My Funny Valentine

Where my bones are laid to rest

When I turned 20, I ran into a law professor I had an association with at the age of 13 and 14. I had become entangled in a political rivalry and it was nice to hear the voice of an old friend. He introduced me to his wife on the telephone.

The recall of my ‘valentine’ past life had come to the surface. She was interested in hearing as many details I could describe. I started describing the battlefield and the battle that took place. She was an educated woman. I started describing the opposing army and she felt I was describing a certain style and type of army she was familiar with. Each detail I expressed added weight to her assumption. Each description narrowed it down in her mind. Finally, she started asking me questions about my memory and pinpointing details I had never shared with anyone. I kept asking how she knew the details as vividly as she did. She told me that I was describing a very historical battle that was recorded in ancient history. Then she said,

“Do you know anything about a marker or monument put up to commemorate the battle. “

I told her,

“If you grew up with me – you would have heard me talking about that all the time. Have you spoken to my family about this? Is that how you know so much about it?”

I had never told anyone in my family what figure the statue was. I tested the woman and asked her if she knew what sort of figure the statue was since I had never given out that information to anyone. I felt I was saving that information for my valentine. If I had never spoken on it and he knew it as I did then it was a validation process. It was and is – a statue of a lion.

She was on the line with her husband and making comments about how remarkable it was. She kept commenting on the genuine nature of my testimony and my sincerity.

She told me what scholars and historians had written about the battle as well as the army of lovers that had made up the troop she felt I was given testimony of. I was excited that she knew where the spot was the monument was located. I wanted to wait until I found the ‘valentine’ partner before making plans to study the history of the events as recorded in history books as well as studying the geographical location. I told the wife,

“The only other person in the world I know of who is going to have the same genuine interest in this is the one I am looking for. I feel it is a truth we are meant to explore together as one.”

If what I was told educated woman is to be believed as true – then the battle was called, the Battle of Chaeronea and the troop my ‘valentine’ and I were a part of was called the “Sacred Band of Thebes.” She felt the statue I started looking for at the age of 8 – was called the “Lion of Chaeronea.”

I told her I wouldn't know what it was called in English. When I had access to it - it was though a foreign language. The photographs of the statue are exactly how I described it as a child - including the fact that the statue had fallen in a field before being put back in place. (See: Photo.)

That was a nice bit of validation for you... How did you feel about it, then and now?
I am 52 now.....and most of this information was buried after 1980. It resurfaced in 1988 when I met my 'valentine' and the world 'seemed' to stop. All of this only resurfaced last month. It is odd in a way that I could bury so much of it and go into denial. (Over the death and loss of him.)

I was overjoyed when the wife of the professor stated that scholars and those with higher learning - were familiar with the historical battle. (This was prior to the Internet of course and such information was not available at your fingertips as today.)

The most amazing piece of validation for me is looking at the photographs with the 'statue' scattered in pieces. I was talking about this as a fact as far back as 1969. Strange as it may sound - I don't have vivid recall of what sort of 'imagery' I had of it as a child. I recall the conversations more so than bringing the image to my mind.

The wife of the professor remarked on the fact that not many people were familiar that the statue had been restored. Back then, it was a matter of fact to me. Now - I am sort of stunned and numb. For me - it is validation of something that as a child - was nothing more than a 'matter of fact' to me. Yet, it still doesn't offer rock hard evidence for the die-hard skeptics and critics of reincarnation.

DKing

I wouldn't worry about "rock hard evidence." If you feel validated then that's all that matters. If it means anything, I think that your source on the "Sacred Band of Thebes" feels correct from what you have described. That was knocking around in the back of my mind, but for some reason, I couldn't bring it up until you wrote it out.

Thanks so much for sharing all of this.

I started a genealogy quest to get my facts straight concerning the folklore tales I was told as a child about my Cherokee heritage. I was relying on my memories from childhood and I wanted facts. I had assumed it was my Grandmother's Grandmother. She had told me it was one of her Grandmothers. I assumed people only had two. She did refer to her as a 'great-great Grandmother' - but as a child - I assumed that was a reference to how 'good' of a Grandmother she was. Searching through the various family trees I found the ancestral link. This Cherokee is written about on Wikipedia and she is sort of a controversial figure.

Much like the Sally Hennings/Thomas Jefferson descendants, there are currently several lines of families who claim to descend from John Sevier and an unknown Cherokee Indian woman. Their daughter, Winney Alice Sevier, was left at the Henry Campbell farm in Russell County, Virginia, when the mother could no longer care for her. She fell in love with one of the boys who lived on the farm, Abraham Campbell, and they married and lived in a house on the adjacent farm. See: Wikipedia John Sevier
My Grandmother was a Campbell descendant. The conversations have passed down through many branches of the family tree. It was heightened when I spoke of the 'vision' of the band of Cherokees haunting the 'Trail of Tears.' Prior to this - I had been speaking about visions of other ancestral spirits. My Mom's Grandmother passed away in 1967 and I kept having 'visits' from her spirit - as well as several others including a 'semi-famous' Reverend from my Grandfather's side of the family. Rev. John MacGowan wrote a book (among others,) with a title that reflects the 'near death experience' titled "Death: a vision; or, the solemn departure of saints and sinners, represented under the similitude of a dream." [in some circles, he is considered the 'forgotten Protestant mystic.' And my family put the blame on the Cherokee family branch for my own mystical insights.]

During the summer of 1969 after one of my many NDE's - I spoke of meeting the spirit of this distant relative when I was on the other side. My Grandparents had a photo album and I was picking out people (who had passed away) that I had seen during the greeting process on the other side. When my Granddad started quizzing and testing my testimony - I got confused about it.

"Grandpa - why you asking me dumb questions about something you was there to see and hear for yourself. You was right there in the mix of all of them -along with Grandma. How come ya'll can't remember it like I can?"

My Grandfather replied by saying, "How you putting me in my grave when I ain't even died yet? How can I be in heaven and right here talking to you. No - if I was dead - I think I would be the first to know it."

Many NDE's say the same thing. The past, present and future are all one thing on the other side. I was giving testimony of this in 1969 and confusing everyone - including myself. I couldn't figure out how I could have a 'reunion' with the spirits of my living 'parents' and 'grandparents' in the spiritual realm - and then find myself back in the physical realm - while they were 'asleep' and totally 'deaf, dumb and blind' to the other side. I once told my Grandfather,

"I might as well go out and find me a rock to talk to about this subject matter and get a rock to make more sense of it than you are doing."

I giving accurate facts and stories about relatives who had passed away and they were being confirmed. Some concerned private conversation that no one else was supposed to have knowledge of.

My Grandmother inquired about her 'Great-great-Grandmother' and I promised to look into it the next time my heart stopped and I lost my breath. (My way of referring to the loss of vitals due to the cardiac condition I walked with as a child.)

I was given sort of 'classified' information concerning this particular ancestor. (Winnie Alice.) I had to have permission from the authority of spirit prior to passing on information from the other side. My Grandmother wanted to know who the mystery father was. I told my Grandmother,

"Grandma, if you knew what I knew about it you wouldn't be asking me. SHE is HERE again. You should be asking her yourself."

These memories have been pouring back into my conscious mind again and I don't have direct access to the visions as much as I have access to the conversations. It is like a puzzle I am trying to piece together and apparently I was making a reference to the fact that this particular ancestor had been reincarnated back into our family again.

It was shortly after this that I tried again and again to get my Mom to recall her own past lives and it was like pounding my head against a brick wall. My Mom had no belief in reincarnation and felt it wasn't biblical. She refused to even entertain the idea of digging back and finding latent memories of her soul - or any past life memories. I gave up and swore a vow and promise to her when I was 15 that I would never bring up the subject of reincarnation again with her. I had been warned by 'spirit guides' that I wouldn't be successful. I had been restricted to give the information my Grandmother was looking for directly. There was some sort of 'policy and procedure' involved and I couldn't violate the 'rules' concerning that sort of 'worldly knowledge.' (Now I know why I don't try and get people I know are reincarnated friends to try and recall their past lives with me. Been there, done that.)

It is my theory (based on what I have recalled so far) that I had insight to know that my Mother was the reincarnation of either Winnie Alice or the Mother of Winnie Alice. My Mom has passed away. I was told (in spirit) that I couldn't speak on the matter verbally while she was alive. It was her place and I couldn't go against her spirits wish on the matter. I felt bad for my Grandmother because she wanted the answer for the sake of a family mystery. I don't have confirmation (in spirit) but I am 90% at this point that was the deal between my Mom and I for several years. (1972-1975.)[i could be wrong through.]

