My son is almost 6. But there has been on few occasions where he sparks my curiosity over something he says or does. I didn't store a couple in my memory bank because I thought it was just coincidence and maybe a mix up of words. But finally something caught my attention.....
We were at dinner with a sister who lives out of town. Ryan was going on 4 years old........ We def. censor everything he watches and if it's not Disney Jr. or education videos on his ipad he doesn't watch it.
There was wine glasses at the table, before the waitress removed the wine glasses my son asked if he could drink his apple juice in one. I agreed. After a few sips, he put his arm around his aunt and called her something endearing and acted as if he was drunk and said " I've had too much to drink". For a split moment, he was someone else. We all saw it. And we all knew what we had witnessed.
My husband and I don't drink or smoke. And when we do it's on a special occasion dinner where it's just the two of us.
Last week, my son is almost six. His grandma passed away last year, which has impacted him tremendously. On the way to the cemetery to take her flowers, he commented that "when we all die", meaning mom, dad, and his sister, "we should all remember to come back together so we could all be together again." I was spooked. I looked at my husband and he looked at me and I asked him did you hear him, and he said yes but don't think anything of it, he's a kid. I looked at Ryan and asked him what he meant and he said reiterated what I thought he said confidently.
