Hello, it's been a while since I last posted but I have been perusing the deeper into the forum and have enjoyed finding some real gems of stories.
What prompted this post is a recent experience I had. I live in a urban town (actually with over 100,000 people it qualifies as a small city) a few miles away from a major city in the United States. Downtown we have a fairly active nightlife, and I being 19 generally partake in such festivities. Last Friday I was at coffee shop at about 12:30 a.m. with some friends just hanging out enjoying ourselves. Also there, was a couple, both looking to be around 21-25 who looked like they had just come from a club or concert. I don't know what it was about them, but after looking at them for a moment, particularly the guy I had this immediate unprompted thought "that's what the nightlife in London during the early 1990's looked like." Even stranger I felt this sense of euphoria come over me and a feeling of "oh yeah I loved that." I think along with the environment we were in, it was something about the way the guy was dressed that prompted the feeling. I've only been to London once when I was 6, so I don't know what the nightlife scene is like. I've found also that music like some of ABBAs later hits and songs like "99 Luftballoons" and "There she goes" by the La's evoke kind of the same feeling, like they're songs that would've been played in a nightclub or performed in pub venues over there? I guess I'm not looking for validation but I want to know if any of you think this sounds like something along the lines of a spontaneous recall?