But your question led me on a quest for facts and this is what I have uncovered.

DKing

Your journey fascinates me. I love reading of your quests. I can understand about not being able to tell your Mom of reincarnation because when I ask my Dad about things that would or could happen in the future he refuses to tell me.

Perhaps the deal you made with her was part of her soul growth. Maybe in the lifetime as your Mother she needed to learn lessons that she could not if she acknowledged and/or believed in reincarnation.

Remember to stay safe in your journeys (not my words ...)

I got in some practice the other day and tried to write some points down and condense them down for a summery. It is strange when I look back in reflection on my own journey and see all the 'missing pieces' where 'reincarnation' was just a fact of life - and how quickly I buried the memories. I had grown used to the 'taboo' nature of it. I feel a part of it was do to the 'sacredness' I felt toward it. They saying goes, 'don't give what is holy or cast your pearls before the 'cynics.' (The Greek word for 'cynic was dog.)

When reflecting back on the moment in the airport where I felt my spirit was lifted out and I saw 'reincarnation' directly - I was trying to find parables to express to my two traveling companions. It is amazing how I just buried that memory and went on. Recalling it as I do now - still leaves me in awe. The whole process of 'reincarnation' was beautiful.

I think I have wrote and shared in the past about another 'missing' piece where this sight was touched upon in a description back in 1981. I had sort of 'manual' understanding similar to a 'spiritual textbook' where the equations were all laid out in my mind. I didn't have actual 'sight' of the process like I later did in 1988 when I met the one my heart had been promised to.

I had three teenagers as friends. (I was a teenager myself at the time.) I was trying to explain the 'reason' I felt my path was leading me away from them in the future. I was trying to prepare them to let me go. They felt we would be together as friends until retirement. One of them was a fundy, another was agnostic and the other claimed to be an atheist. I felt he believed as I did - and was against 'organised religion.' He was allowing his disdain for religion to turn him away from his own inner spiritual path. I was trying to turn him on to the idea of meditation and prayer to get the answers he was looking for to have a 'happy life.' I told him I had an ulterior motive and it had nothing to do with converting him to a religious order. I told him,

"On the other side, your happiness in this world - will be mine. You owe to me - to be happy with yourself in the future - regardless if I am standing by your side the whole time - or if I am off in the world some where else."

My friends were constantly asking me,,,,,"What is the point?" in reference to reincarnation. I kept trying to explain the facts, figures and spiritual formulas I had sight of. I understood it for myself - but didn't know how to put it into words for my young friends minds. That is when I told my so-called 'athiest' friend to give it to God to answer for him. I told him I already knew enough to know that God had me picked out to give him the words -and my mouth was going to be nothing but a 'mouthpiece.'

I wrote out a blog post about the memory of that experience and I felt I was 'listening' in on the conversation. What was described and defined for my young friend - was exactly what I saw with my own 'spiritual eyes' in 1988.

When I first started out trying to make a comparison to what I felt I had direct sight and knowledge of - and what the world was teaching - the concept that confused me - was the 'me concept.' The whole idea that we are here to 'better our souls' through trail and error. Or the concept of 'hit or miss.' That we are sent here to weed out the bad seeds and the reward for the good seeds was heaven the punishment for bad seeds was 'hell.' I felt the world was trying to place a 'guilt trip' on us and in so - taking away from the harmony and inner peace.

So the blog post outlines the story I share with a friend from my past - and it is a story I feel we all share in our inner hearts and souls.

"What is the point.....?"

Sincerely,

DKing

Hi dking. I just read your thread.

Most interesting. I can identify with a lot of it. Knowing stuff from childhood and just accepting it, but being somewhat marginalised by it as well. I, being a girl, didn't get into any fist fights about it (much), but people did think I was a bit odd I think. Certainly I felt the odd one out a lot of the time.

I understand about the 'one true love' and the crazy mystique of it all. Perhaps you've seen my thread My friend X. There are many elements in common.

I'm about your age and I agree with you that it's a great relief to be able to talk about this kind of stuff which has just been a 'fact of life' for me since childhood, without risking scorn, ridicule or lots of silly questions ("Do you think you were Cleopatra or Joan of Arc...?). Thank goodness for the internet.

A great story. Keep up the good work.

'
The memories of my childhood are very positive when it comes to my peers. The rumor got out to the schoolyard when I was 12 due to the fact that another classmate and I had spontaneous memories of a past life together. My parents had instructed me to keep that sort of thing a 'closely guarded' secret at school. My parents made me think that the 'sky was going to fall on my head if I did.' My classmate felt we owed it to our classmates to share the revelations with them. I was terrified the sky was going to fall on me somehow. I was overwhelmed with classmates coming to me in private and sharing their own stories - about memories of a living in a former body. I would say over 75% of them came to me and stated they had been instructed to 'forget such nonsense' and keep it private to themselves.

Sixth grade was a puzzling time. That was around the age when we (as kids) had been given it to know - Santa Claus was a made up myth and feeling we had been lied to - to believe in an imaginary being that put presents under the tree during our rebellious age - only to find out it was a 'big hoax.'

I can recall one lengthy conversation with a A+ student and we were trying to figure out the puzzling minds of adults who lectured us to 'keep secrets' about Santa Clause from the younger kids - and to 'keep secrets' about our past life memories.

My peers during puberty and adolescence - never made me feel like an outcast. I felt I fit right into the group as far as trying to 'suppress' the inner knowledge we all felt we were born with. I can remember many times looking over our shoulders to make sure their were no adults within earshot of our private conversation about reincarnation memories - and trying to exchange information the other might be lacking.

My greatest problem was not understanding my parents desire for secrecy. At one point - I became very rebellious against them because I thought they were lying to me about knowing the answers to my questions about reincarnation. My shouts at them included,

"If you lied to me about Santa Claus all those years - how do I know your not lying to me now?"

I was a child and taking full advantage of the 'guilt trip' thing. At the age of 13, my parents the other elders in my family started taking me very seriously and worked 'double time' to help me cope with the profound 'recall' I was going through. It was an emotional and trying time for my family and I look back on it with a profound sense of gratitude.

Participating on the board here - sort of reminds me of being back in 6th grade again when the whole class looked for the opportunity to share 'secrets' about past lives with one another out of sight of 'dis-believing' minds.

The one central theme I feel that came out in discussion with my fellow 12y/o classmates was - we felt we had made promises to 'meet' up with others in this lifetime from a previous encounter from another lifetime. It was a great concern for all. When they heard that my friend and I had met up after giving each other that promise (in spirit) prior to our births - everyone told me it gave them hope that the one they were looking for would be found in the future. I told my classmates that my friend and we didn't have it on our mind to find one another - until after we met. Then - memories started flooding in between us where - we realized we had been looking for each other the whole time back before we were even born.

Maybe that is what made a difference for me. There was two of us who gave the same testimony. In fact, I can recall one of my classmates stating that is what stood out in their minds and made them take notice of it. They were actually going between the both of us and testing our testimony. This happened with one 'past life friend' between age 12 and 14. I moved to a new city and three of them showed up in my young life. Our friends went between me and three others our age and tested our testimony about it. I got tired of being tested after a short time - and refused to talk about it. What ever the others felt a need to talk about I would only confirm that 'yes' - we had shared memories together from a previous life. I would never give any intimate details about the past life - or the people we used to be. I felt that was personal and on a need to know basis. I didn't want to be confused about my identity. As I told one young friend. "I am not a dead man. I am different from him. I am not going to try and breath life into a corpse and wear his clothes. I got my own."At the age of 15, I became very rebellious against the idea of talking or sharing details of my past lives with just anyone. Even if my parents brought it up - I would get mad as a hornet and it would start up an old argument. They felt the shoe was on the other foot. They used to get upset when I brought the subject up - and it flipped.

I will write more about the memories of this......

DK

continuation.......

While writing this - the memories are popping into my head. My parents have passed away so - they would have loved to hear my reasoning behind the 'reversal.' After I turned 18 (and had the memory loss) my parents were trying to bring up the subject of reincarnation again. They wanted their own explanations and felt that I would be able to express it better with an adult mind of understanding.

