My daughter's pl murder

Hello all. I have been reading here for awhile and thought that I would share what my daughter went through. It is hard for me to tell this as the only people that believed this was our family, and only because they witnessed it.
It started when she was about 12 mo. old. She started having nightmares. She would just have hysterical fits for about an hour every night, around 1-2 am. She would grab the rails of her bed and shake or pound and claw at the crib. This continued until she was about 18-19 mo. That's when she started to scream that she didn't want to die. These nightmares got worse after that.
We moved her to a toddler bed hoping that this would help, actually it did for about 2 weeks. I guess because she didn't feel so confined. anyway that's when it came to a head. She was having another nightmare and when I went in,I spent everynight with her until her nightmare was over and then I went to bed, and she was on her knees grabbing at the headrail and curtains screaming that she didn't want to die. I grabbed her and told her it was ok that I was there. She wasn't though she was trapped in her dream. She just kept screaming that she didn't want to die, then she started choking and couldn't breathe I was trying to ask her what was wrong while patting her back. That's when she told me the water was coming in and she couldn't get out. I started to finally understand and started to talk her through her dream. To make a long story short,It finally came out that her grandma didn't want her and locked her in a trunk and threw her in the river. She couldn't let go of it. I rocked her all night and told her that that was over and I was her mother now and I would never let that happen. I would keep her safe. The dream stopped that night and never happened again. Before this night she hated baths and we fought to wash her hair, now she is a little fish in our pool. She is now seven and never said anything since that night until today. She said she was glad that I was her mom and I am keeping that mean grandma from drowning her again. I asked her what she meant and she just smiled and said you know what I mean and ran outside to play.
She is the youngest of 5 kids and never with any of them did they have the nighmares that she had.
I know this is long, thank you for letting me tell this.

Thank You

Welcome to the forum Wolffwind

Thank you so much for sharing your daughters experiences. An extremely sad yet profound experience and very specific. I am glad to hear she no longer has the nightmares. Did she ever suggest were she lived? What country or what her name was?

Here's a big hug - for your little girl.

Thank you for replying. Sorry to say but no she didn't give any info that way.She just told me that the river was cold and she couldn't get out of the trunk because it was locked. The water was coming in. She was trying to claw her way out. She was even choking like she was drowning. She did describe the trunk a little. It was wood and had like a domed lid and some type of lock that flipped down.
When she talked the way she did it shocked me because she didn't talk that much and when she did it was more babytalk than anything else. She talked more like a 4-5yr. old. Very clear and concise. It was her voice but not her words, hard to explain. It was very clear english.

Dear Wolffwind,
I have one of those old trunks with the domed lid. It is about 100 to 150 years old. I have always thought that those kinds of trunks were called coffin trunks or trunks with a coffin lid. The one I have is made of wood, with a printed paper glued to the inside. It has a tray on the inside that can be removed. Mine is large enough for a child or perhaps a small adult to be placed inside. The outside is somewhat ornate with molded metal ornamentation. The latch on the one I have does snap up just as your daughter described .

I think it is absolutely amazing that a child less than two years old would know about those old trunks. I know that those trunks are around in antique stores and in some homes but tell me, how would a child so young be able to describe it so well or be able to put it together in a story about a drowning. Amazing!. - Wicker

Wow amazing! I would sit down and have a chat with her. I wouldnt push anything on her or force her to tell you things. It could be like mother daughter day. Please keep us posted!
