Meditations and Runes

I have a question and a reflection to share. I looked back into my journal notes from twelve years ago to respond to the Ancient Egypt thread and Crystals question. I came across two things that struck me;

  • One, using a Rune for a sense of direction to meditate on
  • Two, - the awareness of my name - and that of another

4/7/95 - I wrote -

I pulled a rune today since my mind was filled with spiritual reflections from previous mediations. I pulled the rune of Perth.... Initiation. It stands for the heart of initiation, and is symbolized by the flight of the eagle. I have not pulled a rune in a while and then I rarely do. Only on occasion. After the meditation yesterday this rune seems to be very poignant with hidden meaning!

So I did a meditation.....

I went into the light and received several glimpses of Egypt and temples as well as images of other initiates. Meisha was a name I received, but it didn't feel like mine, it was someone I knew. Another initiate.

Time lapsed and I was standing outside in the sun light. BUT -I could feel the light within my own body. I stood facing the sun as it rose and I was told that "the initiates would be scattered like the wind but would someday be rejoined for the betterment of mankind."

I had never heard the name Meisha before writing it in my journal in 1995. I wrote it down immediately after the meditation because I am NOT good at remembering names. Just ask my students. :rolleyes::rolleyes: I even spelled it the same. I think. Ailish - this side note is for you. ;)

Has anyone else used runes as a way to direct a meditation? If so - have you had any results or are there any experiences you care to share? It never ceases to amaze me how subtle and gentle spirit is in their ways of communication. Especially when years have passed...and hidden meanings are revealed.

Wow, Deborah - that's phenomenal! Revelations, indeed! (And you did spell it the same ;) )You've got me all excited now! :D I am going to have to do a little research and meditation - you already have my notes ;)

I remember using runes in a past life - but have not used them in my present life as a means for a sense of direction to meditate on. It sounds like an interesting idea though - and I'd love to try it. It never fails to amaze me - how important journalling is - and how something from a meditation can reveal a specific meaning twelve years later.

I'd also love to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar!

Hi Deborah

inspired by your thread i went to our beautiful bowl with the runes - have not done that in ages - a great set which my husband gave me a couple of years ago - and I picked Eihwaz - the Yew tree - insight and strength - what a great rune specially at this time of the year

The runes are very strong - don't really use them often or for meditation more for directions and it always surprises me how accurate they are
