything about that to her because he cannot talk about it, he blocks it.
My brother doesn't talk about the accident, he refuses it.

This startled me even more i quess, my mother didn't tell me everything but now stories come up.

A year ago my mother went to the hairdresser and showed my nieces photo to her(she was showing off offcourse hahaha) next to her photo was a photo of my diceased brother. The hairdresser asked who he was.. she said that it must be her father, they looked so much alike that she thought she saw father and daughter. So i took a photo and looked intensely at it.
The features are almost the same, she has the same smile and even the same shape of the face.

I didn't know this up untill now, it gives me so much grattitude to think that he returned to us, i cannot express my feelings enough.

My niece never said anything as far as i know which can link her to my brother but there are so many other things.

In a reply to another question about me talking to my brother when i was young i can only say that i stopped talking when i was 11 years old. I cannot remember everything but i talked very frequently to him. Even when i was playing he was with me, when i was going to sleep i prayed that i would see him one more time, and he came(not by spirit but as a voice in my head)
Anybody who would read this might say i am crazy but as a young child i didn't know any better. I can write books full about my adventures with these things but this is the first time that i share them with anybody. I always use to think that in fact i was crazy. all the adults except my mother gave me the idea that what i said was wrong and weird so i stopped talking. My mother has also a lot of strange things which she kept to her selve, she has a special connection with me, almost telepatic. She feels what i feel sometimes. I can't explain it, and i can't tell you what my mother saw and heard because the posting is already to long i think. But this really is something that is a part of our lives. I hope you will still help me or support me and i hope you won't think i am weird...

Greetings

Hi copper, relatives being reborn in the same family after dying is very common. I am saying this from personal experience. I am from India, where reincarnation has been understood to be the way of life for ages. I can assure you that you are not at all crazy. All our traditions are based around the idea of reincarnation. Everything that you have told about your neice and brother makes me believe that you have got it right. If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer to the best of my knowledge.

Hi Cooper, I understand that children are very matter-of-fact about their past lives. Have you ever just asked your niece if she was your brother in her past life?

From what you have described I would say that first your not crazy, and yes I think that your right on about your niece being the reincarnation of your brother.

I have a friend who lost a child who was 2 years old ( in a drowning accident ) Her daughter she has now was born 5 years after the drowning, and she told my friend the was her daughter before and died in water.
