Memories of Biblical Times

When I was much younger, I had a dream that I was sitting beside the disciple, Andrew at a table, and I was a 5-year old girl named Ruth.

Jesus was there, sitting on the floor in a corner talking to two other men. I went to him and told him that I didn't want him to leave the house the next day because something terrible was going to happen to him, and I began crying.

He lay me down on a pallet on the floor and stroked my hair until I fell asleep. I don't know if it was a dream or a memory, but I woke up feeling wonderful the next day.

He found me a new home

Several years ago a therapist did a regression with me and asked if I remembered any lifetime taking place during biblical times. Immediately I began recalling a life as a very little girl, maybe six.

I was standing in the front dirt of my house, a shack on the intersections of a main dirt road and some kind of side road, maybe. There was a hill rising up in front of the house, across the road. It was barren and more like a giant rock dirt pile than anything substantial, so it seemed. My clothes were really shabby and I think I was pretty poor. My mother was dead and I think I may have had a younger brother.

Anyway, a group of people came up the road and were headed past the property. A middle-aged looking man seemed to lead them and he seemed important to the others. One of the men walking closest to him broke away and came over to me, asking if they could have some of the water from our well. I shrank back from him because I was afraid my father would see me talking to people and beat me. The man heading the group noticed and came up to me.

I was frightened, but when I looked in his eyes, which were a beautiful golden brown, I wasn't so afraid and new he wouldn't hurt me. He said they meant no harm and could they have sip of our water. Somehow he noticed some bruises on my arm and he stopped looking so kind. About that time, my father came flying out of the house, yelling at them and me. Obviously he meant to hit me and at that moment the nice man stepped in front of me, grabbing my father's arm and looking even more mad than my dad! He growled some things about men who hit children and that my father didn't deserve such a gift from God. My father made a remark about me being no gift and that if the man wanted me, he could have me and the sooner the better! He then staggered back into the house (drunk, as usual) and the nice man pulled me against him in a wonderful hug that gave me the oddest warm feeling of safety and love. He kneeled down and said that if I would come with him, he would take me somewhere where people would be kind to me and love me. Not being stupid, I went with the nice man and someone carried me most of the way.

"The Way" was to a bustling dity (so it seemed to me) and to a house which was on a corner. A woman opened the door and threw her arms around him and after their greeting, he told her about me and asked them to take me into the family and make me one of their own. They did.

Based on more vague details I'm not relating here, I really think the man was Jesus and the woman was his mother or maybe a sister. He went off on further tracks and I don't remember seeing him again until I was in my teens. I'm not sure if I was at the cruixification of not, but part of me feels I was. By then I was like another sister.

If he was Jesus, he wasn't all sweetness and light as often portrayed. He was real human being with feelings and certainly a temper. He looked somewhat like some of the paintings, kind of tall, thin, wiry and strongly built (not bulky), reddish brown hair, darker or tanned complexion, pointed chin, kind of chisled features and wonderful, piercing brown eyes.

The teacher Jesus

I had a dream a few years ago, where I found myself in some kind of temple dressed in a white robe.

As I walked by an open exit,I saw a man with dark long hair carrying a cross on his back. His white dress was all blood stained, and a large crowd of people were following him. He walked on a very narrow street.

I asked who the man was,and somebody said it is the teacher Jesus. It was just like a every day event.

The Essenes and the Pharisees

I remember the Essenes and the Pharisees being basically the same people.

They were just two different views of the same theology.

We often dressed the same and had the same prayers and ceremonies.

The difference lies in that the Essenes accepted the tradition of the natural lineage of the priesthood and the priesthoods of other Semetic peoples as being from the same source.

The Pharisees, on the other hand, rejected the priesthoods (well, many of the newer generations of Pharisees) of other Semetic peoples. They also didn't recognize the traditional line of high priest. That's why I was involved with the Essenes rather than the Pharisees.

I was the legitimate heir to the position of high priest if Herod had not hired someone to be there.

This is why you hear in the bible of the Jews not dealing with Samaritans. Legitimately Samaritans were considered just like us. But in the last hundreds of years, a real split came. Especially in the time of Jesus did people began to see them as alien and even filthy for taking any part in the beliefs of the Assyrians and Persians.

Many Samaritans lived in Qumran.

As for daily life, I just remember waking up in a small mud house with two rooms. The room I slept in contained a small altar of incense which I put on my prayer shawl and prayed in front of. I would write at a low table for much of the day prayers and inspirations I got. I would also copy scriptures. But this I did with the help of people at Qumran and Jerusalem.

They were not necessarily all Essenes. Scribes were not even necessarily religious. Jesus had this beef with scribes charging too much money and only copying for the rich in Jerusalem. He argued that if the religious would only make religion available to the poor in Galilee, they would be just as faithful in keeping the word as the pompous brats in Judea.

Then I would go outside and teach the two or three small boys of the village where I lived how to read and write and recite prayer. I would go out to the field and help in tilling the rough soil for coarse wheat and barley(?). We grew some grains.

Then about every week or two, I would travel around Jerusalem or to the river Jordan on the banks to preach. The city was too crowded and full of kooks, so I would go out there.

That's my life. Or was. Pretty boring.

I lived in Judea, and I was a Roman

I lived during the time that "Jesus" lived. I lived in Judea, and I was a Roman, part of the occupying force stuck in that hot, dry, dusty provincial backwater, dreaming of returning to 'civilization'.

