Losing People We Love

This may not be the right place to ask this question, but I am just desperate. I lost my mom about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if there is any way of having any contact with her. Alternatively, how does reincarnation work? How do I get her back to be a part of my family again? I am planning to start a family with my wife. Is there a way that I get a daughter who would be my mom in a new life? HELP PLEASE someone, anyone.

I am very very sorry for you loss. :(

You are still in a grieving period so respect that and work through it. That said, you may be interested in studies on ADC (after death communication).

Best to you,
Angela

I'm sorry for you loss. It must be very difficult for you.

I can't say that your mother will return to your family. Only your mother knows if she will. What I can say is that the love you have for her, and she for you, won't die, and I believe that someday you'll be together again, either in heaven or in a new life.

My thoughts go out to you in this difficult time.

Chelle

Welcome to the forum Jerry,

I too am sorry for your loss. I understand your grief and your need to want your mother back. Rest assured, reincarnation is a part of life. Change is something that happens to and for all of us. Whether or not your mother comes back to you as your child - or grandchild, or a friend in the future will be determined by her choices. If you love her - then allow her the right to choose.

You might want to ask yourself - what is best for mom? What does she want?
She has free will and the power to choose her next life. Wish her JOY Jerry, wish her peace and harmony in her next life - regardless of where she chooses to be.

Hi jerry,

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother, as well. Perhaps your mother will return to you in the form of a child, or a grandchild one day, but as Chelle pointed out, she is the only one who really knows. The love between a mother and her child is the strongest bond there is...it is eternal. I'm sure she's watching over both you and your wife with love.

Lots of Light,

Ailish

I'm sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how hard that would be. Like everyone else said, it's her decision who she will come back as, but I'm sure you'll see her again, whether in this life or another, we can never be sure until it happens.

About contacting her, you can always ask for a sign. It doesn't work for me every time, but I have asked for and recieved a sign from two of my dead relatives (in one instance, I saw a flash of light fly across the room, in another, I was touched by a spirit) But there are other cases where I've asked of a sign and not gotten one, or just didn't realize it if there was one.

The main thing here, though, is that it is your mother's decision, and there is no doubt in my mind that your love is strong enough to bring you together again (in this life or another), and that she has both hers and your best interests in mind.

Thank you so much for all your responses. I cannot believe that I got so many responses. I am so touched I cannot express. Just makes me believe that there is a huge bunch of good human beings on earth like all of you. Thank you once again and I will take your best wishes and hope and pray that my mom chooses a life that she thinks is best. All my love is with her.

Best regards,
Jerry

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you Jerry. Wishing you and your mother all the best.

Tragedy

Over the last few months I've been learning about reincarnation, and have really come to accept it. Tragedy really struck this weekend. A close family friend who was only 34 and has 2 little babies died suddenly in a freak accident. So many people are grieving for her. My heart is broken. I just can't understand WHY. How can a beautiful, lively, happy mother of 2 toddlers just die so suddenly? I know that no one can give me an answer to that question. I just want to know how people think such a thing relates to reincarnation. Thanks

AuroraBelle,

I am so sorry to hear about what happened, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time :(

I understand how tough this is and where the questions come in as to why this happened, especially with a mother of two very young children.

Please try to understand that there is no such thing as an accident. Our souls choose what paths it would like to take and what lessons need to be learned for spiritual growth. These things are pre-planned before we begin each journey through life.

((((((((((((((AuroraBelle22)))))))))))))

I am so very sorry for your loss. Sometimes, it's just so difficult to make sense of the things we experience in our lives, especially when someone so young passes away so unexpectedly. My thoughts and prayers are with you, AuroraBelle as with your friend's family and friends and especially her two little ones.

Sending you all much love and light,

Ailish

I'm so sorry for your loss, and for her children. What a difficult time for her friend and family. :(

I don't know how it plays out in this case, but having died in childbirth about 100 years ago and leaving a toddler behind, I know it's not an easy thing to do. I hovered around her (my 2 year old daughter) until I knew that she would be okay. I've had a lot of flashbacks to that life and in retrospect I realize that there were reasons for that life and that I left when those reasons had been met or sufficiently demonstrated.

Having put thought into it, I think that we exit our lives for several reasons. I think for most people it's when they have experienced (or learned) whatever it was in that life they were supposed to or wanted to experience or learn. It's also possible a wrong fork in the road was taken, and starting over is the best way to rectify it.

These are just a couple of my thoughts. I don't know if they apply to this situation, only the one who has passed on can know how it plays into the overall scheme of their soul's journey, but maybe they help you a little in answering your question.

Chelle

Thanks for the replies. It's just so unbelievable, so heart breaking. She was accidentally electrocuted. Her little 2 year old keeps asking for his mommy, both children don't understand where she went.
I fully believe that the soul goes on after death. I have no doubts. Last night I was standing in my closet and just starting sobbing and talking out loud to her (the one who died) and promising her I'd help look out for her kids. Just 3 weeks ago before she went on vacation (she died overseas) I told her I'd babysit her kids every friday starting in September. So I promised her I'd still watch them and help her husband and family as much as I can, and I swear I saw a pair of pants hanging in my closet start swinging, and then it stopped. There's was nothing that could have made them move, I didn't touch them. It was a little creepy, but I felt her presence.
Sometimes I feel that I miss the wisdom I had when I wasn't in a human body, if that makes sense. I find myself thinking "I know I could handle this better if I could remember the big picture, but I just can't!". But death is a part of life, and it will happen to everyone eventually. Hey thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

I got goosebumps when i was reading your last post...

