My son, the knight

My son is four years old, clever, outspoken and independant. So, he is the typical 4 year old.

I had never allowed him to watch violent programming. He always sticks up for the underdog or when a kid is being picked on, it is not unusual for him to stick up for that child.

He is not violent. He is very energetic and is never without movement. Always busy.

Since last year, he has been 'acting' as though he is a soldier in an army or even on his own. One day he had turned the channels on TV and came across Highlander. His eyes got really wide when in the beginning he saw the guy with his sword. He wanted to keep watching but I shut it off.
His father bought him a plastic sword of his own to play with and he uses it with accuracy. He does a little ritual with the sword to before he goes out to play. He stands perfectly striaght with his chin raised. Takes the sword out from his side strap, with the opposite hand, and holds it in front of his face. His feet are locked into a certain position and his knees are slightly bent. When he is down with that, he moves his body to the side, left I think, and keeps the same position. He pivots.

He throws the sword to his friend like you'd see in the movies. I've even heard him, with sword raised, shouting "forward!" And then he comes inside and tells me that his friend just has no clue in how to use the sword the proper way and that he'll have to teach him.

He also mentions the numbers 60 40....or 640, 60 4. He uses them in a different combination. Earlier this week it was 1640, than 1646. It had been 60 and 40 for a while. I have looked up these numbers as dates and have not found much.

Help!

Dear Kathy,

I just want to point out that swords have many uses other than fighting in war. Recently I had two clients who received swords during their healing sessions. One was a sword of compassion and the other was a sword of truth. So, stay open to the possibility that your son may be remembering that he is a spiritual warrior. Yes, he may be remembering a past life as a warrior/knight, too.

Blessings,

Bob

Kelly snd Bob,

Thanks for the input. I'd like to hear more on the spiritual warrior thought.

Not only are children more in touch with their past life memories, they are also more in touch with their spiritual essence. There are many people walking the planet right now who are spiritual warriors. They are committed to revealing the truth of who we really are to themselves and to others. Oftentimes we have to cut through illusions in order to rediscover truth. This is how and why spiritual warriors use their swords. As I mentioned before, these swords are made of compassion, of insight and discrimination, of yearning for truth, of commitment to the highest and best good for all. Spiritual warriorship can take a million different forms. Yet, it often involves cutting through illusion.

Lately I have been having a lot of clients who are receiving swords and/or instruction and inspiration in using their swords. I have also been coming in contact with more and more children who will not accept the illusions and veils that most adults accept. They are in touch with a deeper truth than most of their elders are. They are spiritual warriors and in a few years or so I believe that they will be coming forward in much larger numbers to challenge illusions and cut through to truth.

So, I offer all of this as another perspective on what may be going through your child during his swordplay...

Blessings,

Bob

Bob,

Is that why I can never "put one over" on him? He didn't even beleive in the Easter Bunny when he was 2 years old.

He gets upset at his friends if they fib. He also seems to know when someone is withholding information. Is this what you mean?

Dear Karen,

There are many children coming to the planet right now who have the kind of wisdom your son has. You may want to look at the links I put in above. Children like him present our society with incredible opportunities because of their gifts and wisdom. They also present current society with new challenges, because they will not conform to existing institutions.

Blessings,

Bob

HI,

Perhaps he could be a spiritual warrior, but he has also shown some signs of being a guardian of some sort, from what I think is a past life.

Yesterday, he put two swords together at each of the handles. He held them firmly in place and did his little ritual with the sword. Then we came to me and asked what kind of sword it was again, that looked like the one he had made.

Thanks for your replies!

I find this neat, For the past several days I have been looking into the middle ages and the crusades, I have found that along with the knights with swords, there is also shields, Not to dismiss the spirtual warrior aspect which I think is a divine gift, but try and see if he can draw something that might represent what he visualizes as "his shield"- it might be interesting,-peace-

The message of spritual warriors is a good one in our estimation but it has its dark side as well.
The phrase "He who LIVES by the sword shall die by the sword" spoken by the great master Jesus the Christ seems to have some relevance when it comes to anything that goes beyond earthly warfare and involves itself with "magic".
Ritual plays a great part in "magical" ceremonies and swords are used a great deal.
This is more verifiable from the distant past , probably , than today's world.
Insofar as rituals are very powerful in themselves.
Let's not yell , "Johnny, you're getting dangerous again" after reading this as it is a very deep and encompassing subject that requires great delicacy on the part of the parent to "handle" this and one of the surest ways to do this is inherent in Bob's idea of the "spiriual warrior" as it tends to turn the mind away from a former passive /aggressive action to one of thoughtfulness and understanding and concentrated action.
Transfer of energies can only change by the transforming power of LOVE.
