My past life vacation

A few months ago, I wrote that I was going on a vacation in the place I had lived in during a previous life.

I went there because I was eager to know more about that family I was part of and what had happened there concerning me, because it still has its effect.

I learned a lot. I had an appointment with the keeper of the family archive. What a weird encounter. Although I think he didn't trust me at full, I felt some familiarity. Afterwards, when I looked again into some photos of family history, I came to the conclusion he must have been my grandfather back then. We must have known each other long time but we were different, him being very practical. He wasn't gay at that time but some photo details were pointing in that way. So maybe he felt he was, but in that time, 19th century, couldn't reveal that?!

Most of my relatives reincarnated with me into an other country though. I think one of his daughters back then is now my little niece. Her father and mother, that is my cousin and his wife, must have been his grandfather and grandmother. Still following?

There must be some reason while his soul stayed there. He definitely didn't gave me the feeling he believed in reincarnation so I didn't talk about that.
Then I saw the houses my family lived in. It did not feel familiar to me, I didn't have a recollection. I just made a reconstruction based on written family history and what is left behind. For me it was like going into a past I couldn't remember. But very useful and a nice side-purpose for a vacation!

Hi Overseas,

It's interesting to be able to visit a place your past life self once lived. Thanks for sharing.

Although you didn't feel any familiarity while visiting, I'm curious if you had any emotional reactions to being there? Or while looking at the photographs? In my own experience, emotions are a pretty key element.

Hi Ailish,

Before I went there I wondered if I would react emotional on the place. But I didn't. I visited the house and garden where we lived and being in that garden felt really good, but no strong emotions were left. The building is used now for social housing so I haven't been on the inside, maybe the rooms could've had a stronger effect on me.

I lived there for about 20-25 years and must've been happy there. The photo's show a happy family bunch, more than 100 years ago. But I also have no emotional reaction to these pics. I think I've had also another life in between. But if I've had strong emotions there, they would've stayed, I guess.

I still know a person from that time though, but not that place, with whom strong emotions are still felt. Being there and learning history gave me more insight in that.

Hi Ailish (and Overseas) I agree, emotions are key to making or understanding an association with a place. I went to visit what I beleived was my "past life" town and even the home (I had the address).

Emotionally this trip turned out to be real interesting, from about an hour out I started to find myself incredibly sad but yet not in a "depressive" way. Perhaps the best way to describe it, imagine you have just been told really bad news, you are just kind of stunned and slowly reflecting over it all in your mind without showing any outward emotions or even responses. I found this was happening to me all the way until I entered the town. Upon entering I was really quite excited.

The other interesting event was that after I used my GPS to get to the train station, I eventually found myself leaving the station square and quickly entering another square confronted with many choices of streets to take. From the map, I knew the approximate location and certainly the orientation of street, but without looking down at the GPS, I was surprised in that I knew instinctively which street to take.

Without a doubt, the mind is a powerful tool you don’t have to understand anything more than the “placebo effect” to question the above.......I don't know if I question it anymore though.

Also on the topic of emotions, I also had the chance to visit the scene of the accident which ended my past life. I did note something interesting on the way there; I experienced a burning feeling near my stomach. This was certainly not anything indigestion or allergy related, if anything it was a central, very narrow pin pointed yet evident burning feeling.

If you believe in or can follow the concept of “chakras” you will find that the yellow or “Solar plexus” chakra is located in the area of the stomach. It feeds energy into the vital organs of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas and stomach. At an emotional level it governs self worth and personal identity.

Could this be a connection?

Hi Chrissy! Have you checked out the thread on The Heart Centre?

I think you'd find it interesting... ;)

Hi Chrissy,

If I logically go further in what you said about the solar plexus aching at the place your past life ended, it means that feeling your solar plexus there that sharp meant the energy to your vital organs got blocked or stopped then?!

Or maybe your vital organs got directly hurt due to the accident?

It's definitely a hint for me to visit such a place myself as I'm curious to know what a feeling it will give me. And then walk away with a smilie like :) this time I survived the place