As a mother, what i fear the most is dying and leaving my young son alone... Even with all my understanding that i will always be with him i can't bear the thougth of him growing up without me... :( I wasn't afraid of dying at all before i had him...
I hope your friend is in peace...
How are the kids doing now? I will be sending my toughts and prayers to them...

HI Aurorabella22,

I am sorry to hear about your friend. What a terrible thing to have happen. :(

I know some people believe there is no such thing as accidents. But I do not agree. I believe that we make decisions daily - and our decisions may have consequences. Even something as simple as being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 8 text 24) suggests {translated and explained by - His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada} the following:

If one leaves the body at the time designated above, either accidentally or by arrangement, it is possible for him to attain the impersonal brahmajyoti. Mystics who are advanced in yoga practice can arrange the time and place to leave the body. Others have no control--if by accident they leave at an auspicious moment, then they will not return to the cycle of birth and death, but if not, then there is every possibility that they will have to return.

The verse is based on Attaining the Supreme. To me it suggests accidents do happen. At least the ancients thought so.

My thoughts are with you, your friend and her children.

will he meet her in heaven?

hello everyone, can anyone help me understand? ive been thinking recently, and i cant seem to get it straight in my head. you see, just this weekend my granda past away, and i found that a little peice of me was relieved because i knew that he would be greeted on the other side by my grandmother who died almost 30years ago, but then i realized that what i was thinking and what i believed about souls reincarnating were conflicting! i cant bear the thought that my granda would leave and go somewhere where he knew no one! and what about the soul of my grandmother? has she moved on? or has she waited for him all this time? and then what about my step grandmother, when its her time? will he be there to meet her/alongside my grandmother?

i know thats a lot of questions, but i cant settle it in my head, if anyone can help, id appreciate the peace of mind. sorry if this is all a little muddled :)

Kyla,

I'm sorry for your loss. :(

I don't have any definite answers for you, but I believe your grandad is now on the soul level and there he can be with your grandma even if she has reincarnated. Maybe she hasn't though, and has been waiting for your grandad. Or then they'll meet up again when they both have been reincarnated this or some other time around.

But I believe that anyway your dear grandad is now in peace, where nothing can hurt him or make him feeling sad. If they want to be together with your grandma, they can and they will. And all the other loved ones, including your step-grandma will fit nicely in this picture. I'm sure he isn't going anywhere alone and not knowing anybody. There are so many souls in our soulgroup - and of course the spirit guides!

Don't worry, he's in good hands. :)

Karoliina

I'm sorry for your loss, Kyla.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately too. When my grandmother died in 1984, I know my grandfather, who had passed in 1963, was there to greet her. I don't know if he was waiting for her, but I think he was.

I think there is a part of our past selves, sort of an echo of ourselves, that can be accessible to those who may still need us from the past. Perhaps the echo integrates itself into the overall soul when it is no longer needed, or perhaps our souls contain many such echos. I do think the "space" (for lack of a better word) of our soul is limitless, and far more than what we are in body.

Hi Kyla,

It's nice to see you back again, although I'm sorry to hear about your granda.

I thought a lot about this, too, when I lost my grandma a few years ago. Personally, I think that even if your grandmother has chosen to reincarnate already, there are so many people waiting to welcome your granda and rejoice at seeing him again. We've lived so many lives, and known so many souls, that we will never, ever be alone when it's time to pass over. Our love for family and friends is eternal. I think it's probably the biggest family reunion ever. ;)

Sending you warm thoughts and light,

Ailish

Hi Kyla, I'm also sorry for your loss. But I agree with what everyone else has written, that even if your grandma isn't there to greet him, he is surrounded by so many other souls he knows (they may even be people he knows from previous lives and not this one). I think that before we plan our lives, we discuss our plans with the souls we choose to reincarnate with, and so before your grandma and grandpa were born into this life they planned to meet, get married, etc., and probably knew what would happen once they both passed away. I often wonder too what happens when you are married to more than one person because your first spouse dies, but I think that in heaven we don't think the way we do on earth. I think on the other side, love is love, and we don't necessarily have romantic feelings. Because our roles on earth change so much during each incarnation - in one life you may be husband and wife, in another you may be cousins, in another you may be a parent and child. Either way, just know that your grandfather is at peace and happy, and in the most loving place that exists, and I'm sure if he could talk to you he'd tell you not to worry about him at all :) .

it means a lot

thank you all for ur responses, it means a lot. :) some of the ideas you put forward do seem to strike a cord, but its still all quite hazy  i mean, i understand the idea that love is love and may be set apart from the soul, or that love becomes an echo of our soul when we pass on, i think thats beautiful.
its an uncomfortable thought, that loved ones wont be there to meet me when its my turn, i find that hard to imagine, but thats probably because of a life time of being told that thats how it is. part of me wants to believe what my granda believed, he was a traditional catholic and had very strong catholic views, so he believed he would go to heaven and be there for eternity in the company of all his loved ones, to be in peace. i think that is a beautiful idea in many ways, and for his sake i almost hope its true. is that possible? can a soul decide to stay where ever they go, to live that eternity their own way? and reincarnate if they want to? is it maybe possible that everyone having their own religions will go on to their respective "heavens" or reincarnations?

