Memories of The Gold Rush/Wild West

Do any of you have memories of the Gold Rush/Wild West? I have always been fascinated by this time period and I watch the History channel whenever they talk about this time. I had a life as a singer in a saloon and gained some minor notoriety. I traveled all over the US and enjoyed lving in New Orleans the most. I had a dream about this life when I was 16. Does anyone else remember this time period?

Lol, yes, but I was on the opposing side of the gold rush. I still don't own any gold anything with the exception of a few gold colored crayolas in my little guys crayon bucket.

There is a website called Legends of America that I've found that's interesting to read through and it covers a lot of this time period especially in the northern plains.

When I was a kid, I was fascinated by the pioneers who traveled across the plains to the west. I remember when I was about 8 or so, there was this commerical (I don't remember what it was for) but it was a couple guys riding horses in a rugged western mountain pass in the snow. The first time I saw it, I blurted out: "That looks like where the wagons got stuck!" My mom looked at me and said: "What?!" I couldn't explain what I said, it just came out.

I've got one of "those feelings" about the west, but haven't remembered anything yet.

Absolutely. I'm more obsessed with this period of time than I am with anything else, and I'm a self-proclaimed history buff. I'm constantly reading books about it, listening to the music from that period of history and watching any documentary or movie I can get my hands on.

While I have so far had no past life memories of this time period, if there is any past life I'm sure I've had it's in America's West during or immediately after the Civil War.

Like kemetic18 said, I have one of "those feelings." It's a pretty strong one, too.

Woodrow, I am exactly in the same boat as you!! I am more obsessed with the Wild West/1840's Gold Rush than any other time period in history. Any time a documentary about this time period comes on TV I make sure to watch it.

No John Wayne for me

I remember my grandmother LOVED westerns and always watched things relating to this. Out of all the time periods I am the least interested in this one. I think it is soooo boring (no offense, =) my personal opinion) . Its funny though, because the only dream I have ever had about a past life was in this era. But I was told by a person that can see past lives that I was Native American a few times. I am part Native American now. So maybe I was on the "Indians" side of the "Cowboys and Indians" most of the time.