Between the age of 15 and 18, my Mom told me that if anyone brought up reincarnation - I would pick up stuff and through it across the room in a 'fit of rage.' I had instructed (or warned) people close to me that if they brought it up - they had better run for cover fast and quick because I was going to start throwing things at them - in an all out effort to knock them out. Trust me when I tell you - I had few people running for cover during that turbulent time in my young life. I was never able to explain it to my parents after I turned 18 because of the amnesia. They felt I had intentionally 'buried' the memories because I had uncovered something very troubling.

They were part way right. I was coming of age and anyone who has experience with teenage boys - should know the answer. Everything was 'sexualized' during that period. I couldn't think of anything without it having some sort of physical influence on me 'down below' - if you know what I mean. If reicarnation was brought up - all these 'sexual memories' from ancient life times would come up to the surface of my mind. It wasn't imagination. It was like I was caught up in an 'act of lovemaking' from 'old times.' It was like I was reliving something from yesterday instead of 'yester-year.' I had hinted at the reaction at the time because I would tell people,

"Your grossing me out. Stop it."

It was not a 'fantasy' as much as it was like being caught up in a pornographic flick and being immersed into that I had no control over. I would be reliving a past life 'sexual experience.' I was a teenager - and the idea of being in the middle of an act with a old woman with missing teeth and stinking breath - was NOT my idea of an ideal fantasy. It would be gross and I was afraid of getting some kind of 'kink' implanted in my mind that I was going to chase after due to the past life memory.

I only shared this with one other friend and swore him to secrecy. I told him,

"Them ghosts of my past are haunting me now - more so than every before in my life. What they was turned on to - was their thing and I don't want it to be my thing. They had their turn. Now it is mine. I don't want them chasing after their turn on's through me. It is time to put them dirty minded ghosts to rest and let them sleep in peace."

It was confusing for the sake of my own identity. I was horrified by it as a teenager and it was the motivating factor that led my mind to 'desire' forgetfulness. Of course, I am laughing myself silly now remembering that stage in my young life.

I thought this was an interesting aspect to 'past life' recall. It came to scare the 'crap' out of me during my teen years. The way people spoke about reincarnations made me believe there we actual 'ghosts' haunting me inside and I 'theorized' (*falsely) they were trying take over my young body to go chasing after sex. The whole idea of it 'creeped me' out enough to bury the memories at the age of 18.

Sincerely,

My parents told me the truth about Santa when I was about 4. It was no big deal to me. It was like I somehow already knew the truth. (Maybe PL memory?)

However, I really envy you being able to share past life memories with your 12 year old peers. That blows my mind.

My memories of that are clear on some parts and vague on others. I can't recall others telling me direct memories of who or what they were in a past life. At one point, I had a sibling 'make up' a past life memory - and presented it to me as truth. When I accepted it was real - she pulled the carpet out from underneath me and told me she had fouled me in an effort to show me how easy it was to make us such 'ridiculous' lies to get attention.

I had trusted my friend who said no harm or foul play was going to come of it. I felt that everyone was trying to 'set me' up and be 'witnesses' for my parents to get me in trouble for talking about it at school. I was the new kid in school and as far as my mind was concerned - they could have all been in on an elaborate joke against me. I mean, that was sort of my attitude. My new friend was a part of a class that had been together since kindergarten. I trusted him but didn't know enough to trust the rest of my classmates. Since I was the new kid - the new friend (whom I had spontaneous past life memories with) was the one bringing the other classmates up to me and introducing me to them - and saying ''He's cool about it. I done talk to him. It is our little secret." (Or in the case of the girls - it would be a she involved.)

Of course, on my parents behalf - I had been talking about reincarnation as a fact since I was toddler and learning to talk. Their concern was legitimate for the times. There were religious minds among the neighbors that could and would blow it up out of proportion and look at such talk as 'talk of the devil.' My Mom made it clear from early on that the Church burned people at the stake for going against them. Of course, they didn't burn people at the stake in the 60's but she felt they had ways to put pressure on people to make their lives a 'living hell.' My parents just didn't want 'noisy neighbors involved trying to tell them how to run our family business calling us 'anti-christs' because we spoke about reincarnation in the privacy of our home.'

It was a small world to us back then. My classmate (past life friend) made a big deal out of it and thought we owed it to ourselves and our fellow classmates to shed a positive light on it. I have no idea what he spoke to them about in private before they spoke to me. He was looked at as a leader among them - so - they looked up to him. I thought it was 'akin' to stirring up a hornets nest and I was going to be the one who got 'stung' in the end. So, I feel that your expression of 'blowing your mind' was exactly what happened. I couldn't believe how sincere and honest they had been with me during that time. I felt - I felt so alone prior to this experience and afterwards - I didn't feel so alone any more.

There was one thing a classmate said to me and it stayed with me for many years to come. I eventually forgot where the advise came from but it is displays a sense of profound wisdom coming from a 12 year old kid. He told me that he felt we inherited a fear from our parents that was passed on from generation to generation. He felt the role of each generation was to chip away at that inheritance of fear and replace it with courage. He felt the role we were facing together - was a quest to find the man hidden inside of us and to find the courage to stand our own ground for what we believed in. He told me this and said it was easier for him to understand why there was a 'man' hidden inside of him because somewhere in the past - he had been a man and wanted to come back to be a man again - to chip away at that 'inheritance of fear' again.

I think if we train our ears right - we can learn a lot from young kids.

Mine, too
Hmmm, I have been reflecting back on the event and I feel I take it for granted. A year later in Junior High, I was talking with one of the cheerleaders - and she brought up the 'meeting' from 6th grade. I thought it was in the past and forgotten. She described it as the day a 'meteorite' hit the schoolyard - and how it had an impact on people and minds all around. She said that day was still being talked about in gossip at the grade school, our junior and the high school. I was too busy trying to figure out the impact it had on me to pay attention what effect it had on others.

To explain.... I was the new kid in school. It was my 8th school transfer in 6 years. I was always the new kid due to my medical condition. Moving to find new doctors and because all the Doctors were telling my parents my heart was too weak to support my body through puberty. We were moving to live close to our relatives in case the doctors were right. My family wanted to have quality time with me before I 'kicked the bucket.'

What I recall of being the new kid - was the long phase of being sort of the outcast. Your a stranger and looked at with suspicion - so - you have to prove yourself. Usually, the ones who extend their hand to you are the geeks. In grade school, you always the kid with 'buggers' hanging out his nose - or - the kid who spells because he is still wetting the bed. We had moved close to my grandparents over the Christmas holidays. It was the first day of class after the holidays and I was dreading being an 'outcast' again and hoping the 'bedwetter' in this new school didn't smell so bad - until I was able to find my niche and fit into the normal crowd. I was trying to be on my best behavior. The bell rang for us to go to the next class. There were four classes right together and we had to walk in a line from one room to the next. In the hallway - I passed by this one classmate and we both stopped dead in our tracks and our mouths feel open. We were frozen. The line just moved around us and everyone passing by looked at us. I felt like I was frozen in place like a statute for a million years. I had an idea of things go on around me - but I couldn't move a muscle to get back in line. We both stood their starring at one another as every passed by and got a good look at us. It was like the both of us were on parade. This started some chatter and two teachers came to the hallway and they were amazed at what they saw as well. I had the teachers tell me later that there was a 'warmth' and glow' radiating out from our eyes - as if a lamp was shinning out of them. After what seemed like an eternity - it was just me and him standing in the hallway with the two teachers standing at the door. Me and him shook our heads in an effort to snap back to reality. I don't know that anyone said anything during that time. The word the 'cheerleader' used was 'special.' She said everyone in our class felt the glow of that 'special' something that had happened right before their eyes.

Some of the normal students in class started asking me, 'what was that about?" I was to busy trying to figure it out myself and didn't have answer them. Of course, someone teased about it being 'love at first sight.' I heard another student say, "Be careful. You know who your dealing with. You don't want him to hear you said something like that."

The other guy (Mark) was the alfha male of our class and the school. He was from an influential family in the community, good looking, smart and very well respected among his peers. He was the most popular and influential kid in school and - (I learned later) not someone you wanted to make an enemy with because of the powerful position his family had in the community.