I think that every soul always has free will, so we are in control of each of our reincarnations. At the same time, there is the issue of karma, so there are probably rules to go by when deciding where/when/why/with whom to reincarnate. But keep in mind that our mindset is completely different when we die. Our souls have a greater understanding of the universe, to our souls dying is going home ... heaven is our true home, I kind of look at the earth as a hotel we're staying at while away :D And I think that we all know and love way more souls than we are aware of, because we just can't remember them right now in this life.
I've heard people talk about how different people's heavens are adjusted to what they believed ... but my personal belief is that when we die we remember where we were before our last incarnation. So it is a familiar place to us, it is our home. I don't believe it changes to fit what we believed in each life, because once we pass over, the veil of forgetfulness is lifted and we remember this place that is our home.

I think there are heavenly realms. The one major problem with believing in a traditional heaven, though - is that you would have to also believe in a traditional hell - and, well, you know the rest. Does anybody think there are any hellish realms, though - but that nobody stays there permenantly.

Well, nobody knows sor sure, but I think AuroraBelle captured a lot of which I think is true. They say after your soul's journey is over, it will go to "heaven" for eternity, so in a way it's possible for your granda too. But I'm not sure if I believe in that (or if I believe the soul's reincarnation circle is eternal).

But I do believe reincarnation is not a punishment and that a soul can rest for a long time between lives, if it chooses to.

But if you feel like believing in Catholic teachings gives you peace now, then that's what you need to do. I for myself think the reincarnation theory is the most calming and comforting belief there is.

do loved-ones from p.l. come around us in this life?

my dad died a week ago sunday, and even though i believe in reincarnation and life after death etc. - now, i't so hard to wrap my mind around everything.

I'm trying so hard to find comfort in my beliefs - that he's near me, and will be near me always. so, my quesstion is, now that he's passed - when he remembers the beautiful life he shared with me, is he also remembering about the beautiful connections he shared in the lives he had before the one he shared with me?

If he comes around me, is he also now coming around other living spirits that were close to him in past lives?

it's an interesting idea/theory to believe that spirits that we never even knew in this life might be around us as well as the loved ones we have lost in this life.

i miss my daddy so much, and am trying to wrap my mind around this sudden tragic loss. this forum has been a huge source of inspiration and comfort in the last several months as well as the last week when i have had to deal with a loss first-hand. i'd like to extend my thanks to all of you and to carol.

I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Yes, I believe we are very often drawn to the same souls life after life. We might not be with all of them in every life, but eventually you'll meet again. And it might happen sooner better than later, you never know. ;)

Take care,

Karoliina

Hi Callie,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. (((Callie)))

when he remembers the beautiful life he shared with me, is he also remembering about the beautiful connections he shared in the lives he had before the one he shared with me?

I believe so. I think that we return to our natural spirit state -- and are filled with love and knowledge for all the experiences and memories we've had.

it's an interesting idea/theory to believe that spirits that we never even knew in this life might be around us as well as the loved ones we have lost in this life.

I agree. And I think it's a beautiful example of Love being the most important thing. It endures forever.

Thinking of you, and sending you Light,

Ailish

Your loss saddens me Callie. You said:

Your father is as close as your heart, just focus inward and you'll feel his love. My dad has been gone since 1995, and whenever I need to lean on the memory of his generosity and kindness, he's always here for me. His enduring example has made me a lot better person than I once was.

John

Hi Callie

Losing someone you're close to suddenly, is tough. Give yourself time to grieve. In answer to your questions, those we are closest to are quite often part of our soul group. That is a group of souls who hang out together for study and planning inbetween lives and incarnate together back on Earth or some other planet.

It is very possible that your dad is visiting you. When our emotions are all tied up it can be pretty hard to sense them though. One way to get in touch is through dreams. During the day and before you go to sleep, state in such a way that the event has already happened, that you want to visit with your dad. ( I visit with my dad while I'm asleep, and I remember it when I wake up.) Give it time to work.

Jack

Hi Callie, my condolences.

I had a dream the other night that I was a small child and that my mum was my daughter in my current life. She was pushing me along in a pushchair, just round the corner from where I lived as a boy. I kept calling her "Moni" (she's Monika); at first she seemed disconcerted that I was calling her "Moni" rather than "Mummy".

When I woke up I was worried that I'd die before I'd see any grandchildren - then I realised the dream suggested I'd be my own grandson!

I do think close souls do re-gather. Our consciousness is eternal; I believe we can will ourselve back to be together again.

Michal
