My son is acting strangely

This could just be coincidence, but I am not sure. The last time I started looking into past lives (June) my son started acting strangely. I was uncomfortable too, so I dropped it and forgot about it until this past weekend. Since the day I started looking into it again my son hasn't been sleeping normally, and has acted jumpy and clingy. Last night he woke screaming a couple of times. My husband and I were up with him very late last night. He has been wanting me to hold him more than usual and seems scared to be anywhere that I am not either within reach or sight. He is usually a very independent baby and will usually sleep from 10pm until 6:30am in his crib (has been doing this since 8 months). This is all so out of character for him. I don't think I have been acting differently, so how does he know? What could be causing this? He is 14 months by the way.

Hi whitelight,

Every child is vastly different, so I don’t think there’s a way to gauge specifically if your pl research has anything to do with your son’s reaction. You mentioned you were uncomfortable – and perhaps on some level he was picking up on that. Children are very intuitive and pick up easily on their parents’ emotions.

He’s a little young to be able to verbalize anything specific – so if I would recommend starting a journal for him. Record things (“triggers”) that make him act out of character – or things you feel could possibly be pl related within his play etc. Then, when he is old enough, he may be able to tell you something to add to the journal ;)

It could be any number of things causing this – kids go through so many “phases.” I wouldn’t worry too much. One thing you can do is to talk/whisper softly to him while he is sleeping. Reassure him that this is a new lifetime – let him know he is safe and loved and he has a new family now; whatever happened to him is in the past. It seems to work quite well with the wee ones ;)

Good luck and keep us posted,

Ailish

Hi whitelight,

It has been suggested elsewhere here in the forum that a blue light in the infant's bedroom at night has a very calming affect, maybe you could try that if your son continues to have restless nights - ;)

Hi, whitelight!

I wish you the best as you research pl's. I hope it will be a great experience!

It is so interesting that you posted this. I had a coworker today who was up all night with a daughter of a similar age, showing similar behavior, very clingy to "mom".

I loved Aili's idea about whispering reassurances while baby's asleep - it can enter the subconscious and not bring up any negativity- just beautiful.

I've never heard of the blue light- I will have to check that out! I've heard of using lavender aromatherapy products specifically created to be safe for baby's skin can be very helpful for babies with anxiety or stress symptoms.

Please update us as you can! :)

I know it's not PL-related, but my younger son became very fussy and clingy and waking up crying when he was teething.
He teethes like a champ. I realise that with babies, it is hard to know what the problem is. It is just strange that he did similar things last time.

It may or may not be a coincidence WhiteLight. It's hard to know for sure, but either way, the remedy is the same, lots of patience and plenty of cuddles. I am sure he will pull through fine and it will all blow over in a while (only to be replaced by some other drama probably). :)

Little kids are very prone to ear infections and it makes them very whingey, but you would not know he had one unless you got him looked at by a doctor. Has he recently had a cold? My son had an ear infection and I did not pick it up for ages.

Personally I often find that my 'past life memory transceiver' whatever-you-call-it, seems to arc up a bit when I am in a state of emotional stress about something for some weird reason. Perhaps it is because a present life situation is ringing my bells, or ... who knows.

Are you stressed about something (apart from the baby)? Could it be past life related?

I agree that the baby could be picking up on stress, PL-related or otherwise. I also would be careful about ear infections, because my youngest son ruptured an eardrum without ANY sign of an ear infection. Apparently he had one.
