My 21 month old

My 21 month old daughter has lived before. She has a huge vocabulary, but won't say her name - Kendra. Her name is Jaju. "I'm Jaju!" she says. A few weeks ago she stood in the kitchen and very forcefully said. "I want to go home. Jaju wants to go home. Home to the mountain. Jaju wants to go home to the mountain." "Kendra we are home." "NO! Jaju wants to go home to the mountain!" Once DH asked her why she picked us to be her parents and she said, "friend." So who knows. I have come to believe in reincarnation. We do think Kendra must have lived on or near a mountain. She talks about the mountain all the time. We searched the
web and Jaju is an Indian last name and the Korean word for independence - that's if we are even spelling it right. The whole thing really freaks my mom out. DH and I are just trying to deal with it matter-of-factly. Maybe someday we'll figure out where and when she lived before.

Hi Barbara,

I hope that you and your husband (as well as your mother) have taken the time to read both of Carols' books. I also hope that you have started a journal to record what she is saying, so that as time progresses, (and it sounds like she may spontaneously report more) you can fit the pieces to the puzzle together.

Do keep us posted as to new 'reports' by her and any findings you come up with.

Thanks for the reply. I've read Carol's first book, the Old Souls book about Stevenson and some articles about this phenomenon. I want to read more Stevenson, but since his books are academic they are too pricy for me. I'm going to try to get them via Inter-library loan.

We are going to start a journal. I'm sure Kendra will forget her past as she ages and want to give it to her when that happens. I'm also sure she will tell us more as she learns more words.