At recess - we were like two magnets. He walked straight up to me and shook my hand and we started talking in private - yet - in front of the whole class on the playground. It wasn't but a matter of minutes until we started having spontaneous recall of a past life we had shared. I felt like the world stood still while we talked because a 100 years of information came out of us and there was no doubt of who we were to one another in the past. When we 'recalled' we had 'pre-birth' memories of promising each other a reunion in this life time - at that very moment as it had happened - we were overcome with emotion and tears were streaming down our cheeks. During the heat of the moment - we hugged and embraced one another like the long lost old friends our souls were to one another.

When recess was over and we walked back to the school - we walked shoulder to shoulder with our arms around each others neck. Two of the teachers that had witnessed said they felt it was a genuine and sincere show of emotion the evoked curiosity in the minds of our peers.

On the way back to the school together - I suggested we come up with a cover story. Since I had spent my summers in the area at my Grandparents - I felt it was best to say we had met at the river or lake near by and had spent time getting to know one another in this life - rather than a past life because I didn't feel our classmates were going to believe it. I knew enough to know that I was going to be swamped with questions about it. He is the one who suggested we stick to the truth and put it out there.

If he and I would have had a 'private' meeting away from the prying eyes of our classmates - the subject probably would have never came up. I suggested this to the cheerleader a year later and stated I regretted our 'relationship' being on public display. She said it was one of the greatest experiences of her grade school years and she felt she learned more from bearing witness to that event - than all her school years combined. I asked her why and she said it was a lesson about life rather than the four R's.

But - if it hadn't been for that very public display - I don't think the subject of reincarnation would have been a topic of concern for my classmates in 6th and 7th grades.

The problem was - it didn't happen once. It happened twice in a week's time. The second time was with a student who had been 'out sick' for the first week I started classes. I met him off the 'school yard' in the front yard of his house. It was like lightening striking twice for me.

I hadn't wanted to share any of the intimate details about our past life together and thought it best to sweep it under the carpet out of sight of others.

Of course - everyone was coming up to me and asking questions and I would ask them to talk to "Mark" first since they had known one another since kindergarten. I don't know how Mark put it to them but - when they came back to me to get my side of the story - they already had the 'idea of reincarnation' planted in their minds.

The thing I recall about that period - is talking to Mark and telling him how I felt my family's prayer about it because they had constantly told me they wished I could walk in their shoes and see and hear it as they did. They would always say they didn't know to believe me when I told them about my past life memories. I told Mark,

"I am telling I now know how they feel because - I didn't know enough to believe anyone who told me their story. I know enough to believe you. You know enough to believe me - but how do you take anyone else seriously?"

My parents had been concerned that if you plant the idea in young children heads (my siblings and cousins) then - their imagination would run wild and rampant creating flights of fancy. That was one of the reasons I wasn't supposed to talk about it at school. My parents were concerned that other parents would be calling them up complaining about the 'wild imagination' I had stirred up by telling my own story.

I told Mark - I thought we may have created a 'fad' or 'craze' and in order to keep up - I felt some of them were making up stories to keep up with everyone else. I didn't know. Not everyone told me stories about past lives. Most of it was just positive support based on their own 'inner feelings' and 'thoughts' they had when they were younger. Only one girl every made a lasting impression on me due to the emotional response when I asked certain questions. I told Mark, I felt she was genuine and the 'real mccoy' because she was over come with emotions I could identify with.

But this experience was the foundation for me in later years that led me to believe - it was best not to talk about it too openly with some because of the 'imagination' process. I felt 'testimony' and 'words' were not enough - and you had to have something people could grasp - such as the 'meeting' that took place where people had sight of something real beyond words.

I never told my parents what happened on the schoolyard - but I do recall pointing at my shoes once and kicking them off and saying - "I finally know them sores you was talking about I would come to have if I ever walked a mile in your shoes - just so you know. Don't ask me no questions."

I can also recall telling Mark that it was no accident that the classmates that witnessed our reunion had witnessed it. Just as we (*our spirits) had arranged for us to meet on the schoolyard that day - I felt that everyone who was there had a hand (in spirit) in arranging their presence as witnesses to the event.

It is only now that I look back on it in hindsight - that I have come to agree with what the cheerleader told me. It was pretty spectacular to be a part of.

Sincerely,

DKing

It is very interesting that this happened once you moved back to be near your grandparents ... the two were part of your soul family and were at the ancestral home area.

If you are comfortable with sharing I would love to hear about the past life you two shared and of the incident and surrounding information on the second child.

DKing, you always fascinate me. Thank you for teaching me so much on so many levels. :)

I think some of the students on the playground were probably members of your "soul group".
This incident happened during the period when I was having many 'near-death' and 'out of body' experiences due to my medical condition. For my family and I - this was routine. The Doctors had told them I had one foot in the grave - so any mention of it was agony for them. We tried to pretend it all away. My family wanted me to find 'peers' to talk to about my 'mystical flights' to the other side. This was in line with what the 'spiritual guides' on the other side were telling me. I had to have 'physical and verbal' conversations as markers to get back to the 'memories' of the spiritual knowledge. I don't have a lot of memories where "Marc" and I spoke about the 'near-death's' all that much. It was the second 'soul mate' encounter who opened up the door for mystical conversations. I had metaphorical expression which dealt with a type of 'clan' or what I called as 'neighborhoods.'

Years later, (after my 1978 NDE) I picked up on the thread of this dialogue and spoke to some friends about it - and when I described the 'clan' process - one of them mentioned something about 'soul cluster' or groups they had read about in a 'new-age' type book.

The incident that happened in 1972 and the incident in 1989 were similar. (In fact, I mentioned this to Marc as well as the other soul mate.) Marc was the 'spiritual twin' of the funny valentine. I knew this as a fact and was surprised when Marc didn't have access to the same information I did.

So - the similar feeling I got in the airport in 1989 and the feeling I got in 1972 was there was a 'grouping' type of arrangement according to a 'spiritual lesson' involved. I got to peek above the surface and the two incidents stand out - because of the dramatic occurrence involved - but - I didn't get the impression that this was unusual and unique to the experience itself. I felt this type of 'grouping' goes on every day. I used a 'school of fish' in both incidents. How 'one fish' sort of gets the 'whole pack' to change directions and go with a 'flow' that is in harmony with the whole group. Sort of like a 'group mentality' we were all attached to in the 'undertow' that is usually hidden from sight. Our spirits were working in a harmonious way (like a school of fish) hidden from sight from the 'normal mind.'

I did make a reference to the 'second' 'soul mate' that there were many in my class that we had shared 'past lives' with from a distance. Meaning, I didn't get very close to them in that past life and share any type of intimate connection with, but we did have a 'distant' past life association. I never made any mention to any of them (the group of 1972 or 1989) being a part of my personal 'cluster' from home. I did have access to that sort of understanding both times and never drew any line of connection to them.

Sincerely,

If you are comfortable with sharing I would love to hear about the past life you two shared and of the incident and surrounding information on the second child.
When we discussed it that first day - it was minor details about various situations we had been in together. I can remember there was an incident that highly significant while we were standing at a fence. I got him to describe his memory of it - the description of it matched mine - but - his point of view was different. I told him, "You always had a funny way of looking at things. You haven't changed a bit. I don't remember it being about that. This was what it was about from my point of view." It was strange that we had a 'difference of opinion' about something in the past life - and it carried over to this life. That is where we left it. We knew, without a doubt - that we were here together again to settle that 'difference of opinion' and never discussed the full details of the 'past life.' Because we never discussed it out loud - I don't have access to the details like I did when I was 12 years old.

The 'second' reunion happened within a week. I walked to the store on an errand - and he was out in the yard of his house. It hit me and I felt it hit him. I was still trying to recover from the first incident and was able to 'tone' it down some. We didn't encounter each other face to face for another couple of weeks. If I remember correctly, he had been suspended from school for fighting. His Grandfather had died and he had intentionally got into a fight at school to get expelled because of his grief. I was introduced to him by the 'spirit of his Grandfather.' I had met his Grandfather on the other side during one of my 'near-deaths' and his Grandfather asked me to look after him. I was given a more mild approach. I was aware of our 'past lives' together. When I finally spoke to him, I was waiting for him to express his knowledge or memory of our past life together - but he was in denial of it. He later told me that he didn't like talking about it - because it went against his religion and he didn't want that 'memory' to flood his mind with ideas and have to go against his religion. I do recall telling him that I could 'refresh' his memory and tell him everything about his past life, including name, height, weight and every circumstance he had encountered when he wore the clothes of an 'older man.' He refused to allow me to say the details out loud. I knew the 'memories' were like 'vapors.' If i didn't capture them and put them into words - then the vaporous 'recall' was going to disappear. I was like a window of opportunity that was going to pass. I feel his response shaped and molded my attitude for many years to come - up to this day. He said he felt it was a private matter between him and God - and discussing it with me would interfere with the understanding he felt he had received from his own personal communique from God. He felt it was a highly personal matter and not to be discussed outloud with anyone - including someone who could confirm it such as me.

