More children with PL's dreams nowadays?

For several decades now, it "seems" to me that more and more children are being born today, that seem to remember a past life.

It can be either the immediate PL they just left or ones further back, and they seem to have visions or dreams of a time when they had a different body and different parents and siblings.

In my case as a child, it was dreams of a different body and places, that was so realistic that I would often wake up, and lay there half the night thinking of the dream.

Now mind you, even then as a child, I knew the "flavor" or the "taste" of a nightmare and would often wake up screaming if I had one, but not these PL dreams.

Just the personal opinion of an old man.

It could be that, as reincarnation is being taken a bit more seriously in the western world in recent years, that more people, children and parents alike, are coming forward with their own personal experiences, without so much fear of being ridiculed.


On the other hand, others believe that we are moving into an age where the level of 'spiritual awareness' is being raised, thus more and more people are remembering. But in my personal opinion, I would go with the former explanation. I think everyone has past life memories, some more than others, but the majority of people don't even consider anything more than imagination as a reason, while others simply choose to keep their experiences to themselves.

After considering the information in your post, I would now tend to agree with you, especially the acceptance of Reincarnation by the mainstream Western world.


Nowadays, if and when you mention Reincarnation to close friends in carefully couched words, say for instance, the experiences that you have had in your life, then people don't look at you like you have horns and a tail.


I believe you are right about Reincarnation being more and more accepted, when I was a child, it was thought of as a Far Eastern concept relegated to esoteric studies in dusty old libraries.


Now it seems people are becoming more receptive to alternate belief systems to answer their questions in life, and while I label myself a Christian, I don't at all, find it difficult to include Reincarnation into Christianity where it belonged in the first place.

I remember a conversation my mom and I had a few months back. She was watching a 24-hour news channel telling me that there's more evil in the world then there's ever been before. I said that's not true. You just never heard much about it before. It wasn't that long ago that the only way to get the news was to read the newspaper and watch a half hour news program in the evening. The internet and cable television changed everything. Stories that used to get a paragraph on the back page of the newspaper, if anything at all, are now being blogged about on the internet, and get an entire segment on your favorite 24-hour news channel. Nothing slips through the cracks anymore.


Stories and information on reincarnation are no different. They are getting more light shining on them than ever before.

When one looks at the history of our Western society, especially during the last two hundred years, it is interesting to notice the continuity of our path from the Victorian reductionist philosophy of determinism to the eventual wisdom that there are things beyond our senses worth consideration. Of course, we have witnessed some extreme swings back and forth between these two paradigms during that time. Even during the best of times, when parents witnessed their children making unusual claims, they continued ignoring them as typically childish imaginings.


Now that technology has enabled our awareness to such a great degree, I think we are coming out of the dark ages with greater energy than ever before.


I remember the first time that I went into a library specifically looking for anything relating to reincarnation. Although I haunted libraries often before 20 years ago, I found reincarnation to be another possible leg of the paranormal table. But, I was totally put off by the New Age material evidenced in bookstores. I had never heard of Dr. Ian Stevenson before, but his name came up in the card files (remember those?) and he seemed to provide the first hint of intelligent investigation on the subject of reincarnation. It took quite a while and much more reading to finally accept some of it, and Carol's books are what tipped the scales.


Now, much more is available; and, when parents discuss the strange claims of their children, they tend to Google "reincarnation". Or, their friends on Facebook recommend Carol's books.


I would be willing to bet, that if technology and the internet continue expanding as it has without interference by governments and special interests, there will be many more reports, which can be examined by researchers. At some point, I expect, studies of Reincarnation, ESP, Telepathy, Telekinesis, Remote viewing, Premonitions, After-death communications, Near-death and Out-of-body experiences will eventually become accepted mainstream; and, when the volume of research data obtains critical mass, the rest of society will become more open to observing phenomenon, which probably occurs under their noses every day.
