Hi,
I am from Malaysia. My only daughter is 19 yrs old when I gave birth to my son in 2007.
One day I played a song from the 1960's by our Malaysia's legend Tan Sri P.Ramlee (died in 1973).
My son was 3 months old then...he immediately loves the song and it was like a lullaby for him & the song put him to sleep. Thereafter, each time he wanted to sleep he demanded to listen to the song. For your information, that song is a very rare song of the Legend & not a popular song at all in this era. I was so puzzled at that time.
As he grows older, he loves to watch all the movies of Tan Sri P.Ramlee. Bear in mind that all his movies are in black & white.
Now, my son is 2 yrs & 2 mths old and he can talk. He can identify that the song is Tan Sri P.Ramlee's songs just by the song intro of less than 5 seconds; songs he has never heard before.
Whenever I ask my son to point out Tan Sri P.Ramlee from the movie, he'll walk to the tv screen & point him out; nobody has ever taught him that. My son will even tell me that "I am P.Ramlee".