He acknowledge the fact that the first day we met - his mind was flooded with 'memories' from what could only be described as from a past life - but - he contemplated the memory in private and refused to acknowledge it as real or unreal. He felt if I had my own memory of it - then - he didn't need to confirm it any more than he felt God had already done for me. He felt my mind was more prepared to deal with that sort of knowledge than his was. His attitude was 'that was then, this is now.'

Our whole affair was caught up in 'proving' that the 'spirit of his Grandfather' had given me a message to pass on to him. Proving that to him helped paved the way for his understanding that him and his Grandfather had shared past lives together in the past - and were promised to share more in the future.

I met a 'third' student when I transferred to Junior High - and we both 'knew' we had shared past lives together and I took the lead from the other two and quickly buried any details of who, what, when or where - and tried to focus on the meaning of the 'here and now' contact.

Prior to this - dealing with 'reincarnation' memories and details with my family - I was never trying to prove or tell people anything to get them to believe me - as much as I was trying to learn how to 'stop' it or control it. I felt there was a 'hidden switch' inside that 'illuminated' these memories as it did - and I wanted to be 'in the dark' as much as every one else claimed to be. I was constantly being 'emotionally and psychologically' traumatized by the memories. I was a child and there were 'adult' memories involving 'death and bloodshed.' I couldn't sort through them and pick out the 'good' from the bad without encountering the 'nightmarish' details.

I felt they came into my life to help teach me how to have some sort of 'mental' control of the flow of the memories and to keep them from traumatizing me the way they did. For me, it wasn't about trying to 'increase' the flow of memories - as much as it was to 'decrease' the flow. The first rule of thumb they gave me was 'not to talk about it that much.'

Now - it is strange that at my age and with enough distance between me and the trauma - I am naturally curious myself. What secrets did we uncover only to keep them hidden and secret from view.

The 'intimate' details were never all that important to the three of us as much as it was 'trying' to cope with it and keep it at 'bay' enough to go on with our current lives. We were kids and trying to cope with growing up in the world with all the problems that brings on it's own. My impression is - we didn't want to add any more baggage to the burden of weight we were already carrying.

Sincerely,

DKing

I just recalled something of a parable the 'second friend' (Ric) told me. He was trying to express his feelings about what he had 'caught' a glimpse of in his own recall.

It told me it was like a 'tiger' in a cage. He said it was nice to view a tiger in a cage with the safely of the 'bars' keeping you from it's claws, but - if you thought it would be nice to open up the cage and go inside to pet the tiger - you were like to get clawed and tore up. He said that is how he felt about his 'past life' memories. They had to be admired from a close distance and you had to know enough it was wild and would chase you around the rest of your life if you let it out that the safety of the confine it was limited to.

I felt it was too late for me. I had opened that 'dang cage' and that 'tiger' was chasing me around. My friend felt it wasn't right for me to ask him to open that cage for himself - just to have someone I could relate to and experiencing the same 'turmoil' I was going through to have an 'understanding' of my plight with it.

So we acknowledge that he had 'hidden memories' of a past life we had shared together - but to keep that 'tiger' locked up safely - he would never discuss the details of it with me.

Sincerely,

DKing

The Process....

I don't think I have ever tried to 'go-back' and recall the exact process of our 'recalling past lives' together. We had a way of using metaphors to try and capture into in verbal expression, but told one another it was totally beyond any words we knew of at that time.

When we approached one another on the playground and shook hands - it was like an energy flowed from hand to hand - similar to when you get a 'shock' from walking across a carpet. It didn't hurt. In fact, it was very pleasant. When we touched each other - it was like a light came on. When we let go of each other's hands - it sort of diminished. This lead him to reach up and shake not only my right hand, but my left hand as well. We were talking fast during this - asking each other where we knew one another from - because we were sure we knew each other from some where. My mind was racing backwards trying to scan the surface of my memories and that is when it happened to both of us. We suddenly passed a barrier and crashed into a zone of 'pre-birth' memories.

Later, he and I tried to look for a metaphorical expression of what that had been like for each of us. We came up with a piece of plywood and placed it in the middle of us where one eye was looking in one direction and the other eye was looking in the opposite direction. One eye was on each other as 12 year old's standing in on a playground and the other was looking at each other as spirits prior to being born into the world. As spirits - we didn't think or 'know' in the same language of the world that he and I though and knew in - as 12 year olds. It was a 'different mind' of understanding and we had been 'planning' this moment prior to our birth - and what sort of revelations would be shared between us the moment we touched one another. It was like a 'box of cracker' jacks had been hidden inside of us - waiting for that moment to pull out the same prize together. We came to call it a 'crack box' revelation for that reason.

Then our 'other minds' moved toward something 'it' (our spirits) knew of - and we were being 'instructed' on. Knowledge and information that was normally hidden behind some sort of veil.

I described it like a book. He didn't like the 'book' parable because it was nothing like a worldly book. To us, it was like a container and when you looked at it - you knew it contained a story. A story with a beginning, middle and end ... or 'birth, life and death. The 'life' in that container - we knew automatically, was a life a part of us had been in - in another body.

I was familiar with the past life understanding prior to this. What I wasn't familiar with - was the particular past life. I had two I had focused on with my conversations with my parents. I was aware there were others but my parents pleaded with me not to dig up any more than I already had.

Our focus or attention went to the 'beginning' of this container and started at the 'birth' and zoomed at what seemed like a 1000 miles an hour through every single detail. That is why I used a book - because it was like the pages were being flipped to fast to really read or understand the story involved. At one point - it stopped and both of us found ourselves starring back at each other through another body and another time. It was as if we were experiencing both moments at the same time through this partition. It was actual seconds and minutes were we 're-lived' this situation again.

We could talk to one another on the 12 year old side and discuss what we were seeing and feeling - together. We were both looking at the same scene. Neither of us understood the words being spoken because it wasn't in English. It was like watching a movie together and being able to talk about what was on the screen. "What did you say?" "Shhh, I can't hear."

I didn't understand the actual words being said - but I had an intuition of what it was about. It was like it was being 'translated' to us in an inner way. He shouted out to me to describe the scene I had sight of so he could compare it to the scene he had sight of. I couldn't turn my head in the other body to look around but I could look out of the corner of that eye and describe the field, trees and some type of fence we were standing next to. "Do you see the fence?" "Yes." "How tall is it to you?" When he put his 12 year hand up to a certain height - it matched exactly the same height on the other side of the partition. He asked me to put my hand up to measure it and where my hand was on this side of the partition matched what he saw on the other side of the partition. This when on for minutes before being 'zoomed' though the rest of the 'story' and the 'death' that took place before going back to us standing 'half way' in spirit and 'half way' in the physical world as 12 year olds.

I could describe what he looked like in that past life - but he couldn't describe himself. We both felt that if we could have commissioned a sketch artist - we could have had an accurate photographic image of one of our past lives.

We joked about a 'secret' decoder ring. He was asking me questions about all the missing details and I was asking him questions. We felt like the rest had been 'coded' in some sort of 'secret code' and neither one of us had been wearing our 'secret decoder ring.'

What we understood was filtered though the mindset of a couple of 12 year olds - and it was very limited. We felt we had both been in our early 20's or late teens. We called the style of clothes we wore 'frontiersmen.' Neither one of us had ever seen anything like it before and had no reference to any sort of 'time period.' We just called it "back in the old days."

Somewhere between us - there was a promise in place. A promise we felt to God as well as to one another. It was an 'eternal pledge' of sorts that time, or death could not and would not break. That is why we were overcome with emotion. A part of that promise was being fulfilled to those 'two guys' though us. It was as if those two old 'guys' came alive in us and the joy was their joy - knowing that God had not forsaken their pledge and promise to one another.

