My Son, who is three, was at my Mothers house with his younger brother and myself. As Grandma brought the sandwiches and the cakes into the room his face changed to utter delight to see mince pies on one of the plates. He has never had a mince pie before so I was quite surprised at his excited reaction. He picked one up ... took a knife and removed the 'lid' which he placed on the side of his plate before demolishing the rest of the pie. My Mother and I were astonished as the removal of the pie lids was something that my Pop Pop used to do (My Mother's Father). Pop died before I was born so Jack could not have seen him do it. When I asked him why he had removed the top of the pie he replied that it was something he always did !!

Hello Scorpio, and welcome to the forum! Your experience with your son is very interesting - it could well be that he was your grandfather in a previous life! Are there any other clues, such as physical resemblance?
Maybe you could pay attention to "unusual" things your son does or says, and keep a journal - it needn't be anything elaborate, but it might be useful later!

Isn't it fascinating the things kids will do, just out of the blue like that. It tends to make us wake up and pay closer attention.
At three year old it seems unlikely he picked the habit up some where, if he has never seen anyone do that before. I wouldn't be at all suprised to find it's something that he carried over from a past life. Are there any other habits he has or things he has said, mannerisms, that make you think he may have been your Pop? If so, I second Reynardine's suggestion of writing it down. Years from now, when you share it with your son, you'll be glad you did.

Mince pies are a sweet pastry with sweet mincemeat inside (not meat really but chopped up raisins and fruit) they are usually small (four bite size) and eaten predominantly at Christmas ...
I took the boys to Mums yesterday and got out some old photos of Pop pop but they didn't seem to have any impact on either of them ... although thinking about it Jack did seem to recognise a dog that my Mum had as a little girl ... hmmmmm
