My four year old son

I am new to this site. I have been fascinated by other families' stories about what some of their children say. My personal experience is with my four year old son. When he was one and a half, he had a nightmare and woke up talking about a plane that was on fire and hit a building. He continues to have daydreams and nightmares and out of the blue he will talk about this repeating it over and over, now for over three years.

Shortly after our first experience with the plane stories, he would tell us at night he saw a fire engine flying through the air. Again, he would repeat these two stories over and over every time he saw a picture of a plane or fire engine. My husband and I would wonder if he was re-experiencing a past life or just happened to see something on TV that reminded him of these things.

I have read many books by Ian Stevenson before he was born and am fluent in my understanding of past life and out of body experiences. One of the things that struck me first about my son when he was born was the fact that he was covered with birth marks. He had one behind his thigh, on his forearm, on his chest, a large one on his back, and many on the back of his neck. Some of Ian Stevenson's work focused on the connection of birth marks and past lives.

I do wonder if my son could have experienced a trauma at the WTC but, thank goodness, he is a well adjusted and mostly healthy child.

He has shown some fascination with New York City. The first name of a city he learned was New York City and every time he sees lots of skyscrapers he calls it NYC and begins to talk about planes on fire. Although technically, I don't believe the planes were on fire before they flew into the buildings. He definitely does have a wonderfully active imagination.

Thank you for the opportunity to share with such a wonderful community!

Welcome, untamedluve to the Past Life Forum, and thank you very much for sharing your son's experiences with us, it's information like this that we all learn from.

Please feel free to continue to read the other posts, especially from the other Mom (9/11 Baby - baby_rn ) concerning her son also (if you have not already done so); as her posts are very informative.

We are glad that your Son is well adjusted in this life, it rather sounds like he has worked through any trauma he might have endured in a Past Life (PL).

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have or post any updates that you might have concerning your Son, and someone will answer them. :)

Best wishes to your family in the future!

Hi Noelle, welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your son's story.

Obviously, as soon as you mention New York, airplanes and skyscrapers, one immediately thinks of the September 11th disaster. But I do believe there was another incident in New York in the 1940's when a US bomber crashed into the side of the Empire State Building, were you aware of this?

I wouldn't expect your son's nightmares to continue. The majority of children start forgetting about their past lives when they reach the age of about 6 or 7, the memories are buried deeper and deeper under layers of present life experiences, and no harm is done. Have you read Carol's book: Children's Past Lives: How Past Life Memories Affect Your Child?

Hope you enjoy your stay here, and please keep us updated.

Noelle,

Your son's nightmares and remarks are certainly interesting. But not conclusive. Keep listening and observing, as I'm sure you will.

As Hydrolad mentioned, since he is a well adjusted kid, there is no reason for concern. However, since he still has the nightmares, there might be something still bubbling underneath the surface that needs to be addressed. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest that you talk to him about the nightmares after he has one, or when you two are alone and he is relaxed. As I talk about in my first book, (which I strongly encourage you to read), just open up the discussion and ask him what he sees and engage him by asking open-ended questions. You may give him the opportunity to realize that whatever happened is over. Sometimes it's that simple to help them put the past to rest.

Keep us posted, and we're available if you need any encouragement or guidance.

Untamedluve,

Also keep a journal of what he tells you. Don't try to figure anything out, just write down exactly what he tells you, with the date. If anything in particualr triggered the conversation, note that as well. Memory tends to blend in with things you learn later, and having a record of what he actually said could be a big help later on.

Thank you...

Thank you all for your wonderful advise. I'm sure my son will continue to speak about his experiences and if he chooses to share, he will have an ear to listen.

Thanks all again,

People are like stained - glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

Thanks for sharing your story Noelle. This is certainly a touching story that interests us all. I think you've been given some excellent advice and I wish you and your son well in this life.

I second those sentiments, may your Son continue to enrich your life, as he has a soul like yours that also has had his share of experiences, and he may share these memories with you in the future.

Please feel free to visit again and ask any questions you might have.

Take your childs dreams into realization. He may as a child, enjoy airplanes, maybe the curiousity to see them destroyed or whatnot, or even further. A childs mind is just as aware as any, maybe his knowledge of pictures, or talks, of NY could give him relation to his dreams.

It could just be his idea of knowing about the event on Sept...

Circumstances and coincidences, are all an effect.

Either or, truth or pastlife or ESP or premonitions, your child has a gift, read books (not just any) and call his signs, and help him achieve his/her true potential. Im aware alot of us on this site have or have not been capable of such. A child with destructive dreams is very terrifying...its more of a 50/50. Understanding, or accepting.

I try not to bring alot to the table on this website as Im new, and not sure what the people want to hear.

Ive been called a schizoid my whole life from what I believe is truth, either it being my dreams, my premonitions, my thought patterns. My dreams tell a better story than my actual life, as anyone's. From what once was called a dark child, to a mental illness, to a giftful child, we wonder whats next. Take your prodigy and let him/her grow into something this world likes to call perfect.