I made my 'new friend' swear a vow to never talk to my parents about what had happened between us. I told him, "If they find out I went dug up another ghost to haunt me from the past - they are going to have another cow about it. We done have a small herd of their cows to tend to - as it is." He wanted to share it with his parents and I told him I had no problem with it. I told him - that was on him. He felt I did need someone to talk to - and that is when the idea of sharing it with our peers came up.

I did get to sit down with his parents and discuss all the details with them while we were together. They too wanted to discuss it with my parents and I refused to bring them into it. My parents had given me permission to discuss it with the 'right minds' if I felt God's hand was in play. It was his parents who brought up the word 'soul mates.' (A couple of years later, the subject did come up again and my Dad said he went and talked to his parents to get their side of the story.)

We felt we were only shown what we needed to know - and there was no doubt in our minds that God had a hand in it while our 'minds' were peaking through that 'invisible partition.' We felt God had blessed us with a 'great friendship' and felt it was a 'gift from beyond.'

Sincerely,

DKing

Two years later, when I was 14 my Dad wanted to move us back to our hometown. His reasoning was the Doctors dire predictions. He felt a man would want to be buried in his hometown. He also wanted me to spend time with my other Grandmother due to a promise he had given her that she would be near me when the end came. Everyone but my parents knew about the 'love affair' or 'thing' that was between my 'soul mate' and I. Everyone except my parents. They hit the roof when they found out about it and put me through the 'Spanish Inquisition' again about 'reincarnation.' My Dad later told me that during that period they were constantly trying to 'bury it under the carpet' and ignore it. He said that when the ignored it - it would come back 10 times as strong the next time we went through a wave. He said it was time for him and my Mom to take the bull by the horns and met it head on.

In the past, I felt my parents were like 'wolves' on a feeding frenzy - always trying to make a 'liar' out of me when it came to any testimony about reincarnation. No matter what I told them, it seemed they were always trying to force a 'glass slipper' onto a foot it didn't belong and breaking the 'slipper' in the process and blaming me for it getting broken. Soul mates became the topic of 'concern' in my family in 1974. I had conversations about it with my parents and my Grandparents. I just called them 'dates.' I had a 'date with destiny' with several other 'spiritual friends' from a past life and we had plans already laid out for us - for the sake of our souls. That is the period when my parents felt 'God's hand' was in play in a mysterious way.

I had to tell my parents the next time a 'soul mate' entered my life - so they could evaluate the situation for themselves and be assured that 'God's hand' was indeed in play in some sort of mysterious way. I never got the Spanish Inquisition after that. My parents became curious observers in a way.

It happened again the week we moved into a new house in a new neighborhood back in my hometown. It was what I called the 'bold' meeting because - neither he or I had any choice about what was revealed to us in our 'initial meeting' that made it similar to the first one. (The other two were mild compared to this type of meeting.) He wanted to tell his parents about it - and I reluctantly agreed because I promised my parents I wouldn't keep them in the dark if it happened again.

We were left alone with it - and no one ever interfered with their 'disbelief' or arguments for the sake of religion. My Dad told me that him and my Mom went out of their way to fill in my new 'soul mates' parents on what had happened in my own life prior to this and how they wanted to keep a watchful eye on it. My parents went off for a weekend and I was left alone. My Dad later told me that he went in search for his own past life history. He said he had grown up with a vivid memory of dying in a fight with Indians. He felt he knew the spot where he had died in a past life and visited it with a great deal of emotional relief. My Mom was not as convinced as my Dad.

It was our parents, who put the rumor out that we felt we were 'reincarnated' from a past life. I think it was due to the fact that we wouldn't talk to them about the 'details.' He and I came up with 'rule's' we lived by and outlined what we felt was appropriate to share with others and what was inappropriate. We would never discuss anything with anyone to satisfy their curiosity. To us, that was absolutely taboo to do so. What knowledge we had - we felt was sacred and from God. If someone 'cursed' that - or criticize that in any way - we felt it was a slap in God's face. I think our parents put the rumor out there to see if others (or age) could pry out the information we would deny them. All the way up to the age of 17, I was approached by classmates, co-workers neighbors and friends my age inquiring about my past lives.

I recall introducing my Mom to a co-worker whom I wanted to hang out with. I could never spend any time with friends until my Mom met and grilled them on their intentions. When we were in the car alone driving to the lake - he asked me, "So what is this thing about past lives. Do you remember your past lives?" I asked him why he asked me that and he told me the idea had been planted in his head from my Mom. I had sworn out a promise to my Mom in God's name. I would never again discuss the subject of 'reincarnation' again in a direct manner with her. My Mom and I could talk about 'soul mates' with the underlining understanding that it meant I had found someone who had knowledge of their past life with me - as much as I did. If they wanted to discuss reincarnation with that 'soul mate' - that was on them.

From the time I was 12 to the time I was 17 - reincarnation was a 'fact of life' for me - and I had room to talk to many of my peers about their opinions and beliefs regarding the subject. Going back to what the 'cheerleader' (she was in her uniform that day) had said to me - that moment in 6th grade was like a 'invisible meteorite' that struck from heaven and the impact of it rippled though my childhood and was felt by many of my peers up to the age of 18. Of course, at the age of 18, I slammed that door shut and locked it behind me when I stepped through the doors of adulthood.

That didn't stop people from asking me about 'reincarnation' and my past lives in my hometown - or the other town I had been in when the meteorite struck. When I told people I had no worldly idea what they were talking about - I wasn't joking. I had wiped the slate clean and started over. Reincarnation (and probing questions) had became a very big 'sore thumb' to me. I wanted to know what it was like to be totally 'deaf, dumb and blind' to past lives.

I couldn't escape the 'theme' but I did escape any conscious knowledge or understanding about any of the past lives I had sight of as a child and had given testimony to. The memories didn't come back to me until the year 1999 and it totally blew my adult mind away. (A part of me was like, 'o brother - not this again.)

I recall telling my friend I felt it was like a 'hornets' nest and when ever the subject came up - I was sure to get 'stung' by the 'Spanish Inquisition' before it was over with.

Writing and sharing here on the board - I feel - is a way to nurse those 'long ago' forgotten 'stings' and extract the poison I felt was injected into me though other's disbelief, criticism and skepticism. I always felt I was speaking the truth - and people hated truth so much they were 'hurting' me and trying to constantly make a 'liar' out of me. I still find myself working through the resentments I picked up in childhood from that.

I thank everyone for alwaying me to work through that here and sharing the details in an effort to help me heal from my own 'pain' often associated from the experiences.

Sincerely,

DKing

I am still trying to piece together the missing pieces and draw the connection between what happened in childhood - and what happened later on in adult life - when it comes to my direct experiences with reincarnation.

The central theme of any of my experiences was the 'twin aspect.' Going back to childhood - the subject of reincarnation couldn't come up where I didn't mention something about the 'twin.' I felt my 'twin' knew as much about it as I did. I wouldn't be alone in that regard. (This was in reference to my parents telling me it wasn't normal and that no one else 'dwelled' on this subject (as a child) as much as I did.) Everyone has a purpose for being here and I knew - this was part and parcel of my purpose.

When I turned 18 - I buried everything. I had a 'soul mate' whom I called my best friend at the time and he could still recall the first day we met - and all the revelations that had came us about our past lives together. I had no memory of it what so ever. He was hurt by this and said it made him feel alone and it sort of made it less real to his mind. He felt bound to the rules he and I had established as children and if I didn't know it as he knew it - then he couldn't talk to me about the intimate details he had sight of.

I journeyed away from my hometown at the age of 18 and in that journey - I crossed paths with his own 'spiritual twin.' I wrote about it on my blog at "The Twin Aspect." From 1972 to 1974 - I met six 'soul mates' whom I had shared past life memories with. From 1977 to 1989 = I met everyone of their 'twins' face to face as well as my own 'twin.'

I recall my parents trying to tell me, "Your only supposed to have ONE soul mate. NOT many." I replied by telling them,

"Tell that to God will you - and see where that get's you. God is telling me something totally different from you. Am I supposed to listen to you - or - to God?"

I was 14 years old when I said that to my parents. I didn't know what they had in mind as a 'soul mate' or how the world defined it to itself. I just knew my life had a 'blueprint' design and part of that design was crossing paths with 'spirits' from previous lives whom I had shared some sort of love with. I refereed to it more as a 'teacher/student' relationship. They were on their way to me to be my teacher as much as I was on my way to them to be their teacher. Even at the age of 14, I had 'inner' or mystical understanding that there was a 'dual' effect in play because I was supposed to be meeting 'both' of them - or the 'twins' to one another.

