Memory of a lost love. Other things that may be of interest here.

The things I am about to describe here may be the most deeply personal, and personally truthful thoughts and feelings I have ever expressed or written. I have been reading here today and decided my experiences may be of some interest here, research wise. Validating things for others, putting the puzzle together and seeing common themes in others stories and my own. I Have never practiced any sort of regression, I have never even really sought information on reincarnation or the things I have taken for granted to be a part of my life, my very secret inner life, I have kept all things pertaining to this entirely to myself since I was a child for reasons I will share later in this narrative.
Since I was a very small child, since I can remember, I have had an obsession with antiques and old houses, to the point where I would get physically sick around them, like some sort of nostalgia so strong I could not physically handle it, but it wasn't a bad feeling, it was a wonderful feeling. Of all the things that faded with time, that feeling has remained to this very day, the sickening overwhelming feeling antiquities cause me, and my absolute love of them. However when I was a child, seeing these things or going into old houses, triggered these memories. Just flashes, like a name that is on the tip of your tongue that you can not remember, that is how the memories felt, it was a sudden rush of "Oh! I know this.." But the memory was gone as soon as I had felt it. The flashes were of a house I felt I had lived in, the thing I knew for certain was that there were many paintings on the ceiling in one of the rooms, separated into squares by silver lines, and that there was someone familiar there with me, although I did not know who. Also , oddly enough, that my hair was very nice, very curly in an updo. That is all I knew of details, the rest was just a yearning nostalgic feeling, that there was so much more to remember. However old houses were not the only thing that caused memories and sickening nostalgia, the night sky when I was a child gave me the same feelings. I would get sick when the stars were bright, I would cry and when my Mother asked why I said I just wanted to go home. That is how I felt. An overwhelming longing to just go home, with no idea of where that was or why I felt this. I felt like I literally missed the cold stillness of space, and it reminded me of the place I could not re call as well. I had strange memories of drifting peacefully in deafening silence past galaxies and stars, I would think about it to put myself to sleep and calm myself down. This prompted a running joke that I was an Alien and wanted to go home to space, I resented this belittling of my very real emotions, no one understood and I felt very alone. I decided to keep things very much to myself.

Something that may be of note is that over my lifetime I have barely changed internally. I started writing when I was in Kindergarten, things that were far beyond my years, and by 13 I won a 500 dollar grand prize in an adult poetry contest. In Grade one I went to the back of my classroom, focused on a bin of blocks as a point of mental reference, and created a message for my future self that I am connected very clearly with to this day, it was " Remember that when you were 6, you were not a child like everyone else, you understood, don't think of yourself the way adults remember themselves as children". I couldn't handle the notion that when I was an adult I would think of my 6 year old self as an un-understanding child, it insulted me. It's actually very funny, and I got my message to my future self, it stuck with me. I have been a writer since I could spell. When I write, I feel like I nearly go into a trance, what comes forth seems like it isn't from me. I write terrible, violent, sadistic poetry. Often from a Man's point of view, often alluding to supernatural forces as well as past lives, things I feel familiar with without ever really giving them much thought. Things I feel I know without explanation. I've had complex theories regarding religion and theology that have not changed since I was a little child, they are unshakable, no matter what theories or things I heard throughout my life I felt like I had a pre determined set of beliefs separate from anyone else's, I just "knew" things, in my soul.

Now those tip of the tongue memories I spoke of, they were lost entirely by the time I was 7 or 8. I stopped getting flashes of them and I knew whatever it was, was lost. However, when I turned around 16 I became interested in astral projection and things of the sort. I was quite determined to accomplish astral projection, and one day I did. And where I went was to a memory.

I was standing by a stone structure, with a tunnel in the middle, and I heard violin music, when things became clear enough to me I looked around and saw a man sitting in front of me, playing this violin and singing to me. What I felt when I looked at this man I can hardly describe. He was home, he was what I had yearned for, I knew him entirely and completely, I loved him with a love so strong I could never in my life until that moment have imagined it. My heart broke, I embraced him and sobbed and sobbed " I've missed you, I've missed you" He only laughed. I knew it was a memory and I couldn't interact with him, really. It was like looking at an old picture, there was no satisfaction in being there, only heart wrenching sadness, I felt terrible loss.

I heard the sound, of what sounded like an old camera flash, and then I was back. It was so traumatizing I never tried astral projection again. I dreamt of him many times after that, in things that felt like half creations of my own mind with bits of real memory. I wrote things about him. My heart honestly still yearns very much for him. I do have the sense though that I won't find him in this life, that he isn't here.

I love the man I am with now very much, I could absolutely see myself marrying him and spending the rest of my life with him, but I know for certain he is not my soulmate, he is not "meant" for me. I actually feel he is meant for someone else and I am greedily taking what is theirs. I once told him that I love him like a precious object in someone elses house. I feel I can look, and touch, and imagine as if it were mine, but it can never be mine. This disturbed him as he feels he wants to be with me for the entirety of his life, so I have kept such emotions to myself since.

It does feel good to finally put out into the world these secret internal events that have shaped my life, and been kept to myself for so very long. I am now 24. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

Welcome to the forum. wellllllcome I would say these are definitely past life memories. You should start keeping a journal and write everything down. Now that you have written these memories down, more memories may start bubbling up from the unconscious. You sound like many of the people here. You are NOT crazy. Just think of it as being "advanced". LOL

Welcome Sadie. What an interesting story, thank you for sharing it. Did you say that you have always believed in and knew about reincarnation? How do you feel about this being a possible past life memory? It sounds like it to me, especially regarding the highly emotional feelings they bring out in you.

Have you ever looked into or read about the twin soul theory? This might be related. You are not the first person to go through life with someone other than your twin soul. It is difficult, especially in quiet moments when their presence is felt on a deeper spiritual level. It hurts, yes, but I believe we have the strength and the need to go on. There are many lessons to learn, and I think this situation for you is a prime example.

I wish you the best on this journey. And again thanks for joining us and sharing such a personal story. I look forward to hearing more.

yes, I have believed since before I heard of reincarnation and first felt these things that they were from somewhere I had been before I was here. I didn't understand how exactly, as I got older I heard the things I already assumed explained as reincarnation. When I had the experience with astral projection, which I suppose accidentally became a regression experience, I was entirely certain it was a memory, and if it wasn't of this life it had to have been from a previous one. I haven't read about twin soul theory. I'll have to do that.