We didn't take him the least bit seriously, he was just some local religious zealot as far as Rome was considered. But, they made it our problem when they accused him of maiestas (calling himself a King), and we were also under orders to keep things peaceful between Rome and the Judeans.

I have only one memory of him, and that isn't a pleasant one.

I saw him after he'd been made sport of by my fellow countrymen, as he was kneeling before the governor's chair, beaten and bloodied, but amazingly serene, in the face of our sneering. We were rather mystified by the whole thing. This seemed like an internal Jewish matter, related to their religion, but they wanted us to deal with it. And by charging him with maiestas, that made it a Roman issue, and the sentence was merely a formality once he admitted to the charge.

It was a great shame, that such a teacher and a philosopher as he was, got caught up in a political tug of war between the authorities of his own religion, and the Roman Empire.

Yet, had he not, had not he gained the crown of martyrdom, he might have been only one of many preachers throughout history.

The story of Ruth

I am still deliberating over the possibility that I had a 'Biblical life'. I had what I think was a past life dream a few years back about being Ruth from the Bible.

There were a few points which made me class this as a PL dream. One was that before I started that part of the dream, I was high in the mountains on an ancient path with 3 watches that all said different times (glad my mind works in such obvious symbolic ways sometimes!!).

Secondly, I knew nothing about Ruth before I had the dream - I've never even read the Bible, but my dream checked out pretty well with what supposedly happened to her.

Thirdly, when I woke up I KNEW it was a very important dream unlike the average "oh look, there goes an elephant on roller skates".

And finally, when my curiosity led me to check out the story of Ruth, I had the characteristic and instinctual reactions to say "I did NOT do that" and was shocked to realise I had shifted into the first person.

I will be brave and tell you that I was Mary Magdalene. although my name sounded more like "Miriam Magdala."

I remember Yeshua to be about 5ft 10", slim and boney but strong. he had a good sense of humour and was the kind of teacher who draws people in to listen to him. i remember him as having dark skin, brown almost black eyes and scruffy black hair. he had a beard, but it was just longer than stubble.

I remember Yeshua definately had a brother whose name sounded like "YAACOV."

I also remember him having at least 3 other siblings, but I'm not sure if they actually were his true siblings, or if they were close friends who he called "brother" and "sister." These names are: SHIMON (male)

SHALOM, MIRYAM (female)

Forgive me if the names are not exact. i am typing them phonetically. I can see them in my mind, how they are written in Hebrew but I don't have the correct font to type it in that language.

A female cousin of Yeshua's

I have a dream/memory of being an early teen female, a cousin of Yeshua. I am sitting on a boulder and he walks past me messing up my hair with his hand. I sense he is saying something but I don't get what he is telling me, like a forwarning.

The other memory I have is tragic. I have never discussed it and I try not to think about it or I end up in tears.

I have one later, of sitting in a room with two males, one on a bed-couch, another at a table. Its like they are stunned, lost. The names I attribute to them is James on the bed and Peter at the table. Its like a photo, because it is so silent and no one is moving.

Everyday life in Judea - growing up near Yeshua's family

My memories are of everyday life; I was a young girl....who lived near Yeshua's family.

I remember his sister well. But I did not call her 'Ruth.' Also, I never thought of him as a preacher. He was to me..... a teacher and my best friend's older brother.

***************************************
I am a small child, barely 2 years old. I was very frail in build, with curly brownish blond hair. My mother has me wrapped in a blanket and was carrying me on her back. She put me down by the goat and cattle pen behind our home. I am in Judea...I recognized my home, my mother and the surroundings from meditations before.

Time changed.... I was about 4-5 years old and I am outside playing. I see Yeshua and a few other boys about 10 -11 years old playing a game with special stones on the ground. They are small stones polished smooth; the boys are all seated under a covering that hangs from the side of a small structure. I was too young to play or to understand the game, but I watched for a while.

Time shifts, I am about seven years old. My friend Elish and I are in a pen behind her house. There are twin baby goats, new borns. We were sitting in the straw petting them; they were so cute, I could feel my heart smiling. :D One was black and brown, the other was black and brown with a white stripe on his chest. We were giggling.

Time shifts.....I am somewhere where the women are preparing food. I would rather be where the men are. : angel

I am about ten years old, I am walking to my house. I looked down to see what I was wearing - a blue linen drape over my head, and a linen dress, with a red shaw tied in the middle. I am also wearing scandals. I noticed a bag hanging from my sash..a leather bag that thumped on my hip as I walked. It was small, but filled with stones - special stones to play a game. The same game I saw Yeshua and the older boys playing when I was younger.

I walked into my home, into a room with a high window to the left, the entry door into the room was slightly arched and the house was made of what looked like clay or mud bricks. I see my mother sitting on the floor spinning thread/yarn. The spinning tool looked like a stick with a round wheel in the center. She placed her hands on the wheel and spun it to make the threads. The sun was shining through the window and the room was filled with a beautiful golden glow.

Time shifts.. I am older..I am in a holy place..there is a ceremony - like a wedding. I am so happy...my friend Elish is getting married. She is wearing an all white linen dress and wrap, and had a string of flowers up over her head that is at least six feet in length from one side of her to the other. They are holding candles. It is a quiet ceremony, filled with prayers. They are on their knees in front of a holy man. The ceremony seemed brief and simple. Then there is music and celebration.

Yeshua is here, he is so happy for his sister - he came for her..but can only stay for a little while, he is leaving again soon.
