My 7 Years Old Son's Past Life Memory

I read about 20 to 30 books about past lives, reincarnation, aura, astral travel, etc. about 3 to 4 years ago. I asked my son that if he remembers anything about heaven when he was about 3 to 4 years old. He said no at that time. I know most of past live memory of children is fading away after they pass 5 years old. So I don't expect he will have past live memory.

But one day early this year, at lunch time, he started telling me something happened in a house before he died last time. I immediately know that is his past life memory. Since he had a Sunday class that afternoon, I asked him to continue the story on the road. The story is pretty long and I don't want go into detail here. One thing he said that the year was 1224 and at that time, there was no medal, the house was made out of wood and stone. With all the knowledge I have about past lives, I was not surprised. But this is just a beginning. After he finished his story, he said he also "spied" my lives. He said I had three lives before this life. He told me my first life briefly before we arrived the school. I divorced. He only stays with me one day a week. His mom will pick him up after the class. He told me before he went into the classroom that he only tell me about these things but not his mom and I should not tells anybody else. So, I cannot say any specific detail here.

After that Sunday, I have been asked him to tell me more about the past lives and other related things. Every time I used a tape reorder to record his word and I typed into MS Word at the same time. But since we started doing this, he seems slow to reach the memory (even slower than my typing). And he seems tired quickly. We only can do one of the lives each time. It took us several months to have "all" our past lives recorded. From his memory, we have been very close most of our past lives. I had been his dad or mom. He had been my dad. We were neighbor and life time friend in one of past lives. He said he does not remember the ancient languages he spoke in the past lives, but one time he used a strange language to count from one to ten.

There is some confusion:

1. Most of time, he told me the year he was born and year he died. I always asked if it is ac or bc. Some life spans were several hundred years or at one time even backward! Sometimes he told me the age when he or I died. It usually ranges from 50 to 90. They don't match.

2. About his children in the past lives, he said he had twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets in different lives. Most of his past lives are several hundred to several thousand years ago. I don't think it is possible.

3. He said he had TV in his house in one of his past lives which was more than a thousand years ago.

4. There are some discrepancies when he refers to the same thing or people at different times.

Any good suggestions to verify these things.

Hello Jay and welcome to the forum. :)

Thanks for sharing your son's story. I think it's possible he has been remembering past lives spontaneously even if he's a little older than children usually are when they do, but maybe the fact that you were sort of like "interviewing" him - not letting him talk about them when he chose to - made him go slow, and when he couldn't remember something, he felt like he should make something up to make you happy. I think this is pretty common - that children start making stories up if they are asked about them when it's not a right moment, and I think also that the slow pace is a sign the child is making up stories instead of sharing true past life experiences.

But of course some of it can be genuine, and I suggest you separate - if possible - the things your son has told you spontaneously, without asking, and from now on let him do it in his own pace. If he mentions something, you can ask him some simple questions - not leading him, but letting him decide what to share.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm a long time reader and even more a contributer than the user Info tells. But I'm very far off being an expert. But what I heard of your sons comments - it does not sound like an honest past life expierience. But -in case you didn't read Carols book:

"... in each case like this, when I felt they were fantazising, I just let them go with it, and I joined in for the fun. I didn't want them to feel like they 'failed' to do anything, because they hadn't. There was no harm done."

Sorry, my initial post may cause some confusion. I and my son have had many hours of conversation on this subject. I have just picked up those I feel questionable. They are only a very small part of all conversations.

Karoliina is right. I was sort of “interviewing” him after the first time of spontaneous talk. I was eager to know everything about my and his past lives. I read both “Children’s Past Lives” and “Return from Heaven” after his first talk. I have tried to only ask very general questions such as “What else?”, “Anything more?”, “What is the most important things happened at that time?” etc. But, I did ask him some specific questions such as name, year, location, etc.

There are some things mentioned in his talk which a 7 years old boy is not supposed to know or even most adults do not know. I just try to weed out any false information.

His first spontaneous talk happened the day after he had an accident. He fallen from a chair and his head was down first. His head skin was broken and lost some blood.

Hi Jay,

I also have a seven year old son. Even though my son is learning math in school and does well in this subject, he still has a tough time with quantities of time. A long time ago to a seven year old might seem like 1,000 years ago.

My son has also shared more than one past life with me. It is hard not to get too eager especially when they know some of your lives. I struggled with this too but in the end I just let him talk on his terms when he wanted to.

I'd also advise to focus more on experiences that your child remembers from his past lives and why that particular experience is what he remembers rather than dates and times.

I think children do sometimes mix fantasy with real past life memories. I think at 7, kids start to realize that what they are telling you is not mainstream and there might not be a logical explanation for it. This confuses them. You know your son more than anyone else. You will know when to get suspicious of a memory. You might want to be careful not to dismiss the whole memory because some of it doesn't make sense.

My son used to just tell me his memories in conversation as if I knew about these things too. He began to realize that he couldn't tell just anyone about these memories because not everyone believed him. I thought for awhile that he stopped remembering but he has recently begun to tell me about 'dreams' he is having that sound past life related to

me. I think this is how they rationalize things that don't make sense any more. Like how he could have a different family than he has now.

You are doing a great thing for your son by taking notes on what he has said. I also think there is healing in the fact that you believe him and you are listening. He clearly trusts you. Maybe that is why you are his father in this life.

Good luck to you.
