Hi, I think I have been 'lurking' long enough lol. I checked out this forum two years ago- it looked the best from all my 'googling', about children remembering past lives. My son's comments and behaviour when he was about 18 months (he just turned 5 now) started making me wonder...I put off posting because I didn't want to make a long rambling post and didn't really know how to word it- wasn't anything definate, just lots of little things and a feeling, but I wil jump right in here (finally), a lot of these posts sound so familiar to my situation. Thorin always had an obsession with cars almost from birth. He seemed to almost wonder why I was driving, when he should have the keys, protesting long and loud, trying to get them, and, as he got older, trying to put them in the ignition and take off with the car (almost suceeded a few times too!). He had a pretty sheltered life with his sister and I in the country, and later on he was at a daycare (where he still goes) whose mandate wouldn't really include the children playing agressively ('superheroe' clothing etc. not allowed, no 'cops and robber' type stuff-, very nurturing and gentle, this is relevant to his environment). Nevertheless, he always had two sides, a very happy, loving side- we are SO bonded, he loves his sister and I to pieces...and another side that makes me wonder 'Who IS this person?' One day when he was about 18 months, he was playing with all his little cars, and made a 'car chase', where the cop car was chasing but the siren noise he made was like it is in France or something (bee-boo-bee-boo)..he made one car flip over, and the 'cop car' pulled over to it. I said 'what's going on' (I am always careful never to ask any 'leading questions', advice from this forum). With a serious look, he said 'They got me'..and 'I was driving too fast". I said " Why were you driving so fast" he said, "So they couldn't get me"
and "I like driving fast, really fast"..then he looked sad and said."But you shouldn't, ur not supposed to and you can get killed" Thor was a little slow to talk/walk, and didn't usually speak that well (now he talks like a grownup and never stops!). This post is longer than I wanted, and there are lots of 'bits and pieces' but I post them later, I find it hard to be co-hesive after 2-3 years (should have written things down). I just remember one incident vividly, (he was 2 1/2, had woken up from a 'bad dream', and asked me to tell him about the night he was born to soothe him. It was just about how he came a litle earlier than expected (I was staying at his godmother's, closer to the hospital and he came that first night (actually at daybreak) instead of a week later, his due date..and about the beautiful northern lights that night on route to the hospital, and the sun coming up as he was born etc....nothing about being in my tummy. He interrupted me, speaking quickly, almost in a funny voice "Yes, I wanted to get out, I didn't want to be in there anymore, I said Hey it's dark in here let me out let me out" and for some reason, I don't know why I said, "Oh, and where were you before that" and instantly he said "In a car". I started to say something but he got mad and said "I don't want to talk about it anymore, I'm sleepy". sorry this post is so long!