After writing the blog - memories of my conversations with the 'first' encounter I had at the age of 12 surfaced again - and their was a 'disappointment' expressed because he wasn't the one I was longing for inside. I was looking for his 'twin' more so than him. He was scratching his head confused.

"When did you see all that? I don't remember seeing all that?"

To me (as a child) I described the 'yin-yang' (divine energy) effect of the meetings that were to take place. I would 'pour' love into one side of the 'soul' through the twin - and I wouldn't feel the full force of it being returned to me until I met their 'twin.' I wasn't very diplomatic about this when I had my first encounter. Instead of focusing my attention on him - I was trying to get him to give me directions to where I could find his 'twin' - or - to get him to pass on a message to his twin on my behalf. It boggled my mind that he didn't know anything about it.

His soul was the 'first' as well as the last. I had to get the lessons from all the others before I was prepared to deal with the 'energy' flow that was waiting for me to receive on the other side of that 'yin-yang' effect when I met the 'funny valentine.' I had spoke about this many times prior to be puberty and it wasn't sexualized in their minds - because I walked with that childlike innocence. When my parents tried to sexualize my testimony - I told them,

"I am not looking for lovers for the sake of my flesh and bone. I am looking for lovers for the sake of my soul. I wish you would stop trying to throw me in the gutter for that."

I just wanted to add the link to the 'meeting' that took place between 'two twins' because I feel it is tied into what I have shared here on this thread. (The Twin Aspect.)

Sincerely,

DKing

It seems to me like this lifetime you are here to teach many about reincarnation and in many instances people were put in your path to bring about that.

Somehow your parents tried to stop you on your journey many times ... I don't know why but it seems it was part of lessons for this lifetime?

I applaud you for being brave and sharing your experiences, especially long before they were accepted (if they even still are). I have no doubt you have affected many lives and for that I thank you.

You know - I just recalled a 'side' of it - that reflects why my parents were so intimidated by it. My family told me their 'side' of it after I had amnesia and I thought it was too wild to comprehend. My Mom said I started talking about it right when I started talking. She said the 'language' skills evolved over time but they finally grasped what I was talking about when I was 4 or 5.

The example was - I was talking about 'big dogs' that came and hurt me. The word turned into 'great dane's' after awhile. My Mom said that a 'great dane' had came into the yard when I was a toddler - and I of course, was frightened out of my wits. They felt that trauma had caused the 'talk' from imagination. I can recall a time when I was four. (From the house we lived in that year.) I can recall how my mind worked. When I found a 'new set' of words - then I would re-tell the story again hoping they could help me get to the bottom of what 'memory' I had haunting me. That day, I was about to use a new word and a 'spirit' popped out of thin air and 'shussed' me. I thought it was 'Santa Claus' because it had a similar look. Long hair and a beard. Of course, when I was 18, my Mom had the full story after many years. I had always said, 'when I was in a different body - or when I was a grown up.' Or, 'that other time -- you know -- that other time when I lived here.' (The "santa" was actually a 'spirit guide.' One I have had many encoutners with - and the one I visited most often during my NDE's. It was telling me that I was going to scare my parents and they were not ready to deal with my new words yet.)

The story was - I had a memory of being in an ancient type villiage and some sort raid from a Mongolian type army burst upon the scene on horseback - swinging swords and mowing everyone down. I ran to safety but - had to get to my family - and when I stepped out into the path - I was 'slain' by a swordsman on the horse. I kept asking my Dad about it - because I knew that my 'Dad's' spirit had been the swordsman who swung the blade at me and ended my life. It took years for that description to come out of me - and my Mom said it freaked them that the whole time - I had that sort of 'carnage' running through my mind.

When I was 18, my Mom told me that I could be the 'devil' with it. Because they told me it was 'scarying' them. I was a child and every child likes to play the power game with their parents. My Mom said I had them 'hiding the butcher knifes' at night and they would be in the bedroom shaking like leaves with the covers pulled over their heads wondering if I was develop the 'mind' to pick up some sort of 'blood feud' from ancient times.

I don't know what age it was - but my Dad finally took me to the side and said we had to get to the bottom of it and put the 'vision' or 'memory' to rest. He asked why it bothered me so much. I told him,

"My kids Dad. I had kids and that is why I was running when I did. I wanted to get to my kids and protect them. You stopped me from that and I never made it. The last thing on my mind before I left was my kids. The first thing on my mind when I woke up here was my kids. I have to know their okay. I think they are out there somewhere looking for me. I was thinking how in the world are they going to get along with out me. I just need to know if you did that to them to. I just need to know one way or the other. I think they are going to be upset with me for not being there for them."

My Dad had tears in his eyes - of course. I don't think their is a parent in the world who didn't understand that sort of haunting feeling. I told my Dad - I didn't care about him 'taking my life' from me in the past. I had a memory of him and I making up for that on the other side. I just didn't have a memory of every finding out what happened to my kids.

My Dad said he felt that 'God' looked after them and that they would be happy to know that my last thoughts before leaving this world the way I did - was them - and that (if it was true) the thoughts of them had been my constant companion all though my first years in the world again. I told my Dad,

"I just want them to know that I am sorry for going and getting myself killed on them like I did. I was trying to get to them the best I could. You got to me first."

I put that memory to peace afterwards.

I was a devil with it at times. I knew if I wanted to get back at my parents for being (what I thought was too harsh) then I would ask right before bedtime,

"Them butcher knifes in the drawer like their supposed to be. I think I heard myself an intruder the other night and they wasn't there. Is they there tonight - just in case I hear myself an intruder."

My family had a 'great sense of humor' and my Mom was laughing about it when she re-told the story to me at the age of 18. I feel my parents did the best they could with - what they had to work with.

Sincerely,

DKing

ohhh --- I failed to mention that my Dad did apologize and said he was sorry it had happened (if it did happen) as I described. When he did, I was sort of shocked by it. I told him,

"Dad that is not you no more. That is not me no more. Them days is over with and I remember you already apologized to me before we came here. I was just hoping your memory was better than mine and you could tell me what happened to my kids."

That is how it got started for me. Still don't know what happened to the 'spirits' of my loved ones from that lifetime, but feel my Dad told me what I needed to hear. I can recall telling him,

"You done gave me the words my heart has been longing to hear all these years. I just needed to know they ain't been mad at me all this time thinking I wasn't trying my best to find them again. If you is there when I do run into them again, you can tell them I was trying my best to find them."

Parents

When I write and share - I take my mind back to my own point of view to stay true to my perspective at that time. As a child, I did view my parents as my opposition. At my age now - I look back in hindsight as my closest allies. I don't want to paint a picture of them as being in league with some sort of worldly conspiracy to 'suppress' the truth of reincarnation. My parents made it a point (after I was 18) to express they felt they walked through every painful moment with me and tried to cope with the emotional and psychological turmoil I had endured. They told me that time and time again - the situation made them feel hopeless and helpless in an effort to help their child cope with a very big burden.

I look back on it now - and wish I could go back an 'lessen' the pain I know they went through as parents. Jim Tucker and Carroll's books were not on the market back in the 60's - so my parents didn't have access to literature that would have given them insights to know - they were not alone. That there are other parents out there in the world coping with the very same issues trying to help their children the best they can. (I do recall my parents mention something about a book and think they referencing Ian Stevenson - but they told me it was a very hard read and didn't afford them any sort of insight to handle what they felt they were dealing with.) I do recall my Dad stating that if I wanted he could make the calls and put the effort in to getting me to a Doctor whom he felt was an expert in this field and how he might be able to give me a better understanding of what I was going through than they could. That offer came at the wrong time. I didn't want anything do with 'more Doctors' after having to go through the medical tests related to my 'heart condition.' Years later, when I came across a book by Ian Stevenson - I felt he had to be the one my Dad made a reference to. My parents always respected my wishes when it came to the 'medical choices' pertaining to my heart condition. When I refused to take 'pain medication' they would force it one me against my will - which is what the Doctors tried to do. My parents had to go to court over that. People felt that a child didn't have a mature enough mind to make that choice for themselves. I convinced the judge why I didn't want to take the pain medication and he stood on my parents side. (The pain medication was so strong I had to wear a diaper - and I would wet myself. I told the judge my Mom had raised me enough that I could go to the bathroom on my own. I didn't like seeing the tears in my Mom's eyes when she had to change my diaper again.) My Dad felt the Doctors had a hand in taking us to court in an effort to get me 'put up' in a 'study' program to use me as a guinea pig.

