Looking for Wisdom

I have experiences where I find my self in real life situations in which I feel like I have already had this specific experience. Example. I was headed to a wake with my family and suddenly I feel as if I have experienced that same event, the same ride. the same conversation, but it is? just now happening in my life.I have experienced this frequently. Is this deja vu? Is it something else? I would appreciate any input, especially where I might discover more about what this is. I hope I am in the right discussion group, if not please let me know.

Do you have precognitive dreams or premonitions? Sounds like you may have psychic ability to know things before they happen. Has this been happening all of your life?

No, I do not really have intuitive dreams or premonitions, I just find myself at times feeling as if I have already experienced what is presently happening which causes abrupt changes into my thinking and feelings-concerned, but excited. I did not experience this as a child as far as I can remember. The only concrete childhood experience that I remember is after attending wakes, I would feel a presence and see the corpses in the dark while in my bed. I have also in times of prayer had what seemed to be "religious" spiritual visions. This began in my mid teens.. I recently experienced a recorded past life regression session with Dr. Brian Weiss and with certainty I feel that I have discovered a past life. I am trying to discover connections. Forgive me if I am rambling, but the past life regression has caused a surge in my memories and awareness. Thank you for commenting.

Hi Whalerider.

Welcome to the forum. Not rambling at all. I know exactly what you mean. You are in the right place to share this sort of feeling. That 'excited' feeling, when you 'just know' and the 'certainty' is very familiar to me and many others. It's the language of the soul/spirit. That's how it feels. It's a good thing. You're defininitely onto something.

Please tell us more as you are ready to do so.

Welcome, Whalerider. I would categorize the feeling of "been here before, done that before" as deja' vu. I don't know if the phenomenon is past life related, but since there are only theories to explain the feeling, it could be. Einstein said that for physicists the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion. I am looking forward to hearing about the life you have discovered.

No idea about déjà vu, I don’t see how or why it would be past life related, myself. You’re probably aware of the theory that it’s caused by the two halves of your brain being just slightly slow catching up with each other. One side goes, “hey, look at that”, the other side says, ‘...look at what?...oh yeah, that. I think I’ve seen that somewhere before…” Or something like that. On the other hand I’ve had what I call ‘time slips’, for lack of a better expression, where what I was seeing wasn’t what I was experiencing in the moment, but which happened way later, and not even my brain is that slow so the above explanation doesn’t work there, and if it doesn’t work there, maybe it doesn’t work anywhere.

I had one odd déjà vu experience. A guy in my martial arts class mentioned that he’d been having déjà vu flashes all day, it was unusual for him and he was finding it slightly disorientating. After that I had them as well for the rest of the day. I caught them from him, apparently.

That is a very interesting synchronicity, Sister Grey. I can't explain it, of course. Most people seem to experience deja vu a lot as children, and the experience becomes less frequent as they mature. Maybe, the suggestion was inadvertently planted in your mind, and you opened to the possibility? If this was a Sci-Fi movie, you and your friend would be caught in a time loop, and experiencing the same day over again! There was a "Star Trek, Next Generation Episode" like that. Thank you for sharing that. It's something to think about.

I have a little insite to the whole deje vu thing the way science has explained it, and the way I view it spiritually as I've progressed on my journey, strange question to start off first though whalerider is have you been on any detox program for your body?, or been eating a lot of fruits recently?

After your answer I might be able to zero in on it a little better:)

Science views it like this. We all live in a time line that is always moveing forward, and the brain always seems to know this process, so it doesn't get tripped up. 1 things are happening that your brain is processing so much info all at the same time. Sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound. As it gets processed it goes into a phase 2. As in your brain recognizes that everything has just happened. This is where science explains that sometimes déjà vu happens, when the brain is in the middle of processing the indebidual themselves go wait a second I've seen this before! Science has never been able to take a close look at the brains processes as this happens so they can't draw a clear conclusion to why this happens, but this is were I feel that I might be able to fill in the blanks.

My views Since I have become more in tune with my own body I've been expierienceing this much more often as well. I believe it has to do with the third eye. The pineal gland is located in the middle of your brain between your eyes. As children this gland is completly clean and they use it so much that they expierience this more than we realize I'm sure. If you have an active pineal gland I think you have dreams that your brain buries in the subconscious mind until the moment arises. Wich goes back to the brains processes. 1 is happening, 2 has happened, and 3 I've seen and felt all of this before. The reason I believe this is simply because I've reactivated my third eye not to long ago, and this has happened to me much more lately! I've even had visions and sinsations being fully awake that I firmly believe will happen at a later date. Do a little research on this gland, it's capabilities, and see if you want the excitement to continue, I'll tell you this much my mind has never been more clear since diveing into this journey. Lastly the pineal gland is the key to seeing past life memories as well as being the gateway for the soul to enter and exit the body. At birth, death, astral projection, and precognition. That's only scratching the surface of what I believe this gland has the capabilities of doing. It truly unlocks the trapped mind.

Hope I've been helpful, and as always enjoy your time at this forum, it's full of amazing people that you will grow to love. :)