I recall the talk my Dad had with me. We sat out in the yard under a tree. He explained something he called 'science and the humanities' and how what I had to say about 'past lives' could work to better humanities understanding of a mystery and get a better grasp on the truth. My Dad gave me all the options he felt were available to us at that time and weighed the good against the bad. I felt my Dad was leaning toward contacting the 'other Doctor' because of the good he felt might come of it. He called it a 'pioneer' study on a university level. I told my Dad that I would take our 'talk' with me the next time I 'left my body' and 'went home' and talk about it with my 'other Dad' there. I did have anther 'near-death' episode and went and came. When I came back I took my Dad to the side and said I had a chance to talk it over with my 'other Dad' there and my mind was made up. I told my Dad that I was told the same thing on the other side. I had to make up my own mind and my 'other Dad' had pointed out things that influenced my decision that my Dad hadn't pointed out to me.

So, in hindsight - it was bad timing and my 'physical medical condition' was a matter of life and death and took priority over everything else. What I was told was, that contacting this Doctor would interfere with the efforts underway to preserve my life here in the world. Every ounce of energy was needed to get me through puberty. The devotion to the study of reincarnation at that time - would have killed me, plain and simple.

I feel this is an example of the love and devotion my parents had toward me as a child - in the fact - they had knowledge of an 'expert' they felt was more qualified to deal with my testimony than they were - and were willing to put the effort into make contact with him on my behalf as well as what my Dad called the 'science and humanities' department.

In 1999, I did contact Ian Stevenson and we exchanged a couple of emails. I think I did it on on 'unconscious' level to prove to myself that the right choice had been made in my past because - I was introduced to a lengthy and time consuming process. That 'time' would have took away my focus as a child and I know I would have been able to survive puberty due to the heart condition.

My parents were conscious enough to know - you had to speak to the right people about this - and not the 'wrong' minds. They felt speaking to the 'right minds' would lead to enlightenment while speaking to the 'wrong' minds would lead to those who did want to suppress it - for what ever reason.

I always had permission to speak about it outside the home - if I was 'positive' they had the 'right' mind for it. They told me,

"Son, you speak to the wrong mind about - it will come back on your family. Next thing you know - hooded men will be burning crosses in our front yard branding this family as outcasts. There are grown men who are out and about in the world claiming they work for God - all the while the while - doing the devils deeds for him."

I don't want to give the impression that my parents were doing the 'devil's deeds' for him. My Mom told me they were playing 'devils advocate' for me - in an effort to prepare me for the fights ahead of me. My Mom once told me,

"If the devil is the one who wants this sort of truth kept from the minds of men - he has been doing a good job of it for years and you ain't no match for him as a small child. Me and your Daddy is trying to look ahead for you to see the fights you got coming to you over this subject and prepare you for them the best we can. If you tell us God is on the side of reincarnation - we are standing on your side. If the devil is a thorn in God's side - what kind of pain can he be to mortal man such as us."

That is the way my Mom put it - to express the political opposition of society on the whole as far as acceptance of reincarnation as a 'fact.'

If I look back and write where they were playing 'devils advocate' to me -- it was done with love and devotion from two loving and caring parents doing the best they could with what they had to work with.

Sincerely,

DKing

Are your parents still living? I congratulate them for trying to do the best they knew how at the time. The only books available on reincarnation in the 1960's were the "Bridey Murphy" case and Dr. Ian Stevenson's research. Dr. Stevenson's books were not written for the public. They were written to silence the criticism from other scientists that he was not using the "scientific method" in his research. Stevenson laid the foundation for people like Carol Bowman today. Carol doesn't have to explain her work. All she has to do is refer skeptics to Stevenson's work. Most of the modern books on reincarnation began coming out in the 1970's. And the tabloid "National Enquirer" was the only newspaper who would carry articles on reincarnation and other paranormal subjects. Things are better today but we still have a long way to go. We need younger people to carry on the work.

My parents have passed away. It would be great to have them to call upon during this time. The focus of the Doctors I did work with - wasn't so much on the metaphysical side as much as it was the 'physical side.' In 1966 - my heart ruptured. There were no witnesses to this other than my testimony - and my Mom stating that I came home from school one day covered in blood from head to toe. She said I was talking and walking like normal and she could find any cuts or bruises on the outside of me. So, she put me in a bathtub to clean the blood off. I started telling a 'wild tale' of being outside my body and having two 'ambulance' drivers show up and 'stitch' something up inside of me. That is when the seizures started and I was taken to the Doctor and passed out in front of them. I was pronounced dead by two physicians. When I coughed back to life a short time later - they started taking me serious. Something was 'broken' inside of me and needed fixed. Through a lengthy process of medical imaging - they pinpointed the long scar on my heart. The physicians were totally dumbfounded. There was no doubt in the minds of people who saw the 'medical image.' It was a true miracle. The problem was - was it 'divine' or 'diabolical?' There were many problems actually.

My first contact with a Doctor was at the ER. He was blind to it. The second Doctor was one recommended to my family from the ER. Then that Doctor was scratching his head. They could find nothing on X-rays. Then - I was lead to a couple of specialists in the 'cardiac' field. Those are the I lost 'vital signs' on and the who pronounced me dead. From there, it is sort of blur because I started seeing Doctors alot. They were constantly sticking, poking and prying and sometimes causes more pain. From 1966 to 1969 - it moved from 'practitioners' to the 'leaders' in the field. (That is how my Dad put it.) What I gathered from his explanation was - they worked in a University level. In 1969, I refused to see them any more. I wouldn't allow myself to be taken to them for any reason after the 'pain medication' incident. They couldn't cure me. They couldn't heal me. They couldn't stop it from happening. What use where they to me. I was learning to deal with it on my own just fine.

They wanted custody of me. My Dad was offered a lump sum of money to sign me over to their care and custody. The afternoon I had the talk with my Dad - it was outlining everything he had been through during those 3 years as well. I asked him what he thought they were after - and he told me they wanted my 'cadaver.' He said I wouldn't be given a proper burial because they would be using my body for the sake of medical science. My family was going to die in a few years because they didn't feel my heart would be able to survive the growth spurt brought on my adolescence. They (Doctors or Professors) had approached me many times at school with all sort of promises of a 'good life.' My Dad said he looked at it like 'Citizen Kane.' He felt he could give me the best years of my young life if I went off with these 'scientist' who wanted to better humanity in some way, but he felt if he deprived me of my normal childhood - I have my own 'personal rosebud' moment upon my own death. That is why my Dad said the decision was mine and mine alone. The lure of the 'Doctor' who dealt in reincarnation as a science was a 'ploy' to get me to consent to my parents handing over legal custody to them.

The 'Doctors' followed me from school to school and town to town until I was 12. They last time they were offering a place in California next to Disneyland - and that I could ride the rides all I wanted - every day. I got them to leave me alone by promising my 'cadaver' to medical science - when I died and not a moment sooner.

I started dealing with University Professors on my own at the age of 13 - and it was more in line with reincarnation since I refused to talk about the 'near-death' experiences with strangers or Doctors after that. Even then - it was very limited and I wouldn't speak about personal details I felt would interfere with my privacy.

When the Doctors came to me - they would stand across the street from my school. I didn't like going through the process of 'dragging' my Mom and Dad along - because they would get upset at their 'dire prediction' that I was going to die as a child. I knew better from my 'near-death experiences.' As I told my Mom, "God told me otherwise. Am I supposed to believe the Doctors, or - am I supposed to believe God?" My parents didn't know enough as who to believe. That was my 'beef' with them. I didn't like them telling my parents something I knew to be false and I didn't like seeing my parents cry about it.

When my Dad first told me about the 'offer' to meet a 'scientist' and Doctor who took reincarnation seriously - he told me it was a carrot on a stick they were offering to get me to consent to the custody change. At the same time my Dad told me that if such a man did indeed exist - he could track him down on his own and the family would make what ever sacrifices needed to make it happen. We had already been traveling around the state trying to contact other specialist's for second opinions.

But like I said, I feel my parents did the best they could with what they had to work with at the time. We were in a very unusual set of circumstances struggling to cope with the whole affair and still trying to be a 'normal family.'

Sincerely,

DKing
